*Fun fact!* All the songs they sang in the medley are actually old songs that they remade when they participated in a singing competition called 'Immortal Songs 2'. It's a show where legendary singers/composers appear each week and singers/idols are invited to come and sing a song of the featured guest. Not too many idols have come to the show, and only a few come together as a whole group. Mamamoo is one of the few idols that has repeatedly come to the show and is actually the only girl group to have won 2 episode plus was invited to be a part of the 'The Best of the Best' episode which is a pretty impressive feat considering all the performers that regarded as the country's finest performers. And Mamamoo actually gained much attention because of their appearances on IS2, which made them quite well-known among listeners of all ages. I would most definitely want you to listen to 'Delilah' and 'Backwoods'! As a Moonbyul biased as well, these two songs would have not been as perfect as they are if it wasn't for Byul's raps. And did you also know she wrote all the raps by herself for the song? 💞 I've seen quite a lot of your reaction videos but I can literally count by hand just how many times you've struggled to find words to say 😂 And I'm glad you enjoyed that performance 💞
Their concerts are 4 hours long and have the same quality of excitement and performance throughout the entire concert. Their stamina and stability is just insane. That's a reason why Mamamoo's concert tickets are so highly coveted.
Please please react to Wheein’s full cover of Kehlani’s “Honey” or Code Kunst’s “Flower”. Or any of the girls’ solo/covers. Hwasa’s solo “Be Calm” is one of my favorites.
They were trained to focus on vocals, fun on stage, and stage presence before anything else, then dance and looks will just come. Usually dancing and looks is priority hence why when mamamoo performs, you can hear them clearly and it is purely them. No difference from studio to live vocals. That's why I think they are best. And they are called vocal Queens of kpop due to how powerful their voices are and that they can do an entire concert without voice breaking. Not to mention their range and versatility. Now i love a few kpop groups but vocally no one is hitting it like them. Imo, they sound more like you a western soulful pop than just strictly kpop. Moonbyul-nice deep soothing tone, quite unique. Wheein- honey voice similar to a young Mariah Carey. Solar-powerhouse vocals, can keep up with Whitney Houston, ariana grande, Christina Aguilera. And Hwasa-unique raspy jazzy voice, and stage presence of that of beyonce, fierce. All so unique and somehow they work very well combined.
also I would reccomend "when you come to my heart", "you are crying" and "stay" 3 covers hwasa did on yu huiyeol's sketchbook! they really bring out her husky tone😊
That was from a good 3 years ago and since then every member has developed their style further, especially moonbyul. I recommend clips from their 4 seasons 4 colors concerts, which clips in particular I dont know at the moment. Hwasa's jazzy voice is a damn treasure and I'm happy this clip could show you that. Fun fact: those were a compilation of older songs they performed and reworked for the competition show immortal songs, so a good majority of them sound very different, especially the one they ended on.
All the songs in the "Immortal songs medley" are songs they covered before on the singing competition show Immortal songs (they were on that show 13 times and even won a few times which is very rare for idol groups to do) I would recommend their performances of Delilah and passion flower but you should be careful of copyright strikes from kbs As for Hwasa's solos I think you would really like "Don't" with Loco
No ones really mentioned Hwasa’s ost song “Orbit”, that’s absolutely one of her best songs as well as “Be calm” and “Don’t.” Also, I really enjoy your reactions and I can’t wait for u to react to more mamamoo!
you uploaded this at a pretty much perfect time, as it was on their 6 year anniversary and yeah, performances like this show why they're frequently called 'the vocal queens of kpop'... it's hard to beat the way these women seem to be able to harmonize instantly, can play off each other so easily and each one takes turns doing vocal runs, adlibs and riffs, how even though they're all four so drastically different (vocally, personality-wise and more) yet work so flawlessly as a whole. nobody tries to outshine each other, they almost act like they're one being with four bodies while on the stage as for their stamina and control... it's unreal. this medley was done in the middle of...i think at the time the concerts 'only' ran 3 hours long and here they are singing and dancing live for 11 minutes without a pause. since then, their concerts have only gotten longer, the 4 season concerts frequently broke the 4 hour mark and the final 4 season f/w concert (i forget if was in hong kong or taiwan, sadly) reached 5 hours long. it's crazy. esp considering they tend to do these things 3 days in a row without a break one of the reasons for their stamina is the way they tended to earn most of their money while still under the general kpop radar (and still do a fair bit even now that they're so famous. this year being an exception thanks to a certain unnamed thing affecting the whole world...)... their live festival attendance. for years they've been the second most requested act for college festivals and similar city/county music festivals (only psy consistently beat them out for requests). they'd been known to do up to 4 of these festivals in one day... spend hours on the road between them, then get home late at night just to get up early the next day and do it again. always singing live, frequently changing their adlibs and dances and antics up to match the city or college (one reason they were so popular, always making their stages unique). i think they frequently did about 50 festivals a year, which is crazy considering festival season is only about 2 months long
reading this makes me so proud of my girls They’ve worked so unbelievably hard to get to where they are today. I can tell they genuinely have a passion for music and singing which is shown in their dedication to their work.
Moonbyul regained confidence in singing starting with Paint Me in 2018, a beautiful Mamamoo ballad. Also it would be nice if you react to Hwasa solo stuff before her comeback. Thank you for your reaction

After watching their medley, I looked for all the episodes they're in. Especially their rookie days, senior singers gave them high praises and called them Monster Rookies because of their amazing voice. there are 13 appearances, and 3 of them has a trophy. If I feel very nostalgic, I go back to their episodes. ahaha

Ahhh yes this is a classic! Hwasa with those high notes though! Moonbyul really started singing more with Mamamoo with Paint Me in 2018. One of my favorite Mamamoo songs is Spring Fever because she sings the whole song 😭❤️ Their newest album Reality in Black has so much more vocalist Moonbyul and I so hope the next album has even more!

This medley is required material for moomoos, but I wonder if people have recommended their other medleys? They have so many! They did a boygroup hit medley a few years ago, you might like that :) For another spectacular live performance, I'd recommend their JYP's Party People performance! They love performing live so much and they slay it every time :")
Yay! I am so happy you reacted to this, I was not expecting it! I'm so glad you enjoyed their medley and you got to experience their amazing live vocals and stage presence! this is very unique to mamamoo, their ad libs, the different versions they do for every song and their insane stamina is unprecedented which makes their lives absolutely crazy. There's a 4 season 4 color concert in which they sing and dance for 4 hours straight and their energy is so contagious and awe inspiring. This medley features covers of legendary songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, which they sang individually at a tv show called immortal songs 2. They are arranged differently than the originals and they choreograph by themselves in most cases. I hope when you react to hwasa's solos you can check out Be Calm (she wrote this herself and it's personal) and Don't, which is a collab with LOCO. I think you'd love them.

Hwasa drops her voice mid-chord which not many can do properly. Solar can belt with strong voice. Wheein is silky and harmonizes with runs. Moonbyul’s voice is so unique. All 4 perform at highest level, on pitch every time. Damn they are talented.

Ah yes, i love it when reactors finally see the medley. SO good. And mind you, they use a live band! And no lol, these songs are "immortal songs" aka they're korean classics. They performed full versions of all these covers (which they made their own by arrangements and such) on the korean competition variety show "Immortal Songs 2" which features various korean artists, that only sometimes includes idols. Usually, people only perform one song per show/episode but Mamamoo has gone on the show so many times they were able to make a whole medley of their covers! You should see the separate songs they've done, quite a few of their best ones weren't put in the medley. I'd highly recommend Mamamoo Immortal Songs 2 Delilah! They performed it months after debut, and they've definitely improved since then but still. The way the covered/changed that classic was so so good!
Yes i would definetly love to hear you thoughts and take on her first solo "twit" before the new album, as always i enjoyed your reaction. this was the first video of mamamoo i ever saw, youtube just kind of recommended it to me randomly, i didn't even listen to kpop back then. Suffice to say i was so shocked and overwhelmed by their talent, people really don't exaggerate when they say they have the best vocals in kpop, and they always always sing live during their stages. fun fact : they tried lip-synching once ( because of some technical problems) and they were so bad it it's actually quiet ridiculous.

TWIT by Hwasa is a definite must-listen, it’s just so catchy and so Hwasa (if that makes any sense at all). It’s not super crazy vocal or dance wise, but still is one of the songs that I can listen to and watch the music video for hours 😂
Mamamoo on Immortal Songs will alwaus be iconic. I love them all. Also you will love You're Crying by Hwasa that she did on Yu Huiyeol Sketchbook. It has the rnb/reggae vibe you would like.
Here to second that you should give a listen to their arrangement of 만남 (Meeting) on Immortal Songs 2. It's the most recent performance and has more of vocal!Byul. Her deep harmony makes me feel a certain way...

You definitely should react to Hwasa’s solo work before her comeback on the 29th. Her official solo debut was “Twit” last year and it’s very much a bop and what I personally see as her Hwasa persona/sexiness that she’s now known for. So think the mood of Mamamoo title tracks. But if you go back and want to see something that is very Ahn Hyejin (her real name and off stage, soft self) you should listen to “Be Calm” then “Be Alright” - they are slower songs that are more Ahn Hyejin energy. She actually blessed us with “Be Alright” for her birthday in 2018! (Fun fact Mamamoo usually does cute shit like that on their birthdays and gives their fans a present on their YT channel, re: Wheein in April with her dance covers and singing Kehlani’s Honey 🥺). If you listen to those two songs, you’ll find a treat in the intro video of Hwasa’s comeback called “Nobody” referencing the song titles and growth of her character. It’s really cool since this album is named “Maria” which is her baptismal name and I love that she’s showing this versatility in her music and is given the freedom to do that with RBW. I don’t know the sound this will have but from the intro video alone, it feels transcendent. Side note: if you wanna see Hwasa at her peak in seductress mode, definitely watch “Don’t” ft. Loco (the Above Live version is the besssst). He’s a rapper who’s been very vocal about his crush on her and being his ideal type that she basically called him and they created this song in literally a few days... while it was documented on national television for a show lmao.
The only girl group I Stan it’s mamamoo, mamamoo is all about the r&b and jazzy style, they themselves are huge fans of this kind of genre and so I’m i. They are really into music, THEIR VOICES JUST SERVEEEEE these days it’s really hard to find girl groups like these, now it’s like a trend that hard dancing style.

One thing I love about mamamoo and bts. Their live performance are better than the MV. It is more enjoyable since they do audience interaction at the same time doing choreography and vocals.
