With just a few weeks left until KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES finally hits theaters, opening weekend predictions from box office analysts have begun to come out, and I wanted to give my own personal predictions for how I think the film will end up doing.

I'm sure none of us will take the box office numbers as something that affect how fans feel about the movie, but no doubt I think I speak for all of us when I say that I hope it does amazingly well so we can get more fans and the movies keep coming ❤

Wouldn't that be great? I've never felt the same since Star Wars was made a Christmas release. I grew up with BIG SUMMERTIME BLOCKBUSTERS with toys and school supplies with R2D2 on sale by fall. Lol Ah Good Old Days.

It's an established franchise with a built in audience with fans like me who saw the original films in the 70s. I Ioved the new trilogy, no, i was blown away by the new trilogy and can't wait for Kingdom. Many new fans haven't seen the new films at the cinema and will show up for this. The fans are there, it's getting very positive feedback, have faith. This movie will be epic.

There is something different about this franchise that makes a new connection with every generation, it's amazing! TBH I think Kingdom will pull in $58million at the open but I hope it's higher! Special channel right here!!

The apes reboot is definitely the gold standard in how to reboot an establish franhise that has lay dormant. Rise set the foundations and the outbreak of the virus was a masterstoke. And then again in war with the mutation of the virus to turn humans more to the feral state they were in the originals. All 3 were solid movies, dawn my personal favourite. Really enjoyed kingdom also and i was worried it wouldnt be a patch on the others but it definitely is a worthy sequel. Hope it does good enough that they push ahead with another trilogy

As for any predictions on box office success or failure, I personally look to how emotionally impactful a film can be. I mainly see it making a billion dollars globally along with being an emotional masterpiece.

I haven’t been seeing a lot of advertising for it so that worries me a little… but no matter what I’m picking up a copy of this movie as soon as it’s out on release. Super underrated franchise.

I saw all 3 of the teaser movies on the big screen in fact dawn released on my birthday July 11th and dawn is still my favorite of the trilogy not just because it's an awesome movie but because of the personal connection that I have to it cause it released on my birthday and I am so excited for kingdom

I think it will do well financially. Like you said, Planet of the Apes as a franchise, is not like Transformers or Avengers where the numbers are expected to be enormous. But it will bring in a good gross. And I think it is also helped by the fact the slate of films scheduled to be released this year as a whole is not as strong as in years passed. This is easily one of the more exciting films to be released this year. Not a lot of competition.

I’ve been enjoying the love for the Cesar trilogy I’ve been seeing for various big RU-vid channels on here recently. But we’re clearly in a minority. I just got my tickets for Kingdom today on Friday opening day at noon, and despite tickets having gone on sale like 2 weeks ago, it was super easy to get great seats on a Friday. I realized that ticket sales are actually doing pretty poorly which is unfortunate :/

Then spread the word among your friends & family to get as many tickets as they can, so they can see the movie as well.

I’m all for preparing for the worst but let’s not despair until we know we need to. It costs a lot right now to go to the theater, most of the time I’ve gone the last several years there’s been very few people in the theater, but movies still succeeded. It could be theaters in your area are struggling in general, it could be people got tickets for an early showing (I got tickets for a special may 8th showing and there are a couple other reserved seats!), or they’re waiting till closer to the time to get early tickets (people are nothing if not procrastinators), or waiting for reviews to come out to make sure they want to go, or they intend to get their tickets day of. Best thing we can do if it’s good is spread the word! People saying they enjoyed it is a big deal.

I wouldn't be worried. The last three films never had huge pre-sales numbers either, these movies aren't like Star Wars or Marvel where they sell out within hours of going on sale. We most likely won't see a lot of tickets starting to sell until the week of release.

@@Ape-Nation Exactly. This franchise has always been a solid money maker. It doesn't need to make "Star-Wars" / "Jurassic Park" level money, even if we do want that. I mean, there's always a first time, right? In fact, I'm hoping that this one surpasses all previous Apes films financially. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the movie as much as I hope you are.

I think this is going to be the highest grossing film yet I know a lot of older people I work with have seen these trailers and they think it's a remake of the 68 movie.They don't even KNOW there are three more movies before this

I agree, Kingdom will probably make more than both Rise and War. My prediction is that it ends its worldwide run around $560-600M

Honestly the biggest thing going against the film at the box office is the nature of the box office post -pandemic. Audience viewing habits have changed, but I do expect it to do well.

It has been a long time since the 1968 came out that this is the first time since that movie came out to see this movie is of that kind of movie and it is going to be different from the other movies and more new to see

Kingdom will have a soft opening for good reason. It's Mother's Day weekend and the target demographic will be staying at home with mom watching "Mama Mia" on Netflix.

I predict it could make $900 million max, even if War underperformed after Dawn with just $490 I think lots of people will want to see how this one compares to the Caesar Trilogy and plus it's doing something fresh!

If I had to guess this film will have a smaller budget. Even tho Dawn made more Money, War was about as profitable because of its much smaller budget. I suspect Fox got the price down for this latest film.

It hasn't been officially revealed yet, but a few insiders in the last few months have said it cost less than War, which was made for $150 Million. I'm sure we'll know soon though.

Love this type of video. I enjoy looking at the projections and I agree I think this will be in the 525 to 550mm take. Contrary to a few opinions expressed out there (which are way off base) this is a perfect time to bring in another movie to this franchise. The recent trilogy was awesome and enough time has passed to get the fan base eager for more and the not so crazy fans who like these movies (but aren’t huge Ape fans) are ready too. Recently watched the trilogy again and I’m ready. In the end it’s all about how good is the film. Solid reviews will get more people to go and 500mm plus will be easy

My only concern with the box office is in hoping the movie does well so they will make more films. I would love to see another trilogy of films with the Burton art style and practical make-up but accompanying a well told story but that won't happen unless the films are profitable. (All hail Aldo! )
