Thank you again for a wonderful series. Yes, I have learned that my life is different now and it might get worse, but I have hope that God is with me each step of the way. He knows my days and holds them in His hands. Either pain or sorrow, sleepless nights or learning to take a nap. Pain wears you out and you must rest to recover. I need to be more organized as you are and set more goals. I have made a choice to count each encounter as a blessing and make the most of each conversation. Looking forward but carrying with me the past. I always dream of myself as whole and not disabled. Do you? Good day to you....

I love this note, Sass! God is absolutely with you every step of the way! I'm glad you can imagine yourself as whole! I see myself as whole, though others see me as disabled. I feel WE are differently abled, we have developed many other skills and processes to accommodate for the things that we can no longer do. We are creative and determined and hard working so we can do the "normal" activities of everyone else. Love these conversations! Let's keep chatting. God bless! Jodi

I was diagnosed with a meningioma in 2009 after an auto accident. I was scared to have surgery because I was told I had a 75% chance of having a stroke, going blind or dying. I chose radiation. I have vision problems, balance, headaches, memory, mood swings, twitching hands at times, loss of appetite, chronic diarrhea, adrenal failure, and deaf in right ear due to tumor along with it choking off the right ear drainage tube so I have to have a permanent ear tube. My tumor stopped growing after radiation until 2023, it grew 2.9 cm. Insurance refused to let me have it removed. I wanted to have the surgery and even changed my insurance but after hearing your story I don’t know if it would be worth it. I’ve been told it’s eating the bone away. They’ve tried making me a new bone for my ear so I could hear but it doesn’t last long.

Wow, thanks for sharing a little of your journey. I can relate to much of what you wrote. It is hard to know what to do in these circumstances, and certainly I've had tons of struggles since my surgeries, but without the surgeries, I wouldn't be here. So, I'm grateful for docs who took a chance and saved my life, even though it has caused so many other issues. Life is simply hard -- but it is better when we help each other through. I'm glad you found me here. Please stay tuned for more encouragement, inspiration, hope, and faith for fighting the battles of life. God bless! Jodi

After your first surgery, why did you have to have an additional 15. I also have the same brain cancer you have but thank God I only had the 1. God bless you Jodi😊❤️

Good question, Tracy! Because my tumor was around my brainstem and pressing on my nerves, I had a series of complications and side effects: spinal fluid leak, facial paralysis, hearing loss, etc. These created long-term issues that have required multiple surgeries. The actual removal of the tumor was brain surgery #1, then brain surgeries 2-3 were to repair/seal the spinal fluid leak. #4 was to implant a gold weight into my eyelid so I could have some closure... from there the list continues. I have other videos about the effects of facial paralysis, which have caused the majority of ongoing issues. I hope and pray you are thriving now, Tracy!! I'm glad you only had 1 brain surgery. Warrior on, my friend! So glad you found me. Stay tuned for more hope, inspiration, and courage for navigating life. God bless! Jodi

Hello Judi. I am a teacher living in Taiwan and recently had an appendectomy along with a lot of other health problems including extreme shoulder pain suddenly and heart pain that lasted a month. We couldn't figure it out but it's been me in and out of the hospital consistently for a few months. Previously about eight months ago we found a tumour behind my skull next to my right orefontal lobe that the doctor said was "benign" without doing specific tests. I've been having a lot of trouble dealing with the existentialism of "what if". I'm going to try to do another CT soon once the 6week period is up after the appendectomy CT, but how have you remained so strong? I really hope to get some advice from you because it's been worrying... My partner has been supportive, but...dealing with the worrying is...overwhelming. what's you advice?
@JodiOrgillBrown
@JodiOrgillBrown Год назад
@kyle, so sorry to hear you are going through this right now. The "what if" scenario is never ending, and only leads down rabbit holes of fear. While we need to think through possibilities to deal with whatever is to come, I'd encourage you not to spend too much time there. As my psychologist friend says, "What if'ing is like spending you time imagining all the WORST case scenarios. That is called 'anxiety'. Instead, think of the best case scenarios and focus on positive possible outcomes." I did a 3 part series, here on my YT channel, on how to stay mentally strong in the midst of struggles. Definitely check it out for some real-life tips. My biggest advice for you right now: Surround yourself with a good network of people to support you. Show up for them, and they will show up for you! And, jump in to help them as often as possible. It takes the focus off your struggles and improves your relationship with others. Please keep in touch and let me know how I can help!
