MAMAMOO - Immortal Songs Medley - Vocal Coach & Professional Singer Reaction - How are they real?! 

I am stunned by these girls! I would love to do a reaction to compilation of their own solo songs. Let me know down in the comments which one you recommend for each member!

I don't see anyone commenting about this, but since you said that whoever put Wheein and Hwasa together is a genius, here's a little backstory lmao. They have been bestfriends ever since middle school (they celebrated their 13 years of friendship this year, have 2 friendship tattoos). In highschool they had a band with another classmate called S.A.D. (sexy and dangerous). They came to Seoul together to become singers. Going through other agencies and rejections, Wheein once got into a group with Moonbyul as it's leader. They had to part ways before debut. Afterwards, they all met again in their current agency, where the ceo suggested that Wheein and Hwasa debut in the same group. Their ceo has said that the group MAMAMOO, the other two members were chosen with Wheein and Hwasa as the base.

you can tell mamamoo are born to perform on stage! their charisma, vocals are just so amazing!

Moonbyul currently is currently among the top 3 female idols with the most songs credited to her as the songwriter, producer, lyricist, and composer. This is alongside LE from EXID, and BoA. Concurrently, all MAMAMOO members have songs credited under their name, which isn't typical for idols to do; but MAMAMOO did. For the earlier MAMAMOO MVs all members contribute in various ways, they are known to add and make their own choreographies, MV concepts, album artwork, etc. In Korea, they're breaking the idea that idols are not artists.

Moonbyul is the definition of a rapper. Rapping is just not about the speed, her raps are emotional to point where it transcends language. I don't need to know korean to be able to understand her raps.

In the cleopatra game, moonbyul can sound like a dolphin. Didn't actually expect she can do that.

For the members I'd recommend MOONBYUL: (vocal based) Absence, Worthless (Love&Hate), Mirror and her debut mini and title Eclipse in general. Her solo Selfish is so nice too and rap-wise Moon Movie pls WHEEIN: Easy, 25, literally all her covers are 100% worth to check out and react to SOLAR: her debut single or her solo (Hello), her songs (like "it's been a while") on her youtube channel too where she also made some cover medleys HWASA: all her singles like Twit and Maria, Be calm, and the amazing Bsides like LMM or also her covers Dare I say: please check out Paint Me, where they're all amazing vocalists, such a power ballad, or also Star Wind Flower Sun ^•^

You can't watch this performance without noting their professionalism and the way they absolutely own the audience as though they'd been doing this for years but it's worth mentioning that at this point in their career Mamamoo had only done two previous concerts. They've only gotten better since then and they continue to expand their range of vocal colors. It's not easy to suggest one song for each member because of their versatility, both in terms of genres and in the variety of vocal techniques they use in different styles of music and emotional contexts. Solar is known as a power belter but she kills me on ballads just by gently bending a note, Wheein's favorite style isn't ballads but those are some of her best vocal moments, Hwasa's raspy jazz & soul style wouldn't lead you to think of her as the flexible vocal gymnast she is, and of course Moonbyul keeps surprising us as she continues to develop as a singer. MMM is always best live but there are usually copyright issues with tv shows. Here's one ballad recording per member so you can compare them on a similar style of music: Solar: Nada Sou Sou Moonbyul: Absence Wheein: Goodbye Hwasa: LMM (Lost My Mind) As a group their vocal masterpiece in a recording studio is Paint Me. I Miss You is also up there but Moonbyul only sings harmonies on it (it's from 2016). Btw, the live performance of I Miss You on the Queendom tv show is one of the best you'll ever hear by a girl group.

I love this reaction. I am definitely looking forward to you reacting to solo songs. I'm trying to decide what would be the best set. I pretty sure you should do LMM for Hwasa. That's the most pure vocal for her. I think Absence would be best for Moonbyul. No rapping on that one if you want a mix, probably Eclipse. For Wheein my favorite is Easy (R and B, her favorite style) but you might want 25 more of a ballad. Solar is the hardest for me to choose. While I love Spit it out, she mostly stayed away from vocal pyrotechnics in that. You might want to do one of her recent OSTs. Blue Bird or Adrenaline. Alternately she has several acapella covers (on her youtube channel Solarsido) where she's showing herself totally raw, coming at a song she hasn't polished yet. My favorite of that is Speechless.

Hwasa and Wheein could show such harmonies probably since they are childhood friends and even auditioned together. Their synergy has been building up since elementary or middle school :)

But geuriwo have like more deep feels, like you really miss that time or that things, that person, and also, geuriwo is more in romantic ways

something that i love from one of the songs, its that the part in 5:22 when hwasa and wheein are looking to each other means something like "half of my life is yours" (sorry if its not the exact translation) and its beautiful knowing the backstory of their friendship

I'm so fan of you stanning Mamamoo !! And I agree with you : how can people doubt of Hwasa capabilities, talent and stunning beauty ? She is a real inspiration to me, and for many people I assume. She said "If I don't fit in this generation's standard of beauty, then I will have to become a different standard" and so she did ! She wrecks beauty standards and doesn't care about what people may think of her body or face and walks in a sexy red leotard at the MAMA because she knows she is a wonderful woman, and a superb artist. Which is how she defined herself : an artist, not an idol. All four of Mamamoo girls are true artists. Another reason for Hwasa and Wheein working so well together is because they’ve been best friends since middle school. I think the extremely high level that the whole group performs at is part because they are amazing vocalists separately but also partly because they are so close to each other. They have one of the closest relationships among members that I’ve ever seen in a kpop group

Please do Moonbyul, I originally came to Mamamoo after Maria and Twit, but stayed for Wheein and Moonbyul. Please do them both!! I would also highly recommend Destiny and Good Luck; compare good luck with the original, they are so freaking amazing. (I grew up in Asia, but never got into K-Pop since I hated the formulaic style. For the first time in my life, I have stanned a kpop group. That is their power. Also Moonbyul.)

You couldn't imagine how much they were hated by some critics and media for 'being ugly' and 'being masculine' at the time of debut. Even their own company advertised them as 'the most VOCALLY talented idol group'. I am so glad they still make #1 whenever they do come back album after all these years. This proves that they are truly loved by the public.

Because it's usually older songs from 60s to 90s and didn't have raps in it, Byul usually composes her own verses in adherence to the song's context If you watch the original performance from KBS World channel, you'll find the translations of the lyrics! ^^

This was for their 2017 concert, named ‘Mamamoo Concert Moosical: Curtain Call’ they picked their version of the songs they sang during the show "IMMORTAL SONGS", performing an Eleven-Minute long medley in the middle of a Four-Hour long concert. And Solar was unhappy with her Last belt, because she had to stop moving to complete it... Crazy woman, love her.

The idea of hwasa and wheein together are come from them since they were classmates from very young age and already singing together, that’s why then they went to be trainee at the same company and be able to debute in the same group.
