Great EP Guys.

When tightening flare nuts, tighten it, back it off 1/4 turn, then tighten again. You'll see that it tightens more than the 1/4 turn which should seal it.

Use your air compressor to blow the piston out of the proportioning valve body.

Just takes me back to when i was 6 years old helping my old man do the brakes on his Escort MkI. You did a great job there guys. That HG is gonna look the bees knees!

That air cleaner looks great. WOULD LOOK EVEN BETTER IF IT HAD A MATCHING OIL CAP!!!

If your running Disk/Drum HK HT HG never had a proportioning valve. The Disk brake vehicles had the 9/16” rear wheel cylinders. The drum brake cylinders and shoes were a different style. 1971 HG’s had the brake fail indicator. Sort of like the HQ had which was an ADR requirement. The OEM Service manual gives great detail on how to set the brake pedal free play, also with the Master cylinder push rod length. The brass distribution block lives behind the steering box the two lines from the master cylinder go to that and the feed to Front left/front right and to the rear come from that. The LH brake line ran up under the firewall with the clips there. Factory HQ/HZ brakes work fine on HK HT HG with factory master cylinder. Either Big nut cast iron or Alloy PBR…

Shoulda junked all that steel brake line as it'll be corroded inside. Nice bit of Kunifer is legal in Oz and a damned sight easier to work with than steel ;) Compressed air to pop the piston stuck in the bias valve. Did you use a locknut on the MC pushrod bolt?
