Mitch! This looks awesome but it's missing an absolutely CRUCIAL element - making sure Brago can deal combat damage; to get your mass-blink trigger. If Brago can't safely attack through an opponents defense, this whole deck is simply turned off. That feels bad. Here are a few very budget ways to make sure Brago can deal combat damage... Protective Bubble ($0.25) Cloak of Invisibility ($0.15) Cloak of Mists ($0.07) Skyblinder's Staff ($0.08) Aqueous Form ($0.27) - probably the best of these options. Invisibility ($0.23) Aether Tunnel ($0.25) Infiltrator's Landmark ($0.19) Artful Dodge ($0.21) Prowler's Helm ($0.37) Writ of Passage ($0.08)

I think one important card that should be in the reasonable upgrades should be rogues passage to ensure that Brago can get through to do damage. Yes you're generally fine since he has flying but I think rogues passage would help seal the deal

That is some absolutely awesome synergy with Lightform and Cloudform in blink decks I've never thought of before! Even at higher budgets I might put one or both of these in for that ability to turn face up *any* permanent manifested, not just creatures!

I've been running this deck with soul herder and hero of bretagard. Both get massive really quickly when you get the engine going. Also running restoration angel and flickrwisp to double up on etbs

Great build and what a budget! I love the card Reality Acid also. Tricky way to get around hexproof and indestructible if you can blink and reuse it! Deliciously abusable

I play Brago and most of the time everyone on the table target me first. Love this video, I will consider some of the upgrades.

This is a fun deck :) I used it and made some minor upgrades.. "mirror entity" is a powerful budget friendly addition imo

For just a few cents more I would recommend adding Vedalken Plotter and Glowing Anemone for a deadly land theft combo when Brago connects.

I could see this commander making tokens with ease, and golly seeing that with metalurgic summonings would be crazy

I just put together a Yorion deck recently. I would recommend a budget deck with him as well. Cool thing about Yorion is you can get other etbs to blink him, so you can chain multiple mass blinks in the time Brago can get one. You can even get creatures like Felidar Guardian to blink stuff in and out on every player's turn. So it seems Yorion needs more setup, but can churn out more blinkage. It's janky, but I put some pieces in like Rising Waters (unfortunately not quite in budget range here) which means my opponents only untap one land, but as long as I can blink it out through my turn I can untap them all :). I'm surprised to not see Kor Cartographer in here, or Reality Acid, but perhaps you couldn't find them under $0.25 at the time. Exceptionally good though. I'd also recommend Scroll of Fate, though also probably *juust* over budget. To me that card reads "tap: put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield". That's a lot of rambling. I could go on because I love this deck, but I'll be done.

I have a limitless budget build of Brago and came to suggest that you keep Sea Gate Oracle. It's an amazing card advantage piece that doesn't draw, helping to get over restrictions and other externalities. Great build, as always!

I've said it in the past and my opinion is the same: I really like how crushing quarters' reasonable upgrades are really cheap cards too when compared with the normal deck techs

$17!!?? Mitch is killing these budget builds! I keep telling my buddies to get into EDH. They complain about cost. So, I brought a friend over had him pick his favorite 2 color combo. He choose Rakdos, I showed him Kaervek the Merciless. We dug through my collection of spicy red, black, and rakdos cards for a couple hours. We built the deck, price checked it at around $67, then we played 4 games back to back. I played a different deck each time, one having a deck cost of over $500. His $67 Kaervek deck that was just pieced together won 3 out of 4 of those games. After that, I dug through my collection and pulled every common card that I had over a full play sets of, 1 or more of each uncommon that I had more than two of, and a box of spicy mythics and rares. It was somewhere over 3,000 card. I told the group whoever comes and gets them for building commander decks gets them all for free. The one that came and got the cards sat on them for a few weeks before coming to me and asking more questions about deck building and how the format really works. I took my decks over to him, we played with everyone of them that night. He understands the format and is now even more excited to build his first EDH deck. Now I have 2 friends that enjoy playing commander, and find it to be a more enjoyable and interesting format. And yeah, getting back to budget talk. I have 9 decks ranging from $160 for my Queen Marchesa deck up to $1,150 for my Yennett Cryptic Sovereign deck. With as many cards as I own I find it hard not to include at lest $2-10 cards in every deck. I could not do what Mitch does.

I'm surprised you didn't include anointed procession as a reasonable upgrade. Also, I would have liked to see Unquestioned Authority. An aura that draws you a card on etb and makes Brago unblockable seems perfect

My Brago deck was my first semi-competitive. Definitely a 7-8, and it is only $100. He is powerful as a budget commander.

Great job Mitch, Brago is a fun commander (for the person playing him) and your deck looks great - especially considering the budget limitation. If you want to up the power (and the salt 😅) spend 25 cents on Reality Acid, then watch as everything your opponents control starts to disappear and everyone starts to detest Brago. Unfortunately I know from personal experience - my playgroup made me retire the eternal king! 😩

Great deck Mitch. I've just built my first Brago deck at about $70, but there are a lot of great ideas in here. I particularly like Skybind, Forbidding Spirit, and your manifest auras. I was impressed by how much work your cantrips do (I went down the creature-based draw route which is much more expensive and fragile). One question: you had a 5-5 split between mana rocks and mana dorks, but I'm curious why you wouldn't go 100% rocks, since rocks can get activated twice in a turn with Brago where dorks cannot. Am I missing something? I'm also guessing that you thought Brago's flying and Whirler Rogue was enough evasion, but I would have thought Key to the City would be an auto-include. I certainly struggle to protect Brago from removal, but I guess protection is awfully expensive. Pretty amazing what you do at this price. Crushing Quarters is my favorite series on your channel.

This is a really great deck! But my question is, how do you ensure Brago hits? Where’s the aqueous form? Sure he has flying, but I don’t think it’s a surefire way to hit. Thanks for the sick deck!

I'd include a little more defense, to make sure you can remove a torpor orb or hushwing gryff. Also ways to make Brago unblockable.

I believe Azor is a great, not really expensive, addition to this deck. I use it on a Brago + sphinx sub theme with unesh and it's great

I was honestly surprised to see that Soulherder wasn't included on the reasonable upgrades list. Boy could get MASSIVE with a deck like this. Would have personally included Irregular Cohort and maybe Meteorite on the regular list as well. Meteorite would have been the hard sell with 5 cmc but it taps for any mana and is a Shock on etb

Keeping such a low price tag is quite hard, noce job! I would add more 2 CMC mana rocks to cast brago on turn 3 in the reasonable upgrades.

Warning: mitch finds it at $17. Before shipping (& 46 parcels later).. lol I always wanted a CQ deck so I pulled the trigger. Love the show. Thank you for all you do.

If you want to go down the land destruction path, Fall of the Thran is an option.

This deck needs Dreams of the Dead. In combination with Brago, Dreams of the Dead essentially makes all of our white creatures immortal - especially Brago, who tends to be a target. Reviving Brago right before your turn even gives him pseudo-haste. Just a ridiculous amount of synergy with Brago for an .18 cent card.

Hey Mitch, a suggestion for future episodes, you should imply a diamond pig. This is similar to a golden pig, but costs a lot more money. It shouldn’t be included in the deck cost though.

I made this deck, and let me tell ya... This is nearly CEDH-tier good, it swarms off like nothing I've seen, at a crazy speed that slower decks have a hard time catching up with. However I think the one main weakness is that after all the gamepieces are set, there're few late game Mana sinks to deal with the spare mana, and no discard outlet for all the spare drawn cards. I've put in a few cards like Azure Mage (which might be switched out for Spectral Sailor) and Teferi HoD and Venser. I'm bethinking putting in maybe Memnarch or Walking Ballista to dump late game Mana into.

Don't get me wrong. The deck is great. However, I would consider adding more cards that ensure you get the combat trigger of Brago, make it unblockable or so. Apart from that, perfect deck👌
