I love this song, even though it rips my guts out every time. I have long been a fan of Alison Krauss, she has the most pure voice I have ever heard. Wonderful reaction Biss, I am crying with you kid.
@@BisscuteReacts May I suggest you listen to Kieth Whitley "don't close your eyes". I thought of this song when you said you were going to listen to more country songs and ones with a darker side.
I 100% agree with you about sad songs, the main reason for me to watch reactions of this song is to see if people share the same feeling, yours is one of the best I've seen
me and a few of my navy buddies experienced being cheated on... ive spent many a night with close friends crying and singing to this song... thanks for embracing the emotions so readily!
I can definitely relate to the obvious “message” in this song. I feel like so many (especially U.S. soldiers, not sure about other countries) can directly relate to this. I just wish she would have said she can’t handle the pressure or the desire for her needs to be met. It happened to me 2 times. The aftermath of figuring that out in a wartime combat situation was so much more than what I was trained to deal with. Alcohol became my peace, and almost ended my life when I got back. I do enjoy that they also convey both sides of the issue. I can understand where she was coming from, and I experienced where it put me. I’ve since forgiven her and found the queen/woman and step children that made my life whole. The negative impact of the bombs and bullet wounds, the losing my leg, and constant memory are mostly drowned out by the positive impact of their love and the sense of purpose they give me! We are all beautifully different and deal with things differently, but I hope that my message and experience can help someone else who is going through hell. There is a positive outcome if you just weather the storm. I promise life is so much better than the dark periods we go through. You are all amazing human beings!
@@jeffreystephen7116 it hurts man, i couldnt imagine finding out in the box, but it was almost too much when i got home, i got to the point of finger on the trigger twice, then kicked myself in the ass, and got my head back on straight, thank you for your service, brother, and im glad your here with us still
It’s an entire emotional drama, plot and all, in 5 minutes. That’s why some folks like it. I don’t do dramas, too long. Ballads work, though…except for the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Great reaction, Bisscute! Alison Krauss is one of my favorite female singers. She has such a beautiful voice. If you are going to add country to your rotation, you have to listen to more from her. She has 27 Grammy award wins! That was the most by any female singer until Beyonce passed her recently. I've seen her live, and her voice is exquisite.
This is why I always loved Country Music and it is my favourite music genre. It hits the soul and the old saying about it that all you need are 3 chords and the truth. You add to that Alison Krauss' sweet voice and it is magic.
You know a song is great when it hits you in the feels! Never apologize for crying Biss it shows you have empathy! The world needs more empathy if you ask me! Great reaction and great song! Thanks for sharing Biss ❤️💛🤠
If you love depressing songs, and you’re trying to explore more country, the next song after this that you HAVE TO LISTEN TO is “Believe” by Brooks & Dunn, and make sure it’s the official video. That song along with this one are two of the most common songs people name when they talk about gut wrenching country songs with heartbreaking lyrics.
I've been listening to Metal fir 42 years now. My mother started my aff on The Beatles and my father on Johnny Cash before that. But Brad Paisley is the Man! This song always makes me cry. I love yer emotions! I love yer tears! I live that you are so genuine! Please don't change! 🤘🏻🇬🇧🖤
I love Brad and Alison sings like an angel. She was also a child star on the fiddle. Recently she's been touring with Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin. She played a large part in the music for "O Brother Were Art Thou." Great reaction! Brad, Chet Atkins, Keith Urban and Tommy Emmanuel are my favorite pickers.
The raw emotion that you exuded in this reaction was beautiful, I find the tears in a womans eyes to be attractive and full of letting go and being vulnerable and passive and huggable all at once! This was a great reaction!
Great Reaction Video...... This Song is a Rollercoaster...... The Actor playing the Soldier is Rick Schroder (Child Star from a show called "Silver Spoons" and as an adult on "NYPD Blue"...... He was also the Video's Director and the Girl at the End that watches their spirits walk away is Rick's Daughter....... Alison is a Legend..... I believe she still holds record for most Grammy's...... 36, I think..... Brad is a phonenominal Song Writer........ He has both Touching and Funny Songs in his library (Others have listed alot before me)....... To get an understnding of his outlook listen to a song called "This is Country Music".........
This is the first time I've heard this one. I got into Country in the 90s, so my Country knowledge is from that era and then backwards mostly, but I really haven't kept up with newer Country over the last 20 or 25 years. I know Brad Paisley is a big deal, but I don't really know him that well. Allison Krauss I do know. I believe that she started performering very young, as a little girl doing Bluegrass. Bluegrass is a sub genre of Country that I think comes out of Appalachia. The Appalachian Mountains are a range of mountains in the East of the US that run all the way up to Canada, but usually when you hear people talk about the Appalachians, it's usually in relation to the Southern end in the Southern states. When I had commented to you about Dolly Parton, I told you that she was from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, which I think are part of the Appalachians. Basically when you here people refer to it, the implication is that you're talking about some real back woods, mountain hillbilly folk kind of thing that isn't usually very flattering. So, Bluegrass is like a more acoustic style of music that involved a lot of instruments like guitar, fiddle, and banjo, that sort of evolved out of English/Scottish/Irish folk music of the people that settled up in the Appalachian Mountains. Anyway, she joined a group called Union Station at the end of the 80s, and I think are still with them, but in the mid 90s, they had a huge hit with a cover song called "When You Say Nothing At All", that was more mainstream Country, and even Pop. She really blew up after that because everyone was so amazed with her. So besides I think still being with Union Station, everyone wanted to collab with her, so she's worked with so many people, even Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, and she did music for movie soundtracks like the movies "Cold Mountain" and "O' Brother, Where Art Thou". Drinking away a memory or a broken heart is a pretty classic theme in Country music. At the beginning, I thought this was going to be like Sawyer Brown's "All These Years", although that song is a little more nuanced, and doesn't get as traumatic as anyone killing themselves, but they were a good band in the 90s, and it's probably my favorite song of theirs, that's a very beautiful song about infidelity, but not quite as depressing. I think I've seen that somewhat recently they've even done like an Unplugged version of it that you can find, though I'm personally kind of partial to the original.
It's a powerful song, no doubt. I love it every time I hear it and it makes me cry all the same. Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss have such powerful voices to sing a story.
Alison Krauss has a version of "Down to the river to pray" which is AMAZING. (old time "gospel"/religious-leaning song) Featured in the movie "Old Brother Where Art Thou" and no matter how many times you hear it, her version just "hits something" inside you that makes it kind of both mandatory to suggest and addictive to listen to.
You're not crazy and you're not the only one who feels like that. I understand everything you said. it's like you are more connected to humanity when your emotions are out where all can see. thank you for showing yours.
Country is about stories in a way that’s distinct from any other genre. So often, really good country music centers on a simple and plainly told story that is broadly relatable.
Great reaction Bisscute... it always comes down to a decision that is not weighted carfully; one that is made based on themselves not others.. .... The female singer is Allison Kraus.. pure tone beautiful and one of the few singers that is pitch perfect. If you love this song wheich sounds lie you do very much you will Love Martina McBrides "A Broken Wing"
I love Rick Schroeder.. his acting was perfection.. his directing was perfection.. his daughter was the luttle girl.. Loved his interpretation of the song into the video to tell the story.. showing consequences.. But Schroeder added the souls reuniting and his forgiveness.. I hope heaven is about forgiveness and reuniting.
I love your reactions, and I had a feeling you'd love this one before I watched the video. I completely agree with what you're saying about sad songs. They hit harder and are definitely more packed with emotion. It's good to cry to songs. Reminds us that we're human. I also agree with your comment about, "you made your bed, you lie in it" - a great rule to live by. Keep up the great work, much love ♥
I'm not big on country music, but I'm from Kansas, so I've been exposed to a lot of it. This, however, is a truly great song, and I will always have time for it. As a person who is not a fan of country music, I would also suggest Martina McBride's Independence Day.
One of the saddest songs ever, and one of the best first lines of a song ever. "She put him out, like the burning end of a midnight cigarette". This is the sort of song that country does better than anyone. It's raw, real, emotional, and doesn't paint anyone as a true good or bad person. Everyone involved is just... human. Have you heard "Stay" by Sugarland yet?
This is a man's nightmare... Go overseas to fight for your country and keep your family safe, only to come home and see your woman starting a family without you .. heartbreak 💔
Brad Paisley is one of the most emotive country artists of all time. Give him a chance to bring your heart joy. Watch his official video for the song "Today." Every bit as moving as "Whiskey Lullaby," but with a theme that will uplift your heart. A couple other songs that get me in the feels every single time is "What Hurts The Most" and "Here Comes Goodbye" - in that order - by Rascal Flatts. They go together.
Love it when songs really hit home your not crazy what songs do is touch you in a way makes you think about your on life and mistakes this one is my favorite
Nothing matters when you think you’ve got it or can’t lose it. Everything matters when you realise you don’t, never will, or never did. Great reaction Biss, love your work.
He has some good ones. Try "Waiting on a Woman", "Ticks" or "The man he didn't have to be". For her try "When you say nothing at all" or "Down to the river to pray". Good reaction. Country is a long line of honest storytelling.
Brad Paisley is from my home state of West Virginia. He's a real talent at vocals and guitar playing both. He writes a lot of he's own songs. I could have told you to have a box of tissues handy. Where I'm from they call that cry in your beer music.😭🍺💔
That is a beautiful song, and the kind of country music that I like. I like sad songs sometimes too. It allows a cathartic release of emotions in a healthy way.
Q: What happens when you play your Country music records backwards? A: You sober up, your wife comes back, your dog comes back, you get your pickup truck back, your daddy gets out of prison.... 😉😉
Allison Krauss "When you Say Nothing At All" A cousin of mine had that played at her wedding. Allison has ton of hit songs, and 27 Grammys awards to back that up. Including two collabs with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. Sugarland "Stay" is another heartbreaker. A definite 'depressy' song for you. I like them also, there is a catharsis listening to them.
This song hits home and hits hard. I've lost more brothers to the fallout of coming home than I did in theater. This is a song I love and hate at the same time. This, and Sawyer Brown's "All These Years" are painful, but something about it keeps drawing you back.
The actor's name in the music video is Rick Schroeder and he's pretty well known. And the little girl at the end is his real life daughter I believe. Brad Paisley's wife is named Kimberly Williams Paisley who is also a well-known actress.
Bisscute, you just reacted to two of the Heavyweights in country Music. Try Brad singing, "When I Get To Where I'm Going....ft. Dolly Parton", or " The Dad He Didn't Have To Be". Here are a couple of gems from Alison Krauss, "When You Say Nothing At All", or "Just A Ghost In This House". Alison has the voice of an angel!!
I agree. I love depressing and heart felt songs as well. they just bring some emotion out of me when maybe i have not been able to feel certain things for a while and it helps me to remember that I am human and have that side of me as well.
Your not crazy, people arnt always as honest as you that what makes people special because when thy have compassion it's real buity, those who show mercy will be shown mercy, never apologize for crying this worlds suffering Some day pain will be no more your such a precious person biss have a good one❤😮😢😂😊
A couple of additional songs. For another heartfelt song by Brad, consider "Waitin' On a Woman". For a sad but hauntingly beautiful song consider "Jacob's Dream" by Alison Krauss. It is based on a true story and have your tissues ready. Great reaction.
I love country music, and this one is a really nice song from Brad and Alison! I know what you're saying, 'tis beautiful and full of emotions! I love it when you get angry, when you cry. I love your reaction! You're beautiful!
I am writing this to help out bisscute and this video and this channel with the algorithm everyone hit the like button and the share button and copy the link it helps bisscute a lot and check out her other channels and her twitch channel and most importantly her Patreon 🥺🙏
I disagree with people having "needs" that cause them to do stuff like this to others. You have wants, desires, urges, but none of those are a NEED. Diabetics NEED insulin to survive. Some people NEED medication to survive. No one NEEDS sex to survive, especially when you're screwing over someone risking their life for your freedoms. I will always fight back on people's NEEDS when it's really just something they want.
We have physical needs. Being dismissive of those needs and pretending that we’re a monogamous species is a bad play. Look at all the suffering that has caused.
Cry all you need to. I cry a little every time I hear it. I hope it sends a message to people that we aren't just animals. We should consider all of our actions. Feelings and urges can be important, but if they rule your life then you will probably be left disappointed. Peace, Love!!
I always thought sad songs made me in a better mood when I was sad. Why I fell in love with country music as a young adult even though friends gave me hard time
What a great reaction you just had. You are very real and sincere, I appreciate that. Alan Jackson has many songs you will love, but “Remember When” is my favorite and I know now you will love it too.
Well Biss you've done it again. I've come to the conclusion that the songs you really like are the songs that hit way too close to home for me personally. Keep being you Mel, we ❤you and as always, BIG HUGS from America!
"Yeah, give me the female vocals now. I'm not struggling already enough as it is." lol I feel this line. I listen to goth music and I think this song is depressing as hell. Only you could have gotten me to listen to it again.
If that's how you feel about depressing songs then you must listen to Hardy's song "Wait in the Truck". You will absolutely love it. You should also listen to "Give Heaven some Hell" also by Hardy.
