Will shares how he started acting and how he wasn’t the first Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World. Will also discusses his journey with anxiety and how he structures his lifestyle to mitigate anxiety spirals.
Christy and Will reflect on their time doing Kim Possible together and how they share a love for voice acting. Will talks about how he exclusively voice acts and how he really enjoys interacting in the diverse world of voice actors.

About Christy Carlson Romano:
Welcome to the official Christy Carlson Romano RU-vid channel! Christy has been a working actress and singer since she was 6 years old. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 14 to star in the Disney Channel franchise, Even Stevens as Ren Stevens alongside Shia LaBeouf. Christy enjoyed many years with Disney gaining an Emmy nomination for her voice work as Kim Possible and starring on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast. She went on to balance her college career at Barnard College, Columbia University with filming movies for ABC Family including: ‘Campus Confidential’, ‘Taking Five’, ‘The Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold’, and ‘The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream’. Christy returned to Broadway in her mid twenties and learned to be a puppeteer in the Tony-Award winning ‘Avenue Q’. Christy was married to her husband on New Years Eve , 2013 in Banff, Canada after having met in a screenwriting class in college. She became impassioned with directing and made her debut in Lionsgate’s “Christmas All Over Again”. According to his IMDB, Will has had a great voice acting career! He referenced in this episode that he had his first panic attack on a movie called H-E-Double Hockey Sticks, which is the only thing I remember seeing him in other than Boy Meets World. It sounds like his anxiety curbed his acting career into voice acting. I actually thought maybe he had gone to theatre. He is hilarious and so so talented!

I love how he gave tips for dealing with anxiety. I get panic attacks and anxiety attacks so bad. There were two times I've been hospitalized because one was so bad I thought I was literally having a heart attack. I'm definitely gonna try some of his tips and tricks!

Will Friedle is one of those few sincere, genuine artists (won't insult the man by calling him a celebrity) that I could listen to for DAYS. He is so down-to-earth, a great story teller, and can keep an audience engaged. He was also one of the most iconic actors of my childhood between playing Eric Matthews, Batman, and Ron Stoppable. It's just nice to know that SOMEONE from your childhood is the real deal 25 years later. Just found your channel today Christy and I am hooked. It's so nice to see you're doing well after all these years and I'm LOVING the fact that you and Will are collaborating. One of the best duos of my childhood!

What Will said about social media really struck with me. I've been losing a constant battle of mental will against my Twitter addiction and even tried to set an app timer. But when time was up, I would constantly extend it or turn off the timer for the day. I know I would have more time and less anxiety in the day if I stuck with limiting myself to one hour and stopped doom scrolling.... So starting today, I'm going to put more effort into it. Only 1 hour per day so I can finally distance myself from it and complete my goals for 2022. Thanks for the podcast Christy! I needed to hear the advice from some of my childhood role models.

Good luck when Covid happened 2 years ago I did the same thing with Instagram during quarantine when I noticed it negatively affected my mental state and I was recovering from surgery at the time and a whole bunch of terrible things happened and i deleted the app for a bit then limited my time to 5 minutes on the app when i re-downloaded it

Ya its hard to do. Goodluck on limiting your social media. I have limited mine down from nearly all the time to two hours at first and then im planning on going down from there. Most times now I listen to podcasts like this one and that helps with the addiction I find as well.

Good luck!! I’ve been trying to look at it from the lens of “Later today, one week, one year” will I regret not spending more time on (insert social media here) or will I regret not living in the real world…reading a book, going on a walk, cooking, etc.” I think socials can be great and I do enjoy them too, but limits are needed to really enjoy what we have here on the big blue marble. It is wonderful to be alive and experience life not through a screen. I swear I used to just sit and look at things and observe them instead of filling every second with stimulation.

Bro, I know exactly what you mean. I'm the same way. The biggest thing for me(you might be different) is getting rid of all news and politics. That includes people you follow. Use the mute words function!!!!! I keep hitting the maximum limit on muted words, lol, but it helps a lot! It sucks you can't get rid of the trending section on the search page but if I need to search I click on the search bar before I can even read whats trending. But basically, twitter for me is just a constant feed of memes, cool news about movies/games/tv, pet videos, and even positivity quotes. It helps me alot because if I do put down my phone too long or any other distraction, that's when my mind takes over. But either way, I wish you the best man!

Ive had similar issues with twitter and tik tok and it sucks when deleting the app or limiting screen time doesnt work :( what helped me was finding other mindless activities to do with my hands like doing puzzles or going on drives while listening to podcasts and such. Also when im on my phone i try to focus on sudoku games, word scramble games, stuff like that. Slowly, its gotten better. Dont feel bad about it though, everyone struggles with this ❤️

I remember growing up with Even Stevens and Boy Meets World. I recognized both your guys’ voices right away when Kim Possible came on TV. I’m just so glad that all the old 90s shows are streaming now. The topic of panic attacks are very sensitive to talk about & I'm glad to hear that people are talking about it. I'm 47 & I've been dealing with them in some major or minor way since I was 14yrs old, & it wasn't until I was in my mid 30's that I realized that that's what I had been dealing with all of my life. When I was 14, I didn't deal with rejection very well....so I went from a very social out going kid.....to a kid that was scared to death to be spoken to, much less looked at. I remember from the ages of 14 to my early 20's that I had very minor panic attacks when I had to or needed to be social.....& it took me years, & I'm still learning to this day how to "refind" myself, all through my Aunt Raynell's help and learning to love & accept myself, along with finding who is & isn't best for me to have in my life. In my mid 30's family situations started happening & basically my family, my hopes & dreams, everything.....was slowly falling apart & I couldn't do anything at all to "fix" them. So, I started having panic attacks again....my knees locking up, I couldn't breathe, the world closing in all around me. They were & are very scary for me. Some of the best ways I've learned to deal with them is, "refinding" myself, breaking out of my comfort zones, & now in my late 40's going to the gym & exercising on a regular basis to help with my anxiety & all of the health issues that I deal with. Thank you so much for talking about this topic, I feel so less alone when I hear anyone talk about these matters.

Your walks were legit so comforting to me but as I'm watching this episode, I can see it's the same thing (but with guest!). The topics of anxiety and how social media plays a factor in it is something that we kind of all needed to hear. It's true and yes, I admit that I'm addicted to it. I'm trying to change. I find that keeping busy with things that don't require a phone really helps. I look forward to watching more of these!

Even as a kid, I knew he was something special. I was raised on theater, PBS and was a classic movie connoisseur (as a kid, lol) and always thought to myself, "This kid's got extraordinary acting chops" when watching him. I still remember when we read Stone Soup when I was in Kindergarten. We were all asked to bring a vegetable or something to put in the soup that we were to make, and to this day I remember going to the market with my Dad right before class and buying a Tomato, and how that one Tomato was such a financial burden on us at the time, but my Dad thought it was important that I participate so we got the Tomato. I remember being so proud to bring my Tomato to school and to contribute it to our community Stone Soup lol

Y'all I'm so glad for this episode. Anxiety/panic attacks have become a pretty prevalent part of my life over the last several years and I'm still learning how to successfully deal with it. Also, I love listening to conversations between friends like this. Doesn't matter that I don't know what's going on half the time, it's just a joy to watch the ease of familiarity unfold.

I loved how you guys touched on the "followers" aspect on social media. This is why I have been incredibly adamant about not including a follower count on my websites social media platform. I felt it was unnecessary to bring that kind of toxicity to a site i was building for content creators, where my main goal and purpose was to have a platform where creators can connect, collab, and support one another without "clout" or "popularity" to overshadow creative and unique talent. I really hope this opens people's eyes to the fact that one's worth is not measured by the amount of followers they have. And although this particular trend was a shade move to "lil bow wow" in regards to that short lived internet trend known as "the lil bow wow challenge" I had hoped that would have been the start to realizing that not everything you see on social media is true or real. I already love this podcast and cannot wait to see and hear what you have planned for next week's episode! Wonderful job, all of you!

My partner and i are rewatching bmw and loving it. It is one of the best kid's shows. It is just a really special show that treats kids like actual people. I also know a bit about Will Freidle's struggle with anxiety (I literally also quit acting because auditions are an anxious person's hell) and it is great that he talks about it. I adore him and this show.
