Actor Bradford Dillman discusses his life and career, including his long marriage to Suzy Parker, in this rare interview with cable TV host Skip E Lowe.
As a kid in the 70's I remember my father saying how great an actor Bradford Dillman was and of course I couldn't appreciate it as a child until later on. Fantastic actor.
Loved Bradford Dillman in Movie about Saint Francis of Asissi. He was also in TV movie with my favorite actress Elizabeth Montgomery in Jennifer A Woman's Story. A fine actor and class act.
Mr. Dillman was in the congregation of the Brentwood Presbyterian Church in the 70's when I was a kid. So he probably wasn't living in SB all the time then as Brentwood is closer to Hollywood. I am sorry to know only just passed away this year. He was younger than I thought. My father, William Reddick, and he were acquainted of course. And he probably had something to do with my father getting the part of the Commissioner of the SFPD in the movie "Sudden Impact" with Clint Eastwood. He was in that scene with Harry Guardino and Clint in the Commissioner's office as well. My father says; "I'm not going to fence with you Callahan!" Memorable. I'm going to get his book. He was a nice man.
Jay Lesiger he did a lot of TV show appearances in such shows as Columbo, McMillan & Wife, McCloud, Barnaby Jones, Cannon, the FBI, The Streets of San Francisco, Ironside and other shows.
Multi-faceted actor (for those of you who don't appreciate that very real fact...) He's genuine, intelligent, savvy and talented if not articulate in his roles historically. Interesting interview. So he's had some surgery, SO WHAT? He looks GREAT so obviously it benefited him. His face his money Joey, get over it.
Wish it'd been longer, the stories this man could tell from a long career. I always think it's such a waste of interesting film history, when that almost never happens. At least 90 minutes of just spilling the beans about the past.
I know, it was truly maddening to endure and that was merely as a viewer/listener. Dillman so rarely interviewed it seems and after just such an encounter it's a wonder why he wouldn't have been eager to subject himself to some more of this particular brand of torture. *NOT* 😉
What an irritating interviewer Skip Lowe is. Why even have a guest if you don't let the man get a word in? I really liked Bradford Dillman and I was hoping to hear him talk about a very good he did, "Francis of Assisi," but Lowe just kept talking...and talking...and talking...and talking...and talking...
Sad but true...he had so many wonderful stars of the past as his guests. But interviewing was simply not his forte. Skip seems like a great guy & I love his enthusiasm but I wish he hadn't interrupted so much & let his guests finish their stories ! A very bad habit of his !! :-(
