been experiencing it for the past 2 months. had the same symptoms above, had headaches that made me wanna throw up, had clear liquid but sticky drips, had traumatic event. thinking it was allergy i stopped eating spicy foods, minimized my exposure to disinfectant chemicals, dust and smoke. I tried to calm myself because I was so stressed in the past few months i heard that stress makes your immune system weak i stopped watching news and started watching kdramas.. but now im surprised it stopped. it just stopped.

I got this and they told me to see a psychtrist and i did and feel the same lol they really need to educate themselves on this. I dont care how much it costa just wish they would listen to us.

I had a meningioma removed a year ago. Also had radiation since it was Grade 2 A-typical. So I went to Disney world a couple of weeks ago and went on a ride I probably shouldn’t have, too many spins and bright lights. Well, when i got off the ride, I experienced clear thin fluid dripping out of my left nostril. I suspected CSF leak. It resolved quickly after a few minutes. Then just yesterday I had a similar episode. I seem to get light headed after, not sure if it’s my mind freaking me out or what.
I have had 2 surgeries for a CSF leak that occurred following a motor vehicle accident. I primary care Humana physician did not chart my symptoms for 2 years. He said unilateral fluid leaking from my nostril was allergies. Finally, he gave me a referral to and EMT. My right nostril was running fluid like a faucet. No joke. The first ENT I saw stated that he had never seen a patient leak so much fluid. It leaked sitting upright but he had me to bind over. I was so embarrassed as I left a puddle on the floor. He sent some of the fluid for testing to confirm it was spinal fluid. It was. MRI showed fluid in my brain where it was not suppose to be. Scheduled for Endoscopic CSF Repair. The headache after this surgery was horrific. Sent home with very limited activity. Before I went to my follow-up appointment, my nostril was still leaking but a little less. So again, fluid was tested to confirm it was spinal fluid. It was. This ENT apologized but wanted to call it a re-leak. Sorry, my nostril never stopped leaking. It gets worse. About 8 weeks postop, my left nostril began to leak. ENT refers me to another ENT out at the University of South Florida. Scheduled for second surgery in March 2020. This time, a neurosurgeon placed a catheter/drain in my back so that dye could be injected and the location of the leak would be found and plugged with abdominal fat. He may have used something else but he stressed the abdominal fat. Spent 3 days in Neuro ICU. My major complaint post-op and now is right maxillary sinus pain, numbness of my teeth, cheek, half of my nose, half of my tongue, and half of my lips. I asked a Resident why was my face numb on one side. He said, "We were near your nerve, we saw the nerve but we didn't touch the nerve. When I spoke with my ENT, he said the leak was under the nerve and we moved it. Ninety-five percent of the time the nerve issue would resolve but 5% of the time it remains numb. What nerve? I do not know as he will not say. I was discharged. I hope my nerve comes back. It is horrible to feel like you are drooling when you are not. Half of you lip feels like it is swollen as if you have been hit in the mouth. I have to eat lukewarm food as half of my mouth is numb and I have burned the left side of my mouth with food. I feel like I am choking on mucus if I talk for any length of time. I can only eat soft foods. I had a salad and felt as some lettuce was caught in the mucus and began coughing until I got it to move. I have so many question that no one wants to answer.
I haven’t been able to even get a test because the er doctors thought I was lying and just prescribed me a nasal spray, my primary wouldn’t help me either. They told me allergies which I don’t have, I’m so scared I just got off the phone with my mom I had a seizure following bending over and having the clear fluid come out. I don’t know what to do even getting the spinal tap if they listen and take me seriously sounds horrifying. I have serve depression anxiety and trauma and I just want this all to be over. I’ve never had a healthy body and suffered from chronic illness and mental health my entire life, I just want to not feel like my body is going to shit down at any moment. @@jackalspades2522 Today's way of doing thing via email has limitations. I saw this on a legal show in my area. I suggested that if you want to have the fluid leaking from you nose tested, write a letter to your primary care physician (pcp). Mail this letter via certified mail with return receipt requested. You will have proof that you requested the testing of the fluid by your pcp. If he does not order the test, he is legally liable for anything that occurs moving forward. How hard can it be for any pcp or ER physician to order a simple test to confirm or dismiss a diagnosis. As for me, I had some complications that were not explained to me by my surgeon.
I haven’t been diagnosed yet but I truly feel this is what i have. After taking antibiotics Bactrim for a UTI, my head pressure started and the pressure went to my upper back too and forehead. Going to a neurologist soon I need to get this fixed it’s making my life miserable.

I don't understand what the point of a lumbar tap for this condition is when there's already fluid leaking out from the nasal source. How can we treat the CAUSE rather than just treating the problem by slapping a patch on it and draining the fluid through another hole? So how do we address the increased cranial pressure?
How do I find a physician to treat you for a possible CSF. I had a known CSF in 2010 and had a blood patch and another CSF in 2018 immediately after having my second lumbar spine surgery that warranted a second emergency surgery the next day to close a large leak. Since have been experiencing all the classic symptoms that a CSF can cause since 2017-2018 that I believe started sometime after my cervical spine surgery or the lumbar surgery. I have had three lumbar spine surgeries and the one cervical and honestly since 2018 I began having the headaches first than the other symptoms started causing doctors in all other specialties diagnosing each symptom separately but no one expects a CSF I don’t know how to explain to my doctors to where I am taken seriously. I even have spinal fluid sitting in my lumbar region since 2018 but that hasn’t warranted any concerns from my doctor.

I believe I may have this condition but when I mentioned it to my consulting doctor he scoffed at me and asked whether or not I had looked at the internet. He told me that he thought I was over exaggerating with my symptoms and that CSF is very rare and therefore highly unlikely. Is it me or is it rarely diagnosed as to being a rare condition... I'm inbetween jobs and suffer from pressure above my head area like someone's sitting on my brain, dizziness, tinnitus, fatigue. I am at whitts end and if it continues I feel like I may do something I'll regret. I used to go to the gym every second day when I starting getting clear discharge from my nose, now I spend alot of the time laying flat on my back. It's ruining my life and Im in my 20's.

But I'm suffering the same symptoms, after I fainted a hit the bridge of my nose had 2 black eyes for weeks, then headaches then noticed a clear fluid coming from my right nostril. I eventually saw the ear nose and throat specialist who put a camera down my nose, her report said I had a diviated spur🤷♀️ but nothing else.. I'm still having the same problems, clear liquid from one nostril, headache, and a pain in the center of my shoulders, eye site has worsend and my earing feels like I'm under water with a high pitch sound 😢 it's hell... I'm trying to see the doctor again but it's virtually impossible to get one.
My heart rate and blood pressure was sky high before they put me on blood pressure and heartrate medication. Since the 1st medication i tried made me feel like my head was gonna burst, my heart is at 55% refraction. My right side of my nose is always driving me crazy. When im looking down for a while, it leaks nonstop.. ive formed scoliosis, spurring in neck and lower back. Been in and out of dr and hospitals, but still im getting worse. I fell broke my arm and shoulder hit my head since I been feeling pressure when blood pressure up seems like when I lay down I feel fluid leaking from my right sinus.. I had a minor surgery yesterday. As soon as I leave the surgery center, I had this watery leaks on one the left side of my nose. Is this a CSF leak or should I wait for another week to see my doctor? Thank you.
Can you have allergies and a CSF leak? The last couple of days my nose has been running non-stop, my allergy meds and cold medicine are not touching it, and it doesn't dry. Should I get checked out?
I have this and still no help and all i get is allegeries from doctors and depression and anxiety so close to death but yet it never comes it feels like i am dead. I have evidence of a leak on my channel.

I had a spinal tap about 20 years ago and during the tap I shaked uncontrollably. I didn't know if I had a cfs leak or not, but after I had this procedure I would get sharp stabbing headaches in my head and had bone loss in my skull. Do you think this was caused by the spinal tap. I've been to doctors and no one knows what happened to me. I still have pain in my head on the sides above the ears, but also have herniated disks in my neck and previously had lyme disease about 10 years ago which made me really sick.. Can a spinal tap cause volume loss in the skull?
Hi, do you still have those headaches?? Or they are gone. Can the csf leak come back after spinal tap? I had spinal tap leak after an epidural and it was the worst I was in the hospital and all, but it’s been a year and today the symptoms came back :(
I do not live in your area but I have a question. What are the long-term issues following a CSF repair? Can I travel by airplane? Must all activities that may cause additional pressure on this area be discontinued? Or will a person be able to do as they please several months after the final post-op surgery? Thank you.
During my first surgery, I had a shunt installed after my csf leak repair which allowed me to fly. If you're not getting a shunt, check with your doctor.
I had an accident in 2001. Prolonged whiplash for 17 years. Had a deep tissue massage and the next day, I had HORRIBLE symptoms including dizziness, left sided pressure in head, pain in back of head, nausea, vision issues, sore throat on left, ear pressure pain on left, post nasal drip on left. The drip does not come out of my nose, just down my throat, heartbeat down spine, muscles are so tight in neck, left shoulder. Drs don’t know what’s wrong. MRI is good. Wonder if this could be it?
Sure could be similar symptoms to mine, had MRI years ago came back clear, recently told on A & E visit by Doctor treating me to go back to GP and request another MRI (never told me his reasons all hush , hush) Also an MRI doesn't always pick up the leak area damage.
@@Mosel66 75% of csk leak is not detected by MRI, unless SEEPS happen. Definitive leak test using CT Myelogram is far the best. If u are positive with SEEPS by Mri with or without contrast. U need to have at least Blood Patch to start. Or Glue if Myelogeam Or Cisternigram is specific with the location.
i have csf leakage, whenever the brain fluids leaks out through nose i get sneezing continiously untill it get stops, can you suggest me how to stop the sneezing at that time.

See this is my issue I don't have either of these symptoms at all, my only issue is that I have fluid water feeling in my head but it doesn't come out in my ear or nose . Idk if it's csf or sleep deprivation . I'm perfectly fine doing things it's just this issue

I engage in heavy weight lifting in the gym.. I feel that it is the cause of a leak running down my right nostril.. It comes and goes.. I think it reheals then I may irritate it again causing it to leak. Could this be a case?

@@tombirt6004 so, as of now i havent had this csf leak issue in well over a year.. maybe 2 years now.. my experience was whenever i would bend down, tilting my head down say if i was checking the oven or something then suddenly this clear liquid would drip out my nose, or when my head was positioned in a particular way when lying in bed my nose would again start running this csf.. did all my research, watched many videos, i eventually concluded that the cause of the leak was due to straining in the gym.. the dural tear must not have been great because the leak would come and go.. i assume that it would come and go because of it healing then being aggravated by my straining in the gym without me realizing what i was causing, until i did realize... so i started to focus on giving the tear more time to heal, i would keep my head upright and bend down with my knees just to avoid the leak, avoid straining in general.. if i was in the gym then i would be more conscious of breathing properly during lifting and not straining, of course at the time i was worried and paranoid so i would really be patient and not be so intense while working out.. over time it just stopped leaking. i was bringing my intensity back up slowly while being aware of the risk of straining so i made sure to breath more rather then holding my breath during a lift, everyday i was conscious of it and i knew not to aggravate it by straining whether it be while lifting or on the toilet.. i never went to the doctor or anything.. so the remedy would be to take it easy and allow the tear to heal itself, then just be conscious of not over straining... i mean this is how it resolved for me.
Dr loung hi I had been suffering from csf leak for a long period of time since I was 17 years old I am now 43 I always consider it a rhinitis or common cold till recently I had a severe headache nausea and went did CT scan found out I had pns but after talking to my doctor about the symptoms he told we need to rule out csf leak going back to my history with migraine and the severe headache i was having that will subside when I'm laying down no surgeries no treatments only God bless so my question is have you ever had a case where the patient misdiagnosed for a long period of time and survived it. I have been a pro volleyball player lefting weights never thought I was in life threatening situation used to relief the headache or sleep it over till next day feeling 💯% and go deal with my day as normal person. Hearing about it now and how serious it is still be in denial so got any advice for me
If you can see Dr Ian Carroll in california he is the best or dr schevnik for cranial leaks first they need to locate the leak and then see if it is cranial or spinal or both and patch it they are pricey but they can give you your life back.
I am dealing with this. I told my doctor and they just said I have a headache disorder? No. What I feel is debilitating sharp throbs in my head if I ever so slight raise it. I have to lay down for 30+ minutes flat and even then I feel lightheaded/anxious afterwards. I had this since I was 17 as well. I thought nothing of it. I was unhealthy and obese at the time so I thought it was my blood pressure. Years later it almost seemed like it got worse. What triggers it is if I have my head bent downward. And every now and then I get clear fluid coming out in only ONE nasal. I’ve had it come out on the left and right side, never both at the same time tho. I have another appointment in a few days and I’m terrified. I know they have to take samples from my nose drainage but I can’t stand the feeling. And I hope I don’t get that excruciating head pain where I have to lay down. Did you ever get yours diagnosed & treated? I feel alone cause nobody believes me. Im honestly miserable. It’s scary to go through.
My dripping was for 3 mths. I was hospitalised initially for influenza after 2 days doc said pneumonia. But got discharged. My dripping was bad at certain places. Mentioned to doc abt leaking and he just said inflammation of the sinus. On 21 dec 2023, had headache, pain at the back of the neck, vomiting and couldn’t see bright light. Was brought to hospital by ambulance. Then was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. This time doc took mri and found the bone missing bed confirmed that it was csf leak. Was asked to do an operation on 4 Jan 2024. I turned down the operation asking for some time to consider. But on 10 Jan 2024 till now leaking disappeared. Don’t know how but taking it as a miracle from God!
Went to the ER was told it was just water getting stuck in my ears and nose from showering. Told a ENT and he suspected i was a liar pretty much. Still suffering from csf
After a few days of my nasal covid-19 swab test, I started seeing "yellowish" liquid running out of my "left nose. I have heard many cases around here, people having leaks after their covid tests. I am now concerned for my health, if I should see a doctor or let it heal on its own, if it does hopefully.

Matias I remember a doctor saying once, if you catch what comes out on a tissue and leave it overnight to 'dry up' normal sinus nasal stuff will dry up and go hard but Spinal fluid will stay soft. Are you having any headaches that completely go away when you lie down? I think it wont be a leak if you don’t have any other symptoms
Him concerned as I did have a brain & spine bleed which required a laminectomy which I got spinal meningitis & paralyzed from the waist down. Thank God after a couple years I walked again. I've had a drains nose both sides like water that I can't control unless I stuff my nose with Kleenex. Its ridiculous it'll just drip on my clothes before I can grab a tissue. I look like a teething baby with drippy nose. Its embarrassing. More so its worse when I stand or bend over. I thought it was digestive issues but now I worry it's this CSF? Can you help please? Hi doctor good day, my son two year old found CSF Leak from one nose, recognized in CT scan. It's shows defect in left cribriform plate.dr.in India suggest us for endoscopy surgery. Should we go for surgery or by medicine it can be stop.plz suggest.

@@jerezaalexj.6343 it was like 5-6 weeks, but i would still be carful of bangs to the head after that tho. but after about 4 weeks the dizzy feeling and headache cormed down. but man trying to get the doctors to take me seriously was impossible, because it didn't come up on the CT scan I had.
@@FoxOctopus Hi Ricky, what were your symptoms? I am not a confirmed csf leaker but I have the symptoms of positional headaches and a slow leak in nostril when leaning forward. After 2 weeks of positional headaches, I am now on day 6 of bed rest, hydration, caffeine etc. trying to heal on my own. I am going to seek a physician in a week to get ct scan and MRI. I only had 1 mild headache so far and 1 moment of slight sharp pain in my head. Im not sick I don’t have allergies like watery eyes ,or itchy throat ,sneezing. My name is David Hanna and I have an arcnoid cyst that has been leaking fluid through my skull it is not a standard CSF leak I have not had any fluid coming out of my nose what is happening to me is that the fluid is getting trapped between the skin and the bone and is trapped in my face and maxsilla but I can't find a Dr to try and diagnose this it is horrendous to live with can anyone help me with this as I am from Norland Ireland and there is no help here for CSF

Anything that goes down your throat, ends up in your stomach. Unless you aspirate it (like if you accidentally inhale while drinking & start coughing) someone said their went into their lungs. Usually it's not that much fluid that you will get pneumonia or fluid in the lungs.. but this is why your body will cough..to get any secretions out of the airway BEFORE it hits your lungs)
@Kenny Coultrap how do you know it's in your lungs?? You might just be aspirating the drips, but your body will automatically cough it up way before it gets to your lungs. Trust me, if you had liquid in your lungs, you would be in so much pain and in the hospital.

Go to a doctor as soon as you can. The anterior tip of the temporal lobe can be reached via the nose. Sorry to say with people not wanting to wear mask, you may be exposed just the same. I am sure the med/surgical floor is far away from the COVID-19 floor.
Oh boy, it's been 3 months since I posted this comment. I've gone to so many doctors, taken so many tests and they can't determine which part of my skull is broken. This thing is literally killing me. I don't have much time left. My condition is getting worse and worse. Memory loss, confusion, feeling like I'm about to faint, hypertension, shortness of breath, blurry vision, hearing problem... This is a nightmare, I just want it to end.

Csf leak usually happens after you lean forward, or bend over.. when you get back up, you will have clear liquid dripping from one side which has a very salty metallic taste

Omg don't tell me they are that horrible. My mum recently started to get clear fluids coming out from one of her nostrils. I told her to make an appointment with the GP hoping she will be sent for a scan.
Pretty much have to threaten them with the word 'meningitis' when needing treatment. I had to say it to lots of Dr's before one did an MRI with contrast and they saw I was leaking.

You can order a test from your doctor called a 'Beta 2 Transferrin' test that proves its cerebrospinal fluid or get some glucose urinalysis straps and test it to see if it's high glucose. If you're walking around functioning I doubt very much that you have a leak.
The medical system is broken. I have been suffering from spine and neck injuries for 35 years the whole time doctors telling me nothing’s wrong multiple symptoms throughout my body. I’m just discovering I have a CFS leak and possibly way more you would think out of 35 yearsat least one doctor and I have been too many could’ve figured out that I had neck and back issues. Just one out of dozens would’ve been nice.
