Even in a naturally aspirated car left foot braking is good to practice since you don't have have the delay when changing your feet over, this makes the braking and accelerating butter smooth when cornering if you overlap the pedals.

I’m 33. First thing I taught myself was rev matching shifts and down shift. I don’t usually brake boost on turns. I’m sure you don’t much either. On high speed turns like a hairpin on a highway on/off ramp it can come in handy. But when you know your car and it’s limits I usually just get down to a speed that’s about 20% under the cars grip limit and slowly accelerate through the turn keeping my boost at around 7-10+, then just at the ending of the turn roll into the accelerator to build the boost smoother and Matt it ahha. It still keeps the momentum of the rear end of my Si planted cause it’s being pulled through the turn. Of course that sport mode with the electronic dampening system helps in the turns to. This is actually my first turbo car. They have a small displacement and a small turbo so it take no fucking time to get the turbo to spool at its max. Between +7-29psi it’s almost immediate. This 10th gen is by far the most fun Si I have ever owned. More room, more amenities, heated seats, dual climate zones! The sport mode is what makes it. my 93 tune is set so when i put it in sport mode I have the extra 8-10psi (depending on iats) there if I need it. That’s something I can engage while on a pull also. I get the higher Mph limit also. Kind of like a scramble button!! I love that Air flow noise your car makes man! All the airflow noise I have comes from the Intake and stock exhaust. It's an interesting technique, but I personally think it's a bad idea for several reasons. 1. If I'm not mistaken, you're raising the boost level to happen at a lower engine load than it would be during normal acceleration. This is similar to flooring it in a high gear at a low RPM. It lugs the engine, and turbo Subaru engines are already notorious for experiencing knock events at high boost/low load situations. 2. It's only useful as sort of a trick when racing somebody from a roll. You basically pre-load the throttle but use the brakes to maintain the starting speed and when it's time to race you get a bigger burst of speed than your opponent who didn't cheat. I recognize your driving ability, I just see no real practical or safe application for this.

sweet vid! Ive gotta practice this. Wish I knew how to brake boost when I ran my STI at IFO. Did a 40 roll at the tree. Managed to trap 115 @ 9.3 secs. Not bad for a big ish turbo no brake boosting. Got raped by the Porsche I was roll racing though...

I tried this a few times today. I didn't notice much of a boost. Maybe I'm not building enough first. How many PSI do you build up before you release the brake and floor it?

i mean if your EWG'ated then you wont need to brake boost and put stress on your motor or brakes for that matter.. lol ewg'd setups have the least of lag. and pretty much all your boost almost instantaneously.

You are one confused dude. BB is for wannabe “rice racers” to effectively launch the car while rolling. LFB is a racing technique that has to do with weight transfer and car rotation, not “stability and power”.
