It always makes me laugh whenever they describe a murder victim as a ‘loveable rogue’, which is clearly code for ‘mouthy thieving wanker who could start a fight in an empty room, the thieving twat’.

As an hopeless pessimist, this ressonates with me at a molecular level. Diane is a treasure.

It’s true, I say this during every murder documentary. Nobody ever says “ to be honest Jim was a nosy, busybody, dogooding twat, nobody liked him. We really weren’t that bothered when we heard he was dead” It’s just convinced me that people lie when they are Interviewed for these things.

My favourite bit that really made me laugh is when she says "when someone dies they say he's gone to a better place. He must have had a pretty awful life if you think that six feet underground is a better place!" That really made me chuckle 😂

In the US, we don't use the word "destroyed" like that. Instead, we're clumsy -- we "lose" loved ones, and if the solution is simply to look harder for them.

I was wheezing laughing when she got to the "flying through the windshield" bit. I love watching this woman

So happy to have found Diane Morgan on RU-vid I didn't know she was out there. Her humour is typically Lancastrian which as a Yorkshireman I appreciate as our two counties are quite close. I've often been called a pessimist where I now live in Mansfield, but when I broke my ankle while potholing back in 1986, that was my attitude... "At least I can have a few weeks off now".

Couldn’t agree more about people saying murdered girls are pretty and that boys are always wonderful and highly thought of. I alway say the same as she did…” not to the murderer he wasn’t.” And when they say that a murder was surprising because it was such small quiet place where everyone knows everyone. Murders happen anywhere. If there were only 3 people left on the planet, one has the potential to be a killer; one the victim and the third an accomplice or a witness.

The positive thinking bit resonated with me just a tad. When still a teenager back in about 1983 or thereabouts, I had a mishap on my bicycle whilst travelling down a steep hill at great speed. I was launched into the air over the handlebars as my bike crumpled beneath me. To this day over 40 years later I can still remember vividly being in the air for several seconds thinking to myself "Thank fxxk there's no traffic coming up the hill.." and then "but this is probably going to hurt a lot..." As it happens... I ended up avoiding hospital treatment. Was just badly grazed in a few places. To the bone on my elbow. But it healed fine with chemist bought products. We were proper 'ard back then I tell you. lol Mind, it DID help that the first car up the hill as I came to a final halt at least 50 feet away my now wrecked bike, and about 30 feet from my spectacles which had departed my face on impact with the road luckily, was being driven by a doctor.. Who after watching me leap to my feet cursing loudly at my stupid bike, informed me that in his professional opinion I was fine to walk home and treat my wounds with bandages and savlon etc. (I lived 5 minutes walk away. 50 yards from the nearest chemist luckily lol)

That’s the first thing I felt when I had my recent bike accident “Oh, I guess I won’t have to go to work for awhile” 😂

My dad had a friend he worked with. The guy died in a work accident, my dad went to his house to give condolences to the guy's family. The guy's wife told my dad he shouldn't have come because as soon as the guy died their lives became better. Apparently the guy was a big time asshole to his own family and the wife had no qualms telling everyone at the funeral.

Excellent stand-up technique and material.
