I loved Star Trek, then I loved Star Wars and now my love is Stargate. Each show had an original thought Star Trek was humans traveling through space encountering new specie's and humanoids. Star Wars was about non earth people and an invisible force. And you know what Stargate is about. Traveling to other world's instantaneously through a wormhole with no need of a starship. Each had an original thought.
i enjoy all 3 ( although the latest trek discovery is just meh ) , and wish this show would be brought back , maybe even with a tv movie combining all 3 shows to bring the universe team home, then a series with original characters from all 3 shows, with all the "reboots" why not this one? maybe we need to start a petition somewhere, any ideas ?
"Your species has great potential." I have Earth's point of origin on the inside of my wrist, and "Great Potential" is going under it next time I get ink done. Stargate represents the hope to me that we will evolve to be and do better, that we are destined for greater things. SG1 and SGA in particular represent that hope to me. I want to extend my personal and sincere thanks to the folks behind Stargate for their vision they shared with us.
I've learned and taken so many things from this show from quotes like that. Stargate is a perfect blend of humor, drama, action, and philosophy. At some point, I wish to get a Stargate tattoo somewhere, I just haven't decided where or what.
@Stink Wrinkles Aye! I've been hoping beyond hope that it makes a come back. I know there are many that don't want a reboot, but I want to see Atlantis's story finished. So much more they could have done... 😍
@Stink Wrinkles I gotchya. If I recall correctly, they start using Asgard weapon technology much later in the series correct? I'm going through it again, and seasons 9 and 10 of SG-1 are the weakest in my fron. (I aim to change that haha) I think the authors could have found a way to balance it out, tbh. I'll DEFINITELY have to read it, cause now I wanna know about these! 😍 That and I need more Stargate in my life.
No clue if you or anyone else will see these comments, but this show is amazing! I’ve had this on the back of my mind with a list to watch it for almost 10 years and I just now started watching Stargate SG-1, halfway through Season 4 now. What a fantastic show. They don’t make stuff like this anymore. BRAVO to the people that made Stargate happen.
I've watched an episode of Stargate (SG-1, SGA, SGU) almost every day since 2010. I've restarted the series countless times, I watch them in chronological order, slicing between SG-1 then SGA, watch the movies, then start back at the start again. This show is amazing, and I'm so disappointed that they aren't making any more. I've read about 40 fan fiction ebooks, some of the comics, have stargate coasters, signed pictures from Torri and Joe.
Patrick Izumi looks like they cancelled it for good. Every post that keeps coming out, never mentions them bringing it back. Been waiting all summer for it to come back. Fall hits, & still waiting. They said they didn't have the staff to post the shows, yet they keep posting these short videos, so someone's there.

Stargate Command on RU-vid will still be around but from the email it's just going to be videos like this and they speciffically stated no full length episodes so it looks like wormhole wendsdays are no more.
Man I remember the first time I saw a Stargate episode. I was like 12-13 years old back when AXN was a thing in my country. It was an episode from the 3rd season I think and I was just hooked the moment I saw it - even though I started from the middle of the episode. Ever since then I did everything I could to not miss an episode :) #BringBackStargate !
But for the love of God don't cheap out on the quality of the production, writing, etc Make the Stargate that fans *want* to see, not something that just makes money. I mean Starwars is a trainwreck at this point. Game of Thrones burned to the ground, and don't get me started on The Terminator franchise. **flips table** 😞
I grew up with my three-star-forces : star trek voyager, star wars and stargate. However, Stargate won the first place in my heart, this franchise never disapointed me, and it's alway a pleasure to watch those shows again and again. I really hope we can go further in this univers, and I know we will.
The characters that actors and actresses play may be just a role but even the people playing the role after some time it rubs off on them and becomes a part of them. Like it or not. Star Gate is a forever thing now because of them and I am grateful.
Stargate is everything to me, the characters is what makes it, who ever took care of casting in Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis is a brilliant person at reading and understanding people, at predicting future possibilities. I would even argue that the casting director is one of the main driving forces for the success of the franchise.
My childhood basically 😍 wouldn't change it for the world. I like that it's not too sci-fi'ee and it's a modern day sci-fi series like Brad said people can relate more to it. 😁
I feel the art that one creates is never as impactful on the artist as it is in others because you take from it what you need or want to see. I'm still discovering things in these shows, and this is probably my fifth time through. It may be a T.V. show to some, but to me and probably many others it was a journey. It has impacted me deeply, and in no small way shaped who I am. Definitely my favorite series, both SG-1 and Atlantis. So thank you. ❤
On my n'th trip around the gateworld now, currently on Atlantis s03. Never gets old. I'm at the point where I can just listen to the audio and watch it in my head while I make dinner lol.

Star Trek, Stargate, Star Wars......I still binge on all the Stargates, but it would be heaven to see a new Stargate series. And I mean one hour episodes. Maybe one day!
It just came to me at the right time. I watched the movie when I was a kid and loved it. I think I watched a couple of episodes on Syfy, but I didn't get into it until two years ago. I first decided to watch it because of the vast amount of episodes. My watching it coincided with a bunch of reading I was doing at the time and I just really loved what they did with the characters. I was rarely disappointed by an episode. Sometimes they might be so-so and then at the end, they'd get ya with some meaty morsel. Anyway just wanted to express my gratitude:)
I love Stargate.. Because....... There REALLY ARE Stargates.... and it is possible... it did become "campy" in the later years.. But it is still one of my faves. besides Andromeda, and Farscape etc. and of course I grew up with Star Trek... all versions...
stargate atlantis is the reason i seriosly startet learning english back then since i couldn´t wait for the german subs to be released when a new episode aired so it was either learn to understand english or wait one or 2 weeks until it was availible with subs, but it was back then too when i discovered that many of the jokes that are there in english did either not work in my language or are really bad rewritten, but that in many shows the problem

The following was actually really Nice to hear the recognition of fan Base I have heard this and Appreciate This There's Just got to be Some incredible way of Bringing it Back there Yeah I've Said it!!! Like What's going on it's like it's OK to watch rerun's that have more appealingness then any rerun ever made yeah it would help us Stargate Fan's if the TV God's would Just bring them Back Stargate and Atlantis on a level that would so just so many description's it would in itself be a award winning series!!!; )
Rebooting the franchise is a no brainer. One of science fiction's strengths is the weekly story narrative this is also a weakness. We get a laundry list of 1 and done stories that could be explored but never are due to the need to follow the main characters and overall story. There's a legitimate opportunity in a franchise like SG to tell a series of short stories exploring the follow on teams that go back to visited peoples and planets. You can easily create 3 to 5 stories around the different B, C and D SGC Teams giving a greater depth to the 1 and done stories created w/the lead cast.
Thanks to reruns I've been able to DVR all of SG-1 and SGA episodes but for crying out loud how can a handful of classic Sci-Fi series be brought back but not Stargate..? Fanfiction can only fill the Stargate void for so long eventually everything will be read thankfully I smoke a lot of weed to forget some of the Stargate stories. Can only imagine what the Stargate universe Earth looks like after 10+ years with the Asgard and Ancient core. I hope they bring it back before I die and I hope they stick to cannon but would not mind a crossover if done right maybe a crossover with the 12 Colonies of Kobol? Their universe can actually fit perfectly with the Stargate one.
@@lazy_riveNso? The Colonials worship the Greek pantheon, Zeus, Athena and others who were actually Goa'uld in Stargate cannon. Colonial/Kobolian history only goes back 4,000 years somehow got off Kobol with interstellar ships believing to themselves they are the only life in the galaxy with the exception of the 13th tribe who left 2000 years before them. Or instead of Goa'uld they can easily make "the gods" Ancients who decided to take humans from Earth somewhere safe from Goa'uld when the Ancients/Lanteans returned from Atlantis/Pegasus. I hope they explore the “9th” chevron that was mentioned, “using unprecedented amount of energy to get to” - maybe feature a Dyson Sphere power source? 😜 type 2 or even 3 civilisations and feature real phenomena like gamma bursts etc would be awesome 😎
Stargate has a moral compass, same as Star Trek (STOS, NG etc), great actors, scripts. SG1, Atlantis both truly brilliant, SGU had potential but was trying to imitate BSG instead of being itself.
I watched the movie in the theater and I saw Children of the Gods when it premiered on showtime in 1997. I wish MGM would do something else with the IP.
Of course the actors had a lot to do with the success of the show and I would never take that away from them. But for me you couldn't take these actors and make a show without an original idea that was the Stargate. There are many sci-fi shows that failed because they didn't have an original thought even though they had some pretty good actors.
Really hope more content can be added to this universe. A new series or some continuation. So, let's not forget about Stargate. Pick up Stargate. Dial..... out..... Like that. It's the show to pick up on before Aliens are being announced to the world. (seriously, people who know the Stargate universe really are better prepared. But don't wait too long either. heh.)
I was Hoping Stargate Universe would be as good as SG-1... I was confused and wondering what the heck was going on at 1st. but as time went by (episodes) I began to understand. and got hooked on it.. I was really enjoying it till the cliffhanger show was the last.. Bummer.. I thought it ended all to quickly.. and the really sad thing is they can't recreate it anymore.. The actors have moved on and probably the sets too..
"What I love about Stargate...." well if you love it, START A NEW SERIES ALREADY!!! Or let someone else take over and run the franchise. It DOESN'T have to be under Wright's control here.
Stargate, a series that influenced my youth. I've seen a lot of series, but this one is always TOP. I have seen all the episodes and all the films that have been made perhaps 5 times. And I'll keep looking at them. :) Unfortunately, it has its flies. They didn't finish the story at SGA, and it would have taken the next 5 series. SGU did the same thing, did not complete the storyline and at all, it had hope and they gave up. Stargate Origins .... That's what I call disgust .... It is not compatible with the original series, or logic and nothing at all. And I must mention that the quality of processing almost zero. The part of how the Stargate starts with Kübelwagen is embarrassing. The only real flaw in the Stargate series is that they stopped filming it.

I’m so pissed that MGM shut the app down pretty much kicked the fans to the curb 🤔 I was a paying app customer til the end I received my gate patch in the mail last month. MGM bout the app EPIX for one hundred million but they cannot afford to make a Stargate movie or show? Hmm sounds like a big pile of stinky bull. No matter what I have the patch to prove I’m a loyal Stargate fan for ever ! Indeed “

I've learned how to appreciate fact that great majority of fans proclaim worst Stargate trilogy. Was generation y soap Opera like SG-U. And how Star trek Voyager was way too over-the-top or Enterprise series boring and bland, making Scott bakula as Captain worst ever for those most intensely devoted fans. And maybe if SG-U or Enterprise had not been suddenly cancelled, they could have had a better chance to really stink. All I know is how even years later, I can still spend my whole day just watching reruns of Voyager, along with binging Marathons revisiting Stargate universe from beginning to end and back to the beginning again. Guess I represent to niche of an audience, isn't that what TV executives said about the original Star trek?!? Who's only Savior for us people in the future, was how primetime TV used to produce a lot more seasonal episodes compared to present day.
