Danke! Groetje, Geert.
Ho, sorry, I hadn't looked well and thought it was my friend masterofsynopsis who had uploaded this video. Thanks for posting this document! Regards, Geert Dehoux.
Of all the Volodos recordings ( and a live concert I have been in the Philarmonie hall of Paris ) , this is probably his best ! Right up there with Perahia/Maazel , Serkin/Szell and Gilels/Reiner . Even if Zhukov , Anda and Hamelin are not on the same league because the orchestra aren't as good as the ones mentionned before , they are still worth a shot .
Grigory Sokolov Brahms piano concerto no 2 with The Finnish Radio Symphony video from 1987. Sokolov the most titanic the most vital. S.Richter with The Paris Orchestra with Lorin Maazel
The Truth is Murray Perahia his Best Concertos playing are Mozart piano concerto no 25 and Mendelssohn piano concerto no 1! He played with the Gewandhausorchestra Leipzig and R. Chailly in Vienna on November 5 2013. I was there, beautiful concert!! After intermission, second symphony by Brahms.
Probably. At least I have nothing to do with it. Back to topic, I think this live performance of last year in Köln is very beautiful. I will see Volodos playing the same concerto in 2.5 weeks in Vienna :-)
Are you mad?? This is a live recoding with the WDR orchestra and J.-P. Saraste and A. Volodos, recorded in Köln 2012. I recorded the live stream myself. C.
You have to listen Khatia Buniatishvili playing Brahms 2 in thhe Rubinstein competion finals.Buniatishvili an amazing!! a mind blowing!!! out of this world.Buniatishvili plays with a golden tone. All the rest plays an anti romantic fashion with a sticky a stiffy an ice cold tone
Gilels/Reiner or Gilels/Jochum? I really like Andre Watts and Artur Rubinstein on this, but I will definitely hear Khatia Buniatishvili.I have Zimerman/Bernstein on DVD and it sounds great to me.
i like the most s.richter brahms 2 piano concerto with lorin maazel and paris orchestra from 1971 i have lp record. Also grigory sokolov played in finland 1987. They both plays difficult parts fast enough.Volodos is too slow after 7.26 in 1st mvt
Arcadi of Volodos ? Groetje, Geert.
