I'm an American and have no stake in this, but man the bar we were in couldn't believe it. Catterall was looking like the British James Toney, boxed his face off.

I’m Scottish and obviously was backing taylor in this fight but catterall got robbed big time.. it was daylight robbery .The judges were shocking and should be ashamed of themselves one of the worst decisions I’ve seen

Man, Jack can clearly fight. Fair play to him...really sad to see a decision like this. It's brutal in Boxing. He'll have to fight 3 (?) World champions to become Undisputed once Josh inevitably drops all the belts.

114-111 for Catterall is exactly how I scored it...and I was giving Taylor everything close because he was the home fighter (and I hate that bullshit but its realistic). What's the point even turning up to this. They should have saved Jack the journey and given Taylor the decision a week ago!

Jacks Rocky moment… the first half of the fight was beautiful, totally outclassed him. Performance of a lifetime, he boxed out of his skin and won that. Heartbreaking stuff. The way Josh Taylor is carrying on too like he’s the victim, put me right off him! He fought like a moody, angry bitch and he carried on like one after the fight. Must be a Josh thing getting schooled, keeping your belt and running away to a higher weight 😂

Outrageous decision jack won 11 of the 12 rounds and he only lost 1 round because he had a point taken of him !!! Feel for the bloke he boxed a perfect fight and completely outclassed josh and has his dream taken away from him by boxing corruption and sadly no one will be accountable for this piss poor decision

Post the scores round by round for all to see!!! That makes judges less likely and more importantly less able to do what they did tonight!! Also would add excitement… what other sport do you compete not knowing the opponents score or your own?? 😂🙌🏾

I remember 30 years ago about 1992, the James Toney and Dave Tiberi world title fight.Toney was almost out on his feet in the later rounds when Tiberi pumped out shots on him virtually throughout the fight.I didnt watch the Taylor v Caterral but the same failure at awarding the victory of the fight to Caterral reminds me of what happened to Dave Tiberi and both fights were world title fights.Tiberi never fought again,Caterral might not.These outright robberies must stop in the UK.I am a fan of Taylor.

There needs to be an inquest followed by an immediate rematch in order to save boxing from embarrassment and corruption.

He's right, only the biggest fights will sell out the biggest venues while the judging is corrupt, it switches off casual fight fans completely and rightly so.

Maybe a controversial idea, but why not have, say, nine judges instead of three? The odds of two out of three getting it wrong are much bigger than five out of nine. And why not have a ranking list for judges, just like they have for fighters? And if you're too low on the ranking list you don't get to judge big fights. And if you regularly fuck up you don't get to judge any fights whatsoever. Something (anything, please!) must be done. But I bet that we'll still be having this conversation 10 or 20 years from now.

Something has happen here, there isn't one person that agrees with the rusult. If I was Jack I would just retire and shove the sport up its own arse. At least the world knows he's a real champion. Jack beat the best infront of everyone for what ? What's the point in stepping in the ring if the fight is not winnable ?

I fancied Jack to land the upset before the fight,Josh was really on a hiding to nothing pressure wise,Jack's strong at the weight,unorthodox,and the game plan was spot on.

I personally thought Caterall won the fight by 5 points. The result does not surprise me. There seems to be an unwritten judging rule that if the challenger does not easily win the round it is given to the champion. On that basis I think they won 6 rounds a piece the knock down being the deciding factor. The 113-112 therefore appears the correct outcome. Given human nature and judgement factor a two round shift either side would be acceptable. Thefore even the judge who gave it one round to Taylor is not totally off under how fights seemed to be scored. The last judge well that cannot be explained. He should be relieved of his licence to referee and judge fights ever again.

Now you see why Mayweather, Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Mikey Garcia etc left Top Rank..They CLEARLY paid those two judges who need to never ever officiate a Boxing event again

I watched it twice and had it wider for Catterall the second time. He won it by 3-4 rounds. Even of you are really generous to Taylor and give him the tighter rounds then Caterall still won by 2 rounds

UFC is squeaky clean compared to Boxing. They judges did not make a mistake. They knew exactly what they were doing. Crooked as Gandalfs wooden staff.

Why can't a decision that's clearly wrong , be appealed, in most work places or businesses, or criminal law , or if you buy something, you have the right to say no , I want a second opinion or refund or appeal, why in boxing an obvious wrong decision is final, it obviously a corrupt sport

He’s wrong about mma and it has just as many bad judges decisions as some judges favour striking over grappling and vice Vera and most use the 10 plus system (couple still use the old pride system of fight as a whole)

A promising fighter lost his undefeated record, this should have been the fruit of all those years of hard work and dedication yet the judges robbed him , if I was him I'd be distraught and never wana fight again.

Said it before will say it again, Taylor is nothing special, the fact he’s undisputed after 14 fights only shows how weak the division is, he’s never beaten an exceptional fighter let alone an established champion. As for Cattrall yes he clearly won but let’s not pretend he’s world class either. Any wonder Ken Buchanan took to drink having to see how far standards have dropped 🙄

This was the straw that broke the camels back. When it was the odd prospect like Hatton getting the nod I could just about stomach it but it appears that this is becoming normal.
