Here's a short one on how me and my Dad boxed in waste pipes in our new porch to tidy it up and make it feel more homely.

Nice job! It's finishing touches that make it look so much better. I had a boss who thought he was insulting me by calling me a "90% guy." Only doing enough work to get by. I told him I was actually a 75% guy but I liked him so much I put in an extra 15% just for him. Funny, I didn't stay at this job very long.

Since you bought the boat I thought I would never hear you say "Garage" again. Thankfully you did say it and said it an extra few times for me cause I love the way you say it. Awesome project with many facets. Great job! Thanks always for sharing and especially saying "Garage" for me. hahaha

A neighbour boxed in pipes in his garage similar, but he used Velcro so the panel could easily be removed.

Rare earth magnets are a good option as they are strong but not so strong you can't remove the panel.

Hi, I never thought I would watch anyone doing woodwork and see something I did not have, after about twenty years you took the biscuit with the chop saw, well not the cop saw as I have several of these, but the hold-downs at the sides, what a great idea. I now have a Worx mitre saw on its way and I look forward to using those hold downs and keeping my fingers safe. Thank you for the shortcut.

Glad you like it too! It also comes with metal extender pieces on the sides to help prop wood up too, but I didn't use it in this video :)

I had done this before with a washing waste pipe behind the fridge a couple years back and all was good once it had been pb’d and plastered but because they were old push fit joints there was a leak a couple months down the line behind the boxing in so i had to rip it all out and replace the waste with solvent weld. It may be alright to used push fit for waste pipes but if they get disturbed after time they expand and contract they might cause leaks later down the line. I ended up doing the job over again when that happened but it’s always best to check that you have no dodgy joints especially if it involves waste water!!

Haha... thanks! And no leaks that we can see :) But the panel can be unscrewed and removed easy enough :)

Nice, but I'd have used magnetic catches to allow easy access to the pipes in an emergency.

Thanks. That probably would be more suitable for a smaller, lighter panel. Although unscrewing is easy enough.

Quick question, is that inspection chamber lid access to the main drains or to a hidden gully because that would explain why those waste pipes are disappearing into the floor!! I was going to advise about future access if you ever had any problems but I reckon that’s what it possibly is!

Thanks! Yes, Spax. But just look up concrete screws - they're cheaper. I'll try and grab a link, but they're way too expensive on amazon!
