You know that “little message” you added is the reason why the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and many other countries have far less gun related deaths than the US. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. We’ve been thinking “it’s not the gun it’s the person” since the first amendments were passed and gun violence, as you’d expect, hasn’t gotten any better. That kind of mindset makes no change and it’s probably because it’d take forever to make sure everyone who has or wants a gun can responsibly handle one. Wouldn’t it be both easier & faster to just make more restrictive laws? Maybe if America were as great as it claims to be, we would’ve made laws to prevent this after one of our many massacres or school shootings. The UK restricted THEIR gun laws after the Dublane school shooting in 1996 and they haven’t had a school shooting ever since, whereas America’s last one was in March of this year (2021). But its just some food for thought I guess.

I’ve never understood gangs. Having blind faith in a leadership that you don’t know, and having a blind hatred towards people with the same system as you. Gang mentality is so toxic.
When a young boy doesn’t have a family, they turn to other boys that don’t have families and grown men who were once in their position too. They all know it’s extremely toxic, but they all only got each other && it becomes a literal way of life after a while. You can’t break a way of life easily no matter what. Especially that kind.

Ghosty that’s because most of people in gangs grow up in a very unstable home environment, if not no home at all. Studies show kids who’ve had mental abuse, traumatized experiences or lack of mom or dad tend to be diagnosed as a sociopath, something they couldn’t help. If you were ever in that situation, you wouldn’t be looking at it as “so easy to avoid”. When most guys your age turned to gangs because they had nothing else, so you had too also. I have family that turned to that life. I also was surrounded by it. I know why. Also, imagine making friends. They’re like your family, even if it’s toxic and unhealthy, they’re still like family to you. Now imagine someone who lives a couple blocks down shoots one of your “family members” simply because they were in your “group”. First initial reaction you would have, is the emotion of hatred and retaliation. That is why people hate someone else who lives on the other side of town. It’s interesting how this comment section is full of rich and ignorant people who think people do join gangs and do all this gang activity for fun, but in all reality they do it because they’re young, immature and don’t know what else to turn too. They don’t want to do it AT ALL by any means. If they could have a life, living in a nice house, with a stable family, and the coolest video games and best education. They’d snatch that up in a millisecond.

back in the 90s i was about those girls age when some people started shooting at the park i hid behind a clay horse and a older kid just like that boy ran by and picked me up and saved my life, that clay horse was shot to pieces.

I'm from l.a I live on 103rd and century by McDonalds, in the 25 yrs of living here most drive by shootings and shoot outs lead to a child getting shot because a lot of these thugs shoot at the fucking floor and who's closest to the ground? Kids. I remember when I was 13 two lil girls were shot playing in their yard( two different occasions) because some foo didn't know how to handle a gun and shot at the floor thankfully they caught the teens who did it
Why can't people settle their disputes by talking it out. Three little girls were playing a game outside and they had to run for their lives because some people must resort to violence when they don't get what they want. Very sad that they probably would have to stop playing outside because of this fear. Truly horrible!

That's in Inglewood. Inglewood has always been expensive. Also most of those homes are owned. I grew in that side of Inglewood and. Went to Morningside High.
