Biggest stance improvement I realized when boxing was to stick my lead foot out further that what feels natural and put more weight on the back foot. Not only does the leg act like a buffer but its a much more rock solid stance and it makes countering so much easier
I've seen a lot of boxing videos on RU-vid where you can tell they have no real knowledge on boxing. However your videos are the best I've seen so far. We have similar training methods keep up the good work.
This is a great understandable explanation. Far too many vids out there trying to explain the basics are done by guys who might know how to box but have no idea how to teach
For me it's remembering to never cross my feet when moving laterally and breaking my stance. Its slow in the beginning but I need to practice the micro movements.
@@Thoseboxingbros Ahh my apologies chaps, didn’t realise it was from May 🤦🏻♂️. From an ex-pugilist, keep up the good work - You both deserve success from the graft you’re putting in 👊🏼
Love you videos! but you can use balls of your feet while keeping your entire foot on the ground. Better balance right? Don’t tire as quickly and still as effective
Funny thing, foot work came natural to me when I started shadow boxing. I think it's from all the dancing, and walking fire I've done on the gun range.
If you leadwith your left foot when going left in a street fight, youre prone to groun kicks and leg sweeps HOWEVER this is BOXING footwork where kicking isnt considered. Keep that in mind people
Great video but having your back heel off the ground at all times is just not right. Look at all the greats in boxing. When in stance and settled, their back foot and lead foot were always planted and thats for a reason.
