I have to completely agree that this thing is busted, it out runs everything within its br bracket in a straight line or climb, its turn is not great but guns are decent and really most people use it as a brain-dead run to base to bomb and back and unless head on intercepted or directly from the side it won't be caught. I kinda stopped playing it for the same reasons as the xp-50, it's broken as hell and doesn't feel rewarding and now I only use it for event or sl grinds when I get too low.
Imagine this, imagine that. Bla bla bla. Now imagine a collab between Smigol and DEFYN. People would just outright quit matches... some even the game as a whole.
When I was grinding USSR with the premium B 25, I really hated the wyvern, regardless of the team it's on. They would destroy the base I was going for before I made it even halfway there or I would get disintegrated by an enemy wyvern while up high before I could bomb a base. The Wyvern, P 61, and XP 50s were basically a return to hangar 90% of the time whenever I flew the B 25.

That's right... but for bombers as they can't just go do something else, they go for a base and if they change target mid flight they are done for, likely without bombing anything. Additionally after you drop bombs there is a 20-30 seconds until they hit the ground, usually you can't just see that someone has already dropped bombs on the base so you HAVE TO communicate. Due to above reasons, not respecting pings for bombers is equal to TK as you are forcing someone to go turn and fly another 10km while fighting these 3-5 interceptors with 20mm canons that are just about to get into firing range. For strike aircrafts it's completely different.
I've been complaining about the Wyvern for months. Solo it can basically do Do-335 A0 job of disrupting climb and killing 2-3 fighters early, but it can do it way better, because it sits at 4.0 vs 4.7, it has better armanent for spamming (4 cannons with tons of ammo, Do-335 A0 has 70 rounds of 30mm that hits hard, but runs out quick, and 2 20mm have bad ballistics and hit nowhere near as hard as quad Hispanos), handles better (Do-335 is a bit clumsy) and Wyvern is actually faster below 3km I think. Oh and Wyvern has airbrakes, just in case you tried to get rid of it in a dive - your only option is to actually get out of its firing arc and hope Wyvern won't just run away by the time you get guns on target. Oh and Wyvern barely compresses, in the video you can see it pulling 11-12G at over 650 km/h. Which means going fast won't help, cause Wyvern will actually outmaneuver most fighters at high speed. And if you're NOT going fast - if you attempt a reversal, Wyvern will just fly past you with 200-250km/h more on the clock, which means your firing window will be extremely narrow to non-existent (Sweden 13mm, .50 cals and US 20mm have a chance, MG151/20 and other "slower 20mm" - well, GL).
Why is it 4.0... because people keep base bombing in them and getting pounced on by Hans and Gunther in their superior piston driven flying machines. (I adore the Wyvern, Twas a good purchase)
@@Siddich xp50 players are a little stunned too, with the amount of planes that outperform it at 5.0 I’m not really worried about the xp50, It could probably do good at 4.3-4.7
A6M6c on 5.0 with ~250 20mm rounds, vs. this thing at 4.0 with *1200* 20mm rounds, superior speed and ground attack capability. "I see no problem here." You can (and in fact, Smigol did) safely take out 70% of the enemy team before running out of ammo and landing for any kind of refill.
@@JoshX9706 5.0 is so broken, there are XP-50, a6m5ko, this thing on video and all of they are completely UFOs. Even ITP and A6m6c stuggle vs these spaceships.
Hey Smigol, will you be doing a big (or multiple) clip dumps after the event ends of everything you got while grinding? Just curious since I figured you would be getting lots of clips but not that much time to edit during the event. Anyways thanks for your videos! @@JustElijahRS right now being at 4.0 its insanely busted, you can go for fighting if you want and just use stealth belts and you will almost always get a couple kills per game, if you need you can always just grab bombs and go bomb a base and use ground belts for ground pounding if you arent in the mood to fight or just need some quick braindead SL, its turn isnt great but its climb is decent and now that its been dropped to 4.0 it performs insanely well as it out runs pretty much everything, if someone is following you just start a small climb while going straight away from them and wait till they stop following you then turn around and put some belts into them, it also has alot of ammo so you dont have to do small tap fires, you can full auto it if you dont feel confident with your aim with stealth belts, all around i think its a better buy than it once was, if you want to grind SL its a great plane but if you are looking to grind british air for some reason then it will only get you to teir 5-6 and british planes arent the best at that teir so teir 7 will be a hard grind, overall though the wyvern is a good plane if you are looking to get some SL

Perfect example of Gaijoob having no clue what they're doing to the game, this thing should've never been at 4.0, even 5.0 wouldn't be enough, a manuvrable turboprop with 4 autocannons that can also drop hefty bombs, you just need a couple of functioning neurons and it's a beast
Yes it is mainly flown by shitters, I fly it... but Smigol makes a Swordfish scary soooooooo. If you understand energy management and positioning then the Wyvern can be easy mode as most enemies will expect you to just bomb and run. I enjoy being bombless but zooming low direct to a base to lure in the early divers. Even if I suck and fail I have helped my team greatly by draining fighters of energy.
I had some tense encounters with this thing in the Me 410 B6 in the Tornado-event and omfg I didnt knew how good this thing is before that event. The Wyverins often also didnt knew how good the guns of the B6 are but I dont gain a lot XP in very short games due to either returning to the hanger with the Wyverin or crashing soon after without having a lot of groundtargets done due to damage. Kills without any significant damage were very rare.
Ah, this is why I am getting ripped out of the sky with my SU-8 all the time. All I want is ground pound in Air RB and I am keep getting jumped my Wyverns. I guess they get attacker spawn too...but they don't turn like a brick. *sad SU-8 pilot noises*
I watch these videos and it makes me really want to play the game. Then I play the game, get destroyed, and lose all desire to touch it. It's a really fun game if you're actually good but if you're not I cannot properly express just how fucking demoralizing and depressing it is trying to play this game and just getting absolutely decimated every time you do literally anything.

This thing is stupidly overpowered due to how good it's engine is. It can outrun fighters at it's BR, for god's sake! I've lost track of games which devolve into airfield camping because the Wyvern ran off and no one could catch it!
BTW I can imagine full commiting vs Wyvern - some Wyvern pilots are pretty disciplined in keeping their straight line speeds, and thanks to high velocity cannons and good roll, dodging Wyvern in a head-on is not guaranteed, especially since a lot of planes can't really fly faster than 500km/h at low alt, and most of the time they go even lower, so full commit with a chance of trading is still better than trying to dodge while going 400-450km/h and getting blasted more often than not. I'd go full commit vs Smigol (with some initial dodging to make my chances of getting shots on target at close range better) just because that's still a better chance of stopping him from crushing my team, than any attempts at dogfighting, unless I'd be sitting in something that is really superior in dogfighting, I'd have energy advantage overal and my speed would be high enough to give me a decent (still low I guess :D) chance at dodging and Smigol's plane would be armed with something with not-so great ballistics - as you can see, quite a lot of conditions to be met, so "see a youtuber, full commit like a monke" is generally a decent idea.
Iv been using the canberra myself. Get the bombs off so even if you get gaijined its pretty much assured points. Then once bombs are off you continue to the enemies climb, my favourite food is bullying mig 15s that think because you're a bomber you're free food. So they just stall themselves out and then you come to bare with 2000 rounds of (new and improved) 20mm hispano.
This reminds me of one match where I was in my Wyvern, and myself and another wyvern took on the entire enemy team literally head on. We destroyed about half their team. after which I said "Imagine losing half your team to a pair of 1960s ground attack aircraft." (I know this may sound rude/toxic) our team still lost.

I used Su-6 AM-42 and finished every task in I guess 2 hours at most. Apparently I'm a noob for doing headons against the guys who decided to commit to them xD

I honestly think the XP-50 is more balanced than this thing. You can at least justify the XP-50, but there’s absolutely no justification for the Wyvern. Some say “It has a terrible turn time!”, but that doesn’t matter when this thing is impossible to catch, even when being dived on. The only way to beat a Wyvern is if the pilot is brain dead and turnfights you - if they’re somewhat intelligent, they will run away, get altitude, and boom and zoom you - nothing you can do about it. Wyvern players are the opposite of Japan mains - Japan mains get their zeroes overtiered to oblivion, and still manage to do well in them. Wyvern players get their plane undertiered beyond belief, and still manage to die constantly. Everybody knows that Gaijin uses stats to balance vehicles, and everybody knows that stats are not an accurate depiction of a vehicle’s potential, because some vehicles attract higher skill players than others. But why does gaijin do this? Most people seem to think that it’s because gaijin is simply too dumb to recognise that stats don’t tell you the whole story. But personally, I think gaijin fully understands that stats don’t reflect a vehicle’s performance. Moving higher performing vehicles up to a higher BR brings them closer to a statistical equilibrium with all other vehicles. I think the reason why they want to bring vehicles as close as possible to a statistical equilibrium (whether or not each vehicle’s equal performance is due to player skill or vehicle capabilities) for one reason: If everyone performs more or less equally, nobody performs badly enough to quit the game. Having everyone perform more equally, whether due to their skill or their vehicle’s performance, is a much more profitable environment.
people like this p-47 on 2:00... I really don't understand them. He boom and zooms you, extends merrily but no evasive maneuvers AT ALL. even when you hit him. Sad thing is there are SO many players like that.
