@@roxanacardenas1142 For me I went the first time where you get xrays, then they will have you another time to see any development. After that, they will have your parents fill out the payment plan for the braces and make your appointment. I had to wait a year until my braces appointment was scheduled because I am really far behind on mouth growth.

What is the purpose of the blue rubber band and why do you put them on every bracket? Are they necessary during the whole trearment?

It's not better, it just serves a different purpose. Generally power chains are used to close gaps once the teeth have been aligned.

Hi Jean we understand braces can be expensive but there is a lot of factors involve just for example The brackets and wires that make up braces are more complex than they seem upon first glance. Moving teeth requires time and the right amount of pressure from the devices. If the teeth are moved at the wrong pace, it could seriously damage the teeth. The intricate details of the brackets and the expertise of the dentist allow the teeth to move at the proper pace. Higher quality orthodontic materials also increase the price, and the quality of appliances used does significantly impact the results of your treatment.
