@@MyFirstMillionPodthanks for the link and also I was able to hit up the legendary egg carton lady the other day. I called her a legend and she responded with “I’m just another bozo on the bus” thanks for finder her!
I’m an OG MFM fan girl and only ever listened to the podcast. Just switched over recently to RU-vid and total game changer. Now I feel like you guys are my bffs who I get to see!
I appreciate how Sam asks questions to make your material more understandable to the common person. I’m a special ed teacher and it’s amazing how many people don’t understand a lot of the basic information. This should be accessible to everyone.
@@ray-mc-l I am sure he does but I think he was trying to get to the point of why we need to be concerned with “white” coral. Not everyone is aware of why that is a problem and how a business could be created because of it.
Yeah I'm big on communication value too but the nerdy part of me like seeing the intelligence flow and show and yet I know some ppl gonna get a little lost , but the humor helps a lot. Actually the humor helps me get thru the impatience that I can sometimes feel as resistance to learning at times.
I've been following him religiously for so long - genuinely one of the the clearest, deepest thinkers of the day. Only 18 rn but I hope to have half the career he's had. #keepbringingpatrickon
That all nice, but I have a A.I bot the tracks new trends and everything about the trends and tracking trends that are not even a twinkle in your eye yet. Hawk out!!
How much does "knowing" all that info actually deter MR. CAMPBELL from actually doing anything at all? Like sometimes it feels like knowing all that info deflates the real "wanting" to pursuing any endeavor.
Shaan, cryptographic signatures is a very old concept. Your AI example is very similar to PGP encryption. The problem is that every person would need to know who the signatory is for each piece of content - a shared storage to lookup who the owner is of the signing key.
Hi, I was born in Cuba. Living now in the Land of Freedom, America. Campbell, let's free Cuba. People will be happy. And then let's build there a cheap Silicon Valley or Caribbean Bali for entrepreneurs.
Wow... Shaan, INCREDIBLE video today! I've been imbedding my number into user IDs so I'm reminded of it daily. Glad this wasn't just me. Have a GREAT day!
Maybe he should put more conscious effort in toppling his muffin top. Subsequently, freeing Puerto Rico (his residency for tax purposes) from the U.S., shackles. Nothing says "I am going to be moving into Miami and run for mayor/senate in the near future." more than " I wan to topple Cuban gov" 🪱🪱 He talks too much and wished you guys would've intervened more frequently; incessantly waffling. Having said that, I have used Profitwell (formerly, Price Intelligently) and it was great.
Flattered you liked our product. :) On the other stuff - I'm not sure you got what I was saying (or I wasn't precise enough with my words). No interest in running for office, living in Florida, or freeing PR (as this view isn't shared by 95%+ of Puerto Ricans). I'll keep working on my muffin top though. It's getting smaller.
That signing of content wont work. those who want a get out of jail card juat won't sign the media that doesnt suit them. "Oh! A pic of me cheating on my wife ? Not me" Im gonna pass on signing that...
Okay, fellow Wisconsinite entrepreneurs here. I love this guy. He went into entrepreneurship while I went to 2 grad schools and now I'm the poorest in my family. Don't go to school! Get out and do something
Sam, Shaan, and Patrick I am building a cybersecurity SaaS exclusively to protect K-12 schools from getting hacked and phished, we just hit $16K ARR since launching Oct 1st, we have a big waitlist and are growing fast 🔥would love to connect with you guys 💪🏻
@@patticus Loved the Bezos Number spreadsheet! Also in the same boat as you, exploring trends and markets to figure out what to build in. Honestly going back and forth between SaaS or acquiring a boring cashflow business.
I hate when tech founders turn into know it alls and Gurus or scientists. What does Patrick knows anything besides his core business skills? What does he know about happiness? He is just a talker or intellectual who tries to hide behind his “research” and big words.
Appreciate the feedback and I think that's a fair-ish assumption if you don't know me. I definitely don't know all, but my background is in econometrics and math, and I've spent over a decade using those skills in different applications - academic research, defense, and business. It's never my intention to hide behind big words either, but we covered a lot of topics, so I needed to summarize a bunch. I think for a podcast like this you'd learn a ton by giving the most charitable interpretation of the expertise of the guests, but also realizing that the point is to "skip to the end" on a lot of insights. You can then filter these learnings to use or discard in your own life. Hope that's helpful!
It's almost as if someone can be a generalist of information and have expert knowledge in specific domains at the same time the 🧠 is just that powerful or something idk
You _do not need blockchain_ to sign videos. And it's harder to put a signature inside a video. But you need to do it based on the content, not the actual video file, because that can change a lot (like you can't know if before you upload.
Right when i thought I couldn´t like more this episode, Patrick mentions he wants to help free my country. Top guest. One of the most interesting and fruitful episodes ever. Thanks again for being the best podcast out there.
Interesting show but silly to listen to Americans logic "to free" almost every country in the world. How about getting healthcare or dental coverage for our own citizens to start from. Gun violence, deprivation, fentanyl crisis etc. There is a lot of other things that USA citizens will be happy to be free off. Comparison of SF vs poor countries was hilarious. Should we "go nerdy" and compare SF to Geneva instead since the USA is the richest country in the world by the books?
@@R7christiano I paid attention to the excel and enjoyed this show (as well as other episodes) until Patrick's shpeel about another countries. You guys all got excited as well hence my comment. I bet each of you contributed/donated more than myself to local causes but that reaction hits the nerve to be honest.
Great interaction! I loved it! Patrick, have you started a speaking tour yet? People would definitely pay to hear you talk about business. Are you coming out with a book yet?
I did a lot of speaking the past 5-6 years building my company, but have stopped the past year or so. Love to speak though. No plans for a book yet, but what would you find interesting if I did one?
Hey where can I get Patrick Campbell's "Bezos Numbers" spreadsheet? He said he would be happy to share it! 😄 ( I don't see the link anywhere unless I missed it )
On the subject of reducing school shootings. Has anyone considered the power of suggestion? What do you think happens when you have school shooting drills and shooters are mostly students? They should just call it future school shooter training.
Talking about cuba I work as a pharmacy tech Someone from Cuba came looking for ranitidine which has been linked to cancer so its no longer sold in the US but apparently it's still popular in cuba
Investing now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today. The Inflation is killing me prices is killing us all. The money made is not enough to sort everything out and the family. What we need is a lucrative business or investment. And I just did and very proud I did!!
9:10 A non-harmful radiation is probably the answer. I think they are in other products for similar reasons. Glock glow-in-the-dark sites are actually radioactive.
ha I think you're conflating me worrying about the legal implications with not understanding it since this would take on potentially something akin to registration or potentially running against the concealed carry grain (all of which may be ok, but was just thinking through it!). Also, I was trying to vamp off Sam's comments to get a little ribbing in ;)
holy moly you replying to my comment is even more shocking!!!! so cool!@@patticus and bro the information and perspective you provided in this video is literally beyond what most can see or do - if there was a way, it would be yall that could make it work !!! (also, you know way more about this process so ignore me bro but i appreciate the reply and i will watch more of your videos)
It wouldn’t even work. If they had something like that, black market gun suppliers would just figure out a way to remove it. There would be many older guns that don’t have this attached to it as well, in which case you’d have to confiscate every single gun out there which isn’t feasible and also against the constitution. Not to mention, people would figure out a way to take it off or somehow have a weapon made without it. Other countries might not have the same regulations and will make weapons without it. After all of this, there would be no way of being sure the area is gun free if you’re only looking for these new detectors in the gun, so you’d have to resort back to using metal detectors anyways. Not to mention, metal detectors also detect other weapons such as knives. Believe me, this would’ve been put into place already if it was that simple.
One thing I really enjoy about this dude is that he shows real interest in both shaan and Sam also their podcast. I’m sure this is in ever social science book😂
Sam's very right about the 'passion' vs Bezos-go-where-the-opportunity-is-strong thing. There was actually some Harvard research on importance of passion in entrepreneurship, that found if anything passion is a NEGATIVE correlation to likely success. i.e. passion, which is perhaps an emotional/irrational attachment or interest to the space, is likely to deceive you (I LOVE and NEED this product/service, so surely everyone else will too!?).
Unless your goal is to just make-a-crapload-of-money...@@MyFirstMillionPod Now I've reached at least a moderate 'first nut' of startup success, I've upgraded to make-a-crapload-more-money-doing-something-fun-and-interesting at least... the game gets addictive though.

I bought a bus pass and my joy didn't go up. And the wheels on the bus didn't go round and round. Those who don't take that one step and rely on others to pull them along won't see that true happiness. Take that one step. Don't chase the dollar to make the choice. Your freedom is not linked to other people and their idea of freedom.
Very true. I have seen people in my lifetime (58yrs young) attach to the vision of others. Thank you for your insight and thoughts on the podcast. And the Cuba bit was a gem.
ha if that's what you took away, my apologies for not being precise enough with my words. I don't think I'm capable of doing this with my current skills, cash, etc and I may never ever even come close to having those pieces that are needed to do so. Yet, instead of just living on a beach somewhere, my point is that I get excited by every increasingly larger and larger goals that would help me do something to help the world in some particular way. I could have said "fix education" or "solve X problem", but given my background and seeing what dictatorships do to countries, the interesting "if I get enough money and the knowledge, what's the biggest impact I could make" goal is to potentially topple a dictatorship. The chance I get there is incredibly small for so many reasons related to me and unrelated to me, but I find a north star like this motivates me more than some of the typical types of goals. Hope that helps clear things up.
@@patticus Fair point. There's an active genocide going on right now funded partially or wholly by the US govt. So your wealth & resources can have a profound impact RIGHT NOW!
400+ episodes of different podcasts, (TF, JRE, H3, DOAC) this is one of the most interesting episodes I've ever heard. Thanks for the quality content guys 🔥
