I watched a lot of boxing and thought I knew the basic concepts. Until I actually started training boxing this year. Boy! Did I look terrible at the start. My technique was all wrong.
Haha! Not just me then. I'm still finding shadow boxing excruciating, especially in front of my coach. Of course he's seen it all before and couldn't care less what I look like. Only a couple of months in though. At least I can't get any worse. I'm certainly not giving up. 💪
Thank you. One thing I struggle with as a beginner is constant head movement. I know how to slip, roll, duck and can execute them okay but I struggle to get into a flow of constant movement. When I see good boxers I notice their almost-constant, proactive movements are often more subtle than a 'full' slip. If you're ever thinking of drill videos I think drills to help with this would definitely be helpful to me (and I imagine others). Thanks!
Fran please do a breakdown of Bivol his performance was very inspiring in terms of using the basics to win as you always preach! defense, straight shots, footwork with everything being tight and never giving up the center of the ring
I used to run half marathons easy and fast. When I started boxing training I could barely go one round. Different intensities. Using different muscles. Be an all rounder. Start with your feet. If you cant use footwork you cant move to hit anyone with balance.
Mr.Sands, I thank you for your generous giving of your knowledge and skill, delivered in a fundamental way to develope a good foundation. Thanks for the e-book and your service to make us better. 🥊👍
Hello Fran, thank u for all the video u upload on youtube, i think u should make a boxing dvd for bjjfanatics, i would love to buy it, if u would make one, have a nice day.
Hey coach, bit of a more experienced boxer. I have a question regarding training, I push to my limits in training but I find that often after workouts I need to rest for a day or two sometimes. My question is: should I train hard every day? And if so how often should I rest?. Thanks
