My school is actually not that bad but we have barbed wire fences to stop you from climbing out, not inwards to protect the school from people coming in. Just to stop you from leaving 😂

Idk but I get the feeling kids in the UK tend to get homesick very fast. In almost all of the shows where they went away from parents, some of them cried.

I swear I used to watch something similar to this on CBBC when I was like 12 it was set in WW2 and they were sent to the countryside as "refugees" and they had food from the wartime like nettle soup and they got scolded because the girls thought in order to increase their time in the morning they'd sleep in their frocks and petticoats and the "mum" yelled at them because they were all creased xxx

They did. All of them had to audition to get on the show. But just like in the military, some of them have warped expectations about what the day to day stuff was actually like and wanted to go.
