Hey, I've discovered a solution for this issue. It turns out that some PCs lack a combined microphone and headphone jack (TRSS). If your PC has separate mic and headphone jacks (TRS), the fix is straightforward: just grab a TRSS to TRS converter, and voilà-it'll work seamlessly!, Thank me later
Sadly not even the drivers shown in this video could 'repair' my laptop which has so far not picked up either of my lavalier microphones, including the Boya By-M1 mic. I've tried it with an audio splitter cable and also by itself, always with the camera setting on for laptop. Nothing ... it does not find the microphone and it keeps using the microphone inbuilt in the laptop ... .. is there anything at all I can do?? I'm desperate here. I really need a working microphone.
i also dealt with the same issue.but mine got fixed, after downloading driver and restarting computer wait a minute and then everything is back to normal
Hi, does your laptop have a combojack (single jack) or separate jacks for audio / mic? if it's a combojack (most are), you have 2 options: 1. use a Y Splitter Adapter (the one that separates audio jack and mic jack), then buy a TRRS to TRS adapter (BOYA BY-M1 has TRRS [3 poles], you only need TRS [2 poles] for the mic jack). Do note that you will be needing to put an earphones / speaker / bluetooth etc. in the audio jack of the Y Splitter in order to hear the audio output as the combo jack effectively thinks that it has an Audio Out instead of the laptop's built-in speaker EVEN if you didn't plug any in the Audio jack. 2. If you want to use the laptop's speaker AND the microphone. Buy instead a USB External Audio Adapter (similar to this: www.amazon.com/UGREEN-External-Headphone-Microphone-Desktops/dp/B01N905VOY) and again, a TRRS to TRS adapter. Plug the USB plug to your laptop's USB port, then the BOYA (with the TRRS to TRS adapter) to the Microphone Jack (Pink plug). Then in your Sounds -> Recording options, it should detect that there is another plugged in Microphone. Switch to that instead of the default Realtek option (which is the laptop). You should now still be able to use your laptop's speaker AND the BOYA microphone. Hope I helped! I had a similar issue and resolved it using these steps :)
@@vzeravuztpradis3055 yes, that can definitely work :) Same instructions above to make the mic work, then just connect your bluetooth earphone. I do the same for my meetings :)
OMG, you rescued me! My problem was the cable the whole time! Strangely the smartphone cable works with my laptop but not the computer/laptop cable. However: problem solved. Thank you!
awesome! thanks man! you really helped me out with my Boya M1 mic. my problem was not putting it in camera mode, and then i followed your whole setup afterwards. works like a charm now!
for sum reason the download never finishes, even when it says it has completed the 252 mb thge file shows as an "unconfirmed981042.crdownload: not sure what to do at this point.
Hi there. The download took me almost 45 minutes. Though I checked my internet connection was just fine. Make sure that you have the complete file as showed on this video. If you haven't, I would suggest that you re-download it till it's successfully downloaded.
Hi -- I have just downloaded the exact thing you instructed - now, my computer is reading that it is going to take "2 hours" to download.... is this normal??
I don't have a pink connection port. I only have one combined port for headphones and a mic. if I plug the mic in there it gives static feedback even if I select line-in or mic-in on the computer when it asks me what I plugged in.
Hey! I wonder if you have just one more tip? I installed the driver and now I can see the mic under recording / input and the battery works, and it's switched on but it says it's not plugged in... any ideas?
great video :D I bought this mic and your video help me a lot. I was frustrated that it is not working on my laptop... but it turns out that everything is working. Keep making videos like this :) I´m very thankful :D
What to do if the mic is working but the audio in online games doesn't work? Like for PUBG. When used in streaming, the mic is working but I can't hear the sounds while in-game, like the footsteps, my in-game friends voices.
I'm trying to set up the mic but my laptop won't even pick it up at all... When I plug it in my laptop recognises it as headphones, I got a jack that supposedly has a mic and a headphone imput but that doesn't work either... I'm not sure what else to do... The mic itself works, since it works well on my phone but just will not work on my laptop!
thanks for this video...really save my money...i thought mine broke or somthing....the quality just not as good compare to after updating the realtek driver....it really works on my laptop......thanks...
When I use boya m1 on my macbook pro it works really reallly well with the power off on the mic adapter but when I use it on my pc I have to turn on the adapter and my god it's verry verry bad compared to the macbook. There's electrical noises in a constant volume. How do I fix this?
I didn't even know there was a ribbon in the back until your video. It was shoved up under the spring no wonder it was constantly turning off and on. Thank you very much 💞
my boya mic is not working (battery is over, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt work), but why does boya need a battery? it already takes power from pc right?
I have an MM1 and I have been looking alllll over the internet and im ready to pull my beard off my face. I know the mic works, since I have checked it on my gf's iphone. However, we try to use it on my laptop, with windows 10, and its not being recognized. I have already tried all the simple, basic fixes, but it still says 'not plugged in' when I check sound settings. I have no idea what the issue is, and Im very frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
