Yeah he had a very strong southern accent when he was young, which is kinda different from his image. Not meaning that southerns are not handsome. The southern accent gives us feeling that he is much more like a ordinary person we could meet in daily life, rather than a movie star
He is from Blaine, Tennessee. He is still beloved from what his fans leave his grave site: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kir5l5hZ9G8.html
@Sebastian 🤘 This year marks the 30th of River Phoenix's passing, we were blessed to have Brad take over after 1993 for a little while ! I believe Natalie Merchant's song "River" resonates for the both of them ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HZbPnkWsr0Y.html
I'm so surprised by the way he responds ! This is the first time I'm watching his interview. I'm from a generation where male stars like him don't exist! So humble!!
He looks very tough, and kind of way ahead of his years while speaking at this age. He is authentic and such a very polite young man here. True, he is not with us anymore, but he left a very indelible mark for himself for the craft that chose him. Rest in peace bruh.
the director said "get me a tough kid" and brad really was...cuz all the other kids who auditioned acted tough but it came off as silly and not believable unlike with brad
He's so beautiful, the southern drawl and how close and honest he speaks to the interviewer. It just reminds me of how much we should treasure good people when we still have them
A kid who grew up way to fast and is very articulate with his words . I wish he was grounded and surrounded by people that love him . His own mom was giving him drugs,he said . I think he needed someone that said no or you can’t do that . Just wish he had more time . Such a great talent . Loved him in sleepers ❤️. May his beautiful soul rest
They both feel so uncomfortable in this interview, because the lady didn't know that Brad was different from most of the kids his age. He broke that robotic rhythm of her questions more than once, and I can see he felt upset and even kind of offended by her not giving a fuck about his answers, because she was only doing the interview as a job and not because she was really interested about anything he had to say, that's why, as a slap with a white glove, he made that comment about the interview being not natural and irrelevant. God, he was brilliant, and yes, he also was rebellious and tough. He's so underrated that hurts, a genius actor and musician, a very smart and handsome kid that this lady definitely couldn't handle
@@freddycalipari4242 why? that's what young girls and women have to deal with. maybe be better fathers, don't abandon your sons and raise them properly and girls wouldn't have to put up with their nonsense.
I was gonna say the exact same thing. I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone was agreeing with my thoughts. "You did drugs?" Bu... What?? I mean, it's ironic, thinking about the fact that in the movie they try to ask Mark weird questions about the murder and here the actor receives the same treatment. Go figure if an interviewer asked that, and so casually, to an adult star. ...Weird, really..
Shame that this young man passed away. Never knew that happen. Very talented, bright and good looking. He could have made acting his career. First and ONLY time I saw him was in the Client...RIP....
He has that look of a tragic soul sometimes you can see it you can see it if you watch Robin Williams movies they always have a look of hiding a million tears behind a smile
What u mean he partied and he did drugs and let them get the best of him just like majority of celebs. No disrespect but he was caught in the Hollyweird game
@@erickrodriguez6736 Without clarity of what he actually went through, it's only speculation for outsiders like us. It's not always a case of "letting" them. You do realize there's high level Mafioso criminals amongst Hollywood who can rape you at a moments notice? And they run the courts so good luck receiving any form of justice.
Also, in reality the Mafia has no morals or code like they pretend in their sugarcoated movies. They are deeply involved in every crime you could possibly imagine.
@Serena is the B.O.A.T. What are you on about? He played and lost the Hollywood game. Partied hard, overdosed and died. That is the Hard Hollywood game that so many people try and play buy most lose their souls to. LOL!
I loved him in "The Cure". It's been 20 years since I watched that movie and today I am going to watch it again, so i made some research on the actors and found out he passed away in 2008. What a tragic. He was so talented.
His performance in The Client was one of the best I'd ever seen from a child actor. He was also amazing in the 1995 film The Cure. It's sad now watching him in anything and knowing he is no longer with us. RIP Brad.
since the beginning of 2022 I've been thinking a lot about Brad, his image doesn't leave my mind. whenever I think about his tragic end and how he needed help. so young, talented, i wish i had met this boy and helped him. rest in peace dear Brad.
I was in New Orleans in Sept. 1993 when they were filming The Client. I saw Brad running around the edges of the set on Bourbon Street, without apparent supervision, filled with attitude and flipping the bird to strangers. I didn't know who he was and was surprised to see he was an actor and part of the film.
No, I was vacationing there and spent some time hanging around the set, watching director Joel Schumacher set up the shots they were filming on Bourbon Street. I was an extra for the rehearsals, but didn't want to wait around for them to film the shot. It was a lot of waiting.
I felt so sad watching this interview, I just watched his movie called The Cure where on that movie his friend died too soon... but ended up he would go first to heaven. I hope he's doing great up there somewhere! Thank you man, you were awesome! Rest in peace.
I’m really sorry that a lot of film directors and casting directors weren’t very kind or helpful to Brad Renfro, because he had a lot of potential as an actor.
I loved Brad so much growing up. I miss him a lot and I turned to my love for him a lot when I was struggling with my own addiction. He did have times when he was clean and I admired him so much for that. When he relapsed and overdosed, it honestly scared me out of ever relapsing again. I wish he were still here today. Also these are really inappropriate questions wth..
Yeah these questions are annoying. She was so obviously trying to bait him and make him admit to things or paint a juicy picture on camera. He was a handsome kid, and all of these Hollywood adults sexualized him like right off the bat. Scum bags like Larry Clark. No one was protecting this boy. Not from other adults, and not from himself. Brad Renfro was a prodigy. He was incredibly talented.
@Elisia_Girl02 Netflix is different in every country. I'm in the Netherlands. Btw it's 3 months ago so things might have already changed, they change things up all the time.
This is the first time I've seen this interview. I just rewatched The Client last night, and I loved it. The way he talks about his grandmother is so lovely. I love the way he talks about her. He seems so humble and such a sweet kid. It's such a shame we lost him. Brad Renfro was such a great actor and loved a lot of the movies he was in.
Brad was a good actor. There was definitely some foreshadowing to his life when he talked about drug addiction. I think his best performance was in the movie bully by Larry Clark. Very disturbing movie.
that man is part of the reason why Brad is dead. He was one of the men who sexually abused him throughout his career. there were scenes in the bully that brad did not want to do so larry Clark would get brad drunk in order to get him to comply with the scenes. Bryan singer and Larry Clark.
A year before he played Huck Finn RIP One of those few young Hollywood actors from the South Many Southern actors like Lucas Black and others are not appreciated enough since Hollywood tends to look down upon them
Watching very early Elvis Presley interviews, there seems to be quite a resemblance how both Presley and Renfro present themselves as being humble and very polite.
I mis him...a truly and a dearest friend ....he was always friendly and handsome to me...River Phoenix ,Brad Renfro..they are gone to soon...♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏 r.i.p.
Not to disrespect Brads legacy. I got the pleasure of knowing him a little bit. He's been on my mind a lot lately. I'm not sure if its his energy I feel, or what. With the awareness of Hollywood and how they prey on little kids.. hearing this made me feel sad. Anyone else pick up on that? "They come around the school and stuff" and specifically went to a D.A.R.E class and his teacher recommended him. I hope parents re-consider allowing their children to work for these evil people. It truly breaks my heart how such a young sweet soul died the way he did. I miss you Brad. I know this physical life is temporary, but I hope I get to meet you again on the other side without all this evil crap.
Well spoken. I was approached to put my children into modelling and acting but a few days before we were meant to go to my kid's big meeting "my family on the otherside" warned me NOT to go. The agents called and emailed for a few months but I didn't engage with them again. I feel so bad for kid's who have parents that don't know any better or would look the other way. Not all trafficked people leave home
No. He's trying to articulate *how* he came into contact with the DARE Pig. Likely having the foresight to avoid drug use questions as he was certainly dabbling in them by this time. You heard his half-truth answer(s). "Hollywood" was reaching out to Police & whoever else they could trying to find an "authentic" ToUgH kiD to cast for the film. Sad story *for sure* but you're reading the pages upside down on this one.
The director was looking for a newbie kid who had true grit and street smarts. The cop who did DARE at his school knew the casting director and recommended Brad for the role to the casting agent. I don’t think Hollywood has agents stationed in cities around America going to schools to find broken kids to ship to Hollywood and make semi stars in order to abuse …but certainly wouldn’t be surprised
I like his way of talking. It's not typical boy of his age. He and Mary-Louise Parker fit well as mom and son. They have some slight similarity I think.
Natural direct and open. Above and beyond his obvious gifts as an artist. Should have been cherished, respected and looked after by the adults surrounding him. That didn't happen.
What amazing responses from Brad at that time of the interview. You know it just seems like we have lost so many wonderful stars. Lost too many too soon. I believe that if Brad were still alive, it would have been up there with Heath Ledger
I am a Spanish speaker and I am used to one kind of American accent, but his accent is just so beautiful, it makes him sound even more smart and direct. I love Brad, I just knew about him and I am watching his movies, he was enormously talented ✨
I remember back 1993 when I was 10yrs old my mother talking to me about a book she finished called "The Client" By John Grisham. I was intrigued on what she told me about the book. Shortly after that, THEY CAME OUT WITH THE MOVIE!! My Mom and I loved that movie and how Brad Renfro was amazing. Next year my Mother and I watched "The Cure" ANOTHER GREAT MOVIE!! that we loved!! Unfortunately in time we lost Brad because of drugs, and I lost my Mother at the age of 56 due to drugs!! I'm thankful for the memories and I'm still pushing for THE CURE to help anyone in need!! I had to Cure my thoughts after seeing this video for the first time...#Love
That’s certainly an old head on young shoulders if I ever saw one. An old soul if you will. Poor lad clearly wasn’t meant for this world, so all I can hope for is that he’s far better off in a far better one.
@@NovaFeedback1979 But in the last interview he showed that he was not satisfied with this and hinted that he wanted better roles. He loved the profession, he just needed to get back in shape and self-esteem.
I miss him so bad.He didn't die.He was murdered by eyil people.I took it in that way. Most overdose case were like that.He didn't have good people in his life unfortunately. Well, His son is in my country. Brad really wanted to have his own family but his son's mother and brad were just basically friends each other. Also they met in japan when brad came to japan.Their son was not planning. So she never had plan to move to us with son.He tried to convice her..but brad had drug issues etc Brad asked to friends "should i marry her? I really like feeling of family" Last tatoo on his arms was "FUCK IT ALL" I guess probably shey said no about his offer. If i am in her position, i will do the same thing like her. But at least, hi son is still alive and grown up..i'm pretty sure his son is so proud of Brad.. as dad..actor..musician..etc Brad will never be forgotten. I'm not religious person at all. But..lately i think when we die, if we can meet someone special later or if our soul can still exists somehow in this universe..I just wish..
sleepers was my favourite movie as a teen. messed up film, though. i really only liked the early bits before the bad stuff happened - when they were just boys hanging around, having fun.
It's sad how this 12 year old is talking about "ways to escape", especially after seeing Sloane Bella's video. Who the heck put this child alone with this rude interviewer's inappropriate questions? What a senseless tragic loss. Rest in peace Brad.
