The reason I know who boxcar is. My grandfather raised me as his son. He could do the train horn just like boxcar Willie. And I mean just like him or better. He couldn't sing but he could do the train horn🤣. I miss my daddy the man I called Pap. He was born in 1933. People from that generation were a different breed. Including boxcar Willie
my Father born 1939 introduced me to Boxcar Willie, Johnny Horton, Conway Twitty, and so many more. Before his time came I introduced him to The Devil Makes Three, Hank the Third, and the Pine Box Boys. Before his death he finally got to hear some of that old time sound come back around. Thanks for the stroll down that lonesome highway.
He may not have written the songs he played but by God he made the songs vibrate in your chest. Wreck of the old 97 was never sung better. I like Johnny Cash but Boxcar was one of kind. RIP His music will never die. It's to soul shaking and foot tapping.
As a child I used to ride with my grandpa in his 89 F-150 and I would always bounce between a Boxcar Willie and a random Bluegrass cassette tape and BW holds a special place
A country music treasure/legend badly missed in what sadly ĺooks like a declinig world of country music still Boxcar Willie left a treasure trove of country music
He was my very first country singer I ever went to see I was younger back then I felt in love with his singing and I started to love country music till today shame he had to died Rest In Peace box car Willie
I know who Boxcar Willie because my Dad listen to him.. My Dad had order what he hope to be records ended up was set a knifes (this was 1970s or 80s) he was so upset ..he sent the set of knifes back..
I'm a 44-year-old man twice divorced five daughters etcetera etcetera. I have not heard Boxcar since I was...... I would say 10 years old maybe... Talk about nostalgia...
is it bad if your voice does that train sound when your try to sing certain notes loud? when i try to sing "Im only Sleeping" by the Beatles it happens...also when i tried to sing Long Tall Sally . this is a serious question.
