Same here, I feel like a slow robot with my left foot forward, completely uncoordinated in my movement.

@@ruylopez1039 yeah I feel the same. But my problem is that I have a weak cross.. but my jabs are way stronger than when I'm in orthodox. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I'll find out in the future :)

@@Hazy_Bubble A lot of pro boxers are natural southpaws but fight in orthodox like de la Hoya and Barrera and then you have Pacquiao who is like us, a right handed southpaw, I don't mind sacrificing some power because being able to move fluidly is just too important to give up.

There's no such thing as a "right handed southpaw", There _is_ such thing. But that is only if you are really naturally gifted - like Terence Crawford for example. If your right handed, Then your right hand is your *real* power hand no matter what you do - Even if you train to deceive your muscle memory, You would constantly switch stances most of the time or at random moments because your back-hand doesn't have that kind of power as opposed to your right hand. Yes, There could atleast be some sting in the backhand shots. But it's not worth it. When you have somebody hurt, You don't sting him. You send a sledgehammer to the guys skull or body - whichever your man prefers to sacrifice first. Switch-hitting may be an art form, But that's easier said than done for most. I tried it myself. Trust me when I say you should learn the right-handed conventional stance first (since you are a right handed person). Do this whole "right-handed southpaw" stuff only when you have perfected the conventional technique. Since I'm a left handed person, I am perfecting my conventional left hand stance and technique. Now that I'm comfortable fighting out of my true stance - I would occasionally switch stances, in order to cut someone's escape route off. For example, If I'm fighting another left handed person - I would pressure this guy, and bring his back to the ropes. If he decides to get out of the way by stepping to his right, I would switch my stance momentarily to cut him off. Land a few shots on some opening this person may provide, And what'd ya know? My power hand is an inch closer to his right temple. So if I load it just enough and swung at it - He's in the canvas. You see what I mean?

Coach l was always taught more of a perpendicular stance. Do you mind sharing the benefit of the front foot at 45 degree angle?
