Actually it's kind of cool to see Brad like this... all of the inhibitions are gone and he will essentially say what the alcohol wants him to rather than what everyone else wants him to.
iBolt07 Brad seem to have a reputation of being a bad guy, bad attitude etc. but I always thought he was pretty down to earth and straightforward. He's not perfect and clean cut. He seems like a regular, blue collar guy, just living out his dream but he can really wheel a car around
Man, I am surprised that nascar let him do that interview drunk. I thought they would've wanted him to do it and be a pro. Not drunk but lol this was funny.
All hail not just a Sprint Cup Champion, but a MAN who is simply HONEST.. No sugar coating.. No kids' gloves.. He tells it like it is, straight and to the point..
The people saying its a disgrace for him to be in the position he was in and drunk on tv completely missed out on a point that was made. Political correctness just gives people like you all an excuse to whine. What, oh hes setting a bad example? Raise your kids right and they wont have to worry about it. If you let one persons interview effect you that bad, i guess you haven't seen much in life. He wasn't on CNN or fox news giving a planned interview. He just won a championship in nascar. The first thing they gave him was a pitcher of beer. Let him have fun for goodness sake. Dont act all self righteous like you wouldnt let loose or ever make a mistake like that. Because the people that say they wont are the first ones to fail.
+Kevin Clarke Of who? Of the guy celebrating one of the greatest - if not *the* greatest - moments of his life? Or, the assholes who *knowingly* (and almost certainly purposefully), put him on television in that state???
This is just so awesome. NASCAR drivers are real people. This is why NASCAR is awesome. And still professional through it all. So cool! Yeah let him celebrate!
Back in the day, drivers like Curtis Turner used to SHOW UP like that before a race, sometimes still wearing the clothes from the night before. This kid is hilarious...
how can you not love this guy? his dad held the banner high for my beloved Chrysler corporation when nobody else was driving a dodge. and now his son wins the cup when dodge is pulling out of nascar. God bless him!
Hahahahah this is like 3 yrs old & still funny as hell!! Brad will forever be 1 of my favorite drivers!! He's a champion & races hard like 1 daily! Also speaks his mind & ain't afraid to do so!! Fuck the haters!!! #2Crew #PenskePride
YOU DA MAN BRAD!!! thank you for finally winning that championship for Penske in the Blue Deuce, been a fan of that car and team since the days of ol' Rusty Wallace!!
That's true. I meant that in modern context. I think of the "modern" cars and drivers starting in the mid 90s when Gordon started winning with Hendrick motorsports. No one can or will ever replace Dale, because we'll never go back to non-restrictor plate, non-HANS device days. That man is and will be a legend for as long as the sport is around.
I am absolutely delighted that Brad won the Nascar Sprint Cup Title this year. I seriously could not be happier. I, first and foremost, wanted anyone but Johnson. Brad I started to like last year. He has become my second favorite next to Jeff Gordon. I’ve been a Gordon fan since 1995. He will no doubt succeed Jeff in my mind as the future of racing. I look forward to watching him defend his title. Nascar’s future is looking bright.
"I've had a couple beers..." Yeah, a couple of those monster boots. Good on ya, BK, I'm not a huge Blue Deuce fan but I can't help but like this guy. Beats seeing Five-Time become Six-Time, for sure.
I thought this was the most honest and direct of any driver ever interviewed in the sport. Great answers and he and his crew have more than earned the right to celebrate. Way to go BK!!!!
hey he was drunk but gotta give it to him, held his composure during the interview better than some would. and he just won , who wouldnt get hammered after a win. i got respect for him for keeping it 100!
This is back when racing was still fresh, exciting and interesting. Now they just tell you what's going to be "exciting" and we're supposed to be expected to fall for it.
Ok I've got a new found respect for BK. Coming from a KB fan, lets say I don't normally root for BK, but he had me laughing with him the entire interview.
A lot of people don't realize what Brad Keselowski has accomplished. His rookie year was 2009, and he won a championship in 2012. That's unheard of. The best whoever did that was Denny Hamlin who came in 2nd in 2010 (whose rookie year was 2006). Even Clint Bowyer (who started in 2006) came in 2nd behind Keselowski is still impressive.
Absolutely the same boat as you man. Gordon fan my whole life, Brad is my guy to take over as my new favorite once Jeff starts the down slope of his career. Anyone but Jimmie.
