OMG. Everything here hits home so hard. 5 years ago I had an 11 1/2 hour craniotomy. I had been going to the dr for months with headaches, tremors, incontinence, falling, wide stance gait, neck issues, worsening vision. The long term recovery with shut down that I still get...now makes sense! Thanks to your videos.

my dad just had tumor operation he looks so different its like my strong dad has become a different person. He looks so fragile.
@JodiOrgillBrown
@JodiOrgillBrown 7 месяцев назад
@yorkshirekoi2246, Your dad may look and act differently right now, but his soul is the same on the inside! Give him all the TLC you can, for he is weak and struggling. When he starts functioning again, encourage HIM to show himself the kind of patience and care he would for you. It will be hard, he will want to get back to "normal" as soon as possible, but what he really needs to do is find a "new normal" and learn to appreciate his second chance at life. Strong spirits are often housed in weak bodies, so don't give up on him, and don't let him give up on himself, no matter how hard the battle! What are his specific complications/side effects/symptoms? Please let me know so I can offer some suggestions. I'm so grateful you found me here. Please check out my other videos, and stay tuned for more hope, inspiration, and courage for navigating the challenge of life. God bless you and your dear dad! Jodi

@@JodiOrgillBrown my dad went to the doctor because he was having headaches they managed to do scans very quickly . they found a tumor at the back of his skull just above his neck. they operated though the first doctor was not very understanding. I only found out about what was going on the day of surgery. I drove all the way to hospital and after 2 days drove him home. my parents live about 100 miles from where I live. my mum tells me my dad was very emotional and crying this is not like my dad as he is a very tough guy normally. To be fare the NHS we have in the uk did a very good job well looked after. We are waiting for them to test the tumor to find out what it is so we can not say what may happen I done some reading online and seems very scary if it is cancer estimates I read was only 17% live past 5 years if it is cancer. So my dad is looking to move closer to family. given my mum is also not in good health either. its ok moving to the seaside but if its far from family it can be a problem. Thanks for replying back few youtubers do . hope you can deal with it too, many thanks for reaching out. Update... My mum tells me my dad is getting a little better every day able to walk a little even around the garden. having a dog is a good motivator . But he is in alot of pain over night. He has heart issues that need to be addressed at some point. My grandad was the same. having to have a triple bypass. he also suffered with strokes after which he was never the same. in the end passed away due to having another stroke.

Thank you for the update. It is difficult when doctors are not understanding and don't listen to the patient. I am glad your parents have your help, even though it is not easy living so far away. So grateful that your dad is getting little better everyday. Please keep me posted. All my best to you and your family. Let me know what videos would be helpful! God bless. Stay tuned. Jodi

Thank you, Jodi, for sharing your journey. I began my brain tumor journey in December, and it has been a wild ride! I don't know the specifics of your diagnosis, but mine is grade 2 astrocytoma, IDH1 mutation. I wrote you an email to your address on your website, but I don't know if you got it? Brain tumors are very rare, so finding someone in a similar boat as myself is unbelievable special to me. I am happily back at work, like you, (I work in animation), but would love to talk to you, if that is something that would interest you. Just let me know. My name is Karen, btw. :)

Exactly right we never stay as normal as we like from my benign brain and needed two brain surgeries, it's been over 30 years and had it was located where your was too. I don't take any Rx seizure meds but, do take organic Valerian to keep my brain calm. You might want to try I don't know and my 2 children were still young when I had my two brain surgeries. Be bless and take care of yourself.

Dr Sulayman could correct the facial distortion by Scarless surgery, as feathered on RU-vid Shorts. Hot towel massage once or twice per week would heal the tissue and affected nerves. She is speaking very well, after a successful brain operation. Godbless her with the strength to fight and overcome. There is a reason why her case is exceptional, and inspiring to all patients that have encountered both spinal cord and tumor injuries. Italian diets is a good preventative for tumour.

I also like to get my eleven hours of sleep. I appreciate my queen size bed, height of the two mattresses off the ground, the comforting support of the mattresses, quality of my sheet, my wise decision to eliminate a top sheet for greater mobility, such as sideways movement of my legs across the entire width of the Queen size bed, newly added vitamin B-6 with Melatonin, doubling my daily intake of vitamin B-6 to 20 mg., oh forgot to say, I am treating plantar fasciitis for one of my ailments, and after five weeks of experimenting with various treatments, I finally feel relief, including by self massaging from select points on the foot, after weeks of applying Arnica 35% lotion and taking over-the-counter oral analgesic three times per day. I find relaxing helps tremendously and allow myself to relax as much as I feel necessary from day to day, working around my relaxation schedule, instead of the other way around.

Straight away, I do apologize but, I don’t recollect ever hearing a diagnosis 🤷‍♀️
@JodiOrgillBrown
@JodiOrgillBrown 22 дня назад
@laurieottman6905 The diagnosis was complicated -- a brain tumor between the end of my ear canal and wrapping around my brainstem. They couldn't identify the type of tumor it was, as it didn't match anything on record. So, I am a bit of an anomaly. Some of the tumor has grown back, but not enough to require more surgery, so for now, I am ok. Great question! So glad you found me here! Stay tuned for more hope and inspiration for navigating the challenges of life! God bless. Jodi

I am so curious as to what kind of brain tumor you had? I have a meningioma down at the bottom of the two lobes of my brain, at this time it's not a problem unless it grows.
@JodiOrgillBrown
@JodiOrgillBrown 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for asking. My diagnosis is an unidentifiable type of brain tumor at the end of my ear canal and wrapping around my brain stem. Most of the tumor was removed, but there is still a 5x7mm mass that can't be removed. Originally it was thought to be a Glioma or Schwanoma, but the final pathology showed the tumor didn't match anything else on record. I hope you stay stable and don't experience and further issues from your tumor! Please keep me posted. So glad you found me here. I hope you stay tuned for more encouragement, hope, and inspiration. God bless. Jodi

My husband is 82 and through an MRI they have found a meningioma the size of a ping pong ball he said but it is benign, They are going to check him every year, It’s in the front left of his brain, I need to know is this still dangerous and what should I look for as his wife, he is good for his age
@JodiOrgillBrown
@JodiOrgillBrown 2 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment. Definitely make sure your husband continues to get checked, as a tumor can still do damage if it grows, even if it is benign. Depending on the location, he could experience dizzy spells, eye/sight issues, headaches, mood changes, etc. Keep him going in for regular check ups. So glad he is doing well so far.
