The At-One’ish stock you are making for Savage to sell on the Wal-Mart MKII-FVSR is amazing. You fixed the only two real problems with the At-One you sell. The high school Ag-Shop sharp angles and the little-too-gawdy plastic pieces. Please put the gen2 into regular production.
Got an AT-1 just the other day for my TC compass 22-250. The versatility of the stock means it can be used by me and my 9 year old son. Love it, thanks for the great product. We will be ordering a few more soon. I'll have a video on my RU-vid channel soon.
One thing that would be awesome is if you guys made the at-one stock but had the more vertical grip like the varmint stock.. the adjustable lop and cheek comb with the flat forend and cut out in the back to rest a rear bag would be the perfect budget precision stock
Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it! Boyds currently offers an accessory attachment for you to change the grip on your At-One to a more vertical, pistol-like grip. You can find the At-One Target Grip on the Accessories page! www.boydsgunstocks.com/accessories/at-one-target-grips-overmold05f9b
My Savage Axis has a bull barrel. The thing is heavy as hell, so I’ll definitely purchase one of your guy’s stocks. My dad has bought one of your stocks for his Browning X-Bolt, and it’s great. Keep up the good work.
Hi, I have a Spanish Mauser 1916 I recieved from a friend in trade for a Ruger Wrangler. I don't care for the Choate stock he set it in as it looks to be a Universal Mauser stock for small and large ring series rifles. There is a lot of excess space on the stock around the action and barrel. I have been eyeing the Classic stock from Boyd's but have a couple of questions. First is how do I determine if I have a #1 or Military barrel on my rifle? Secondly, my rifle doesn't have a factory floor plate, magazine well, and trigger guard. Will I have to try and secure these parts should I buy a Boyd's stock or can I use the trigger guard from the Choate it currently has?
@@kevinortiz1210I think they used to make a stock for the axis 1 not sure about the second generation axis . I love Savage Rifles but the axis is not a design that I would buy. I looked really hard at the Axis 1 but ended up spending a bit more on the model 10 predator hunter in .223 ! The Axis 2 is only slightly better because of the lightening trigger but the stock didn't get any stronger from what I've seen. My Savage / Stevens in .270win is Amazing light strong and pinpoint accuracy ! Plenty of meat in the freezer from that beast !
I have a Brno Model 2 .22 lr rifle (standard barrel and not bull barrel). Do you have a Varmint stock for the same? Couldn't find one on the website. I could see the model 2e bull barrel stock on your website but I am not sure if that would fix on my gun. Please guide. Thanks!
We offer the 2e 22LR with a bull barrel channel at this time. Measure the center to center action screws and if they line up it will work. You'll just have a slightly larger gap between the barrel and stock. From the specs at the bottom of the page: Center to Center of Action Screws: 6 1/8" ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: These stocks are designed using metal trigger guard and floor plate and are made using barrel mounting screw model. If your action has rear receiver mounting screw please review Mag parts (if available).
Absolutely, it means Left Hand Stock with Right Hand Action. The stock will be formed for a left hand shooter while still having right hand bolt action cut.
Can you explain how to measure the forend measurement needed to pick the proper type of forend for the mossberg 500? Im trying to order parts but not sure where to measure. Thanks.
The right stock for me just isn't there. I like the thumbhole stocks made specifically for right- or left-hand shooters. They are not only comfortable but feel more natural when aiming on target. I do have a Spike Camp stock and it just doesn't feel natural in the hand. Most likely because it is not designed specifically for a right- or left-hand shooter. It is nice and light. But I don't like the boxy look of it either compared to the other thumbhole stocks.
We offer the At-One series stocks on our Savage MKII with Bull Barrel Channel. If your model has a factory barrel channel it will drop in just fine, but there will be a slightly larger gap on each side of the barrel. Our barrel dimensions are Point A = 13/16" and Point B = 13/16". www.boydsgunstocks.com/product-configurator/at-one-savage-mkii-434121y74zz
I have an at-1 stock and the only thing is check piece only has one position that you can make it adjuste to only works in that place you can put it all the way down in the second circle it doesn't adjust but to that one position and that sucks can you help me with this problem?
Hey Lewis, Give our Customer Service team a call to see what we can do for you. Please have your order number ready for our team to review, 605-996-5011.
Choosing the right gunstock comes with a lot of factors. If you use a larger scope or taller rings, we recommend something with a Monte Carlo or an adjustable comb. It's entirely personal preference if you prefer a thumbhole or a traditional stock, a thumbhole provides added stability. With colder weather, you may need to adjust your length of pull depending on bulky clothing, for that the At-One or At-One Thumbhole is the best option. I have a CZ 457 American in 22 WMR. When using your webpage I found a disclaimer that the At-One thumbhole stock was based on a 22 caliber. Will this fit my rifle or will i need to do some modifications?
I purchased a Boyd's thumb hole stock from OptiPlanet and the stock fit well, the finish not so much. I think the stock was returned because the finish was worn due to poor packaging, probably why the price was discounted. I have to find out the Poly/Gloss finish Boyd use and apply some myself.
Can i get one with no finish applied ? I want the Pro Varmint, but will thin down the forearm almost as thin as a hunting stock, so it would be a waste to do that on a clear coat.
Yes, you can select unfinished for the Pro Varmint shape. The only shapes that cannot be ordered unfinished are: Agility, At-One, At-One Thumbhole, and Spike Camp.
i had 2 stock one for tikka 3 and one for browning 6.5 creedmore both magazine not fit right so i took it gun smith more money still not loading ammo need to push it up
I have a newer Savage 110 Hog Hunter with detachable box magazine, and I want to put this gun in your Pro Varmit stock, will this fit? On your website when i select hog hunter it only gives me a blind magazine option. What is the upc for the correct stock for my savage? I want to use my oem dbm mags, Thanks
We offer the rotary style magazine for the Savage Axis short action which fits the Axis II. As long as you do not have an AR style magazine, our stock will work for your rifle.
Will the Pro Varming be able to accept a Varmint contour Heavy Barrel, like an .800 muzzle 28inch Barrel or will I have to do some work on the stock to clearance that type of barrel.
The Pro Varmint can be opened up if we do not offer the Varmint/Bull Barrel Channel for your specific make. Measurements for our barrel channels are at the bottom of the stock's page listed at Point A and B. Here's where Point A and B are located: www.boydsgunstocks.com/content/how-to-select-a-gunstock/barrel-contour-dimensions
@@boydsgunstocks Thank you for the clarification. My Barrel dimensions are essentially the same as the savage model 12FV. Do you offer those dimensions already cut in the stock or would I have to do It myself.
@@boydsgunstocks ok. That's great. But I have a Savage model 111 DM with Bottom Bolt release. Can you do the 12FV barrel contour on my 111 action for the Pro Varmint sctock.
@@dennisowen3717 We only offer the factory barrel channel for Detachable Mag on the 111 BBR. If it's out of these specs you'll need to open the Pro Varmint barrel channel once you receive it: Barrel Dimensions: Point A = 1 5/16" and Point B = 3/4"
It's all personal preference and what you use the stock for. For hunting involving lots of walking or backwoods hiking, we recommend something light, either the Featherweight Thumbhole or Spike Camp. For target and prone shooting, we recommend the At-One series due to it's versatility and adjustability. Lastly, if you're a traditionalist, we recommend the Classic, Prairie Hunter, Platinum, or Heritage. Check out the Gallery page for more information on each of our shapes and their benefits. www.boydsgunstocks.com/gallery#shapes

Length of pull is based on your body proportions and the distance from your trigger finger to the end of the buttstock, not model specific. If you have a gun that you're comfortable shooting we recommend measuring that LOP. Here's how to measure your Length of Pull: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qOgIPbzKHWI.html
i just purchased a featherweight for my savage 11. it has a bottom bolt release. do i only need the metal plate for the clip to go in or is there more to the assembly that is needed. i cant find any video or any answer on the boyds site, on midway or on brownells.
@@hunterm7327 i had to take it to a gunsmith . couldnt find the parts on any site. the gunsmith found a place to have it milled. it wont be ready until the end of january. it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get the part back to assemble. the part cost as much as the stock. i m a little disappointed.
The Prairie Hunter and Heritage are exactly the same except the forends. The Prairie Hunter has a hand-conforming forend and the Heritage is a smooth round forend. Heritage stocks can have full wrap laser engravings which wrap around the bottom of the forend. See our Gallery page for examples of full wraps. www.boydsgunstocks.com/gallery#etching
BOYDS BOYDS BOYDS….please I’m begging you please come up with a stock for the Air Venturi Avenger air rifle. They have sold thousands of them I bet you could sell a ton of stocks. Please consider 🙏😄
Do I get a long or short action for my Savage axis xp 6.5 Creedmoor? I know 6.5 is a short action caliber, but I think all the axis calibers are long action with a magazine buffer for short action calibers. Basically making up the difference in length in the magazine well area if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, which do I get from you guys?
The 6.5 Creedmoor would need a short action stock. You can find action length based on your caliber using this tool on our website: www.boydsgunstocks.com/short-or-long-action
The At-One, Pro Varmint, and Heritage weigh approximately 3 LBS and the Spike Camp weighs 2.5 LBS. On the Gallery page, you can find weight and tech specs of all Boyds shapes under More Info +. www.boydsgunstocks.com/gallery#shapes
Prairie Hunter, but this would be similar to the Classic design with the hand-conforming forend. The only difference is Prairie Hunter stocks have a Monte Carlo comb.
NEVER get the textured paint. It looks and feels like a toddler did it and comes right off. I whole heartedly regret getting the pro varmint with the textured paint. I will be getting a featherweight thumb hole stock for it in woodland.
Pick another brand, Boyd's suck. You will have to do many hours of work try and make it work. And then it still won't work. It's not my gun as in about 45 seconds I can put it in It's original stock and works great.
Just fitted a boyds stock to a ruger m77 in 308 ! Perfect drop in fit and finish is damm good no sharp splinters polish is great and the checkering is spot on crisp and clean .
I recently purchased one boyds spike camp stocks for my savage 116 7mm-08 and I fell the quality is excellent. The action fits tight in the stock and the barrel is nicely floated with an even gap on both sides. The fit and Finnish is excellent. And it 9nly cost $120 for a left hand thumbhole stock that nobody else even offers.
