Tanya, thank you. I hope Amazon sends you a "pre release " firestick as your videos help sell the firestick. Yes, I'm excited for the extra memory. 4K movies are just getting larger and larger. IMO, this makes rewinding more difficult. 8K shows are out on RU-vid, Vimo. Rumor says Netflix will start soon. 8K may not look that much better but it creates "Product differentiation" and is a nice buzz word. No word if Dr. Who on the BBC will be in 8K when David Tennant comes back. Secondly, the faster CPU or ARM processor is a big boost. Plex, Tubie and others seem to move slowly. Some prefer the small firestick. Why? The fire stick is more portable than the cube and tucks nicely behind the TV. Of course, looking forward to Firestick gen 3 with 32 gig of memory and a dual quad core processor.

I can definitely see the difference between 4K and 8K on a 75 inch TV. Looks more smooth and crisp. But for smaller devices, it won't be as noticeable.

Prices in Canada (all available Sept 27) 4K $69,99 4K Max 79,99$ 4K Max with USB power cable 105,98$ 4K Max with Alexa Voice Remote Pro $124,98 I have a Firestick 4K Max and don't really see why I would buy the new one for 8GB more since I already have the storage I need (I only stream, so besides apps, I don't need storage). The improvements to the CPU and GPU aren't groundbreaking compared to Gen 1, so that doesn't make me want to buy a new one either. For someone who has a regular Firestick, I think it's only one worth getting, but for someone like me, maybe not. I'll see if Black Friday or Prime Day deals change my mind ;-)

Since installing apps I wanted had issues , main 1 is mouse toggle don't work , is there a workaround or do I just put otg and air remote as can't use duck go either are you getting these issues

I'm not sure as dependent on your location, the buttons may be different. My new 4K Max hasn't been shipped yet so I'm not sure exactly what buttons will be on the remote.

i plan to upgrade to 4k MAX for the better storage and processor, my current 4k gen 1 has a ton of apps on it and i dont remember whats on there exactly, when i log into the new device i will purchase will it migrate all the apps over through my amazon account or do i have to manually download everything one by one and look at what was on the old fire stick?

Wow, Tania! Your video from December 15, 2021 about cloning a firestick, was ahead of its time. It is a preferable alternative to the method described by Chris Waite in his September 29th video on how to transfer side loaded apps between firesticks. To put it succinctly, his method uses the Wi-Fi to transfer the APK files from one to another firestick, but requires two TV sets. Your method uses an OTG adapter and a USB flash drive to accomplish the transfer mechanically, and only requires one TV set. I will purchase the OTG adapter tonight!. Thanks! @@FireTVSticks

If you mean out of the box, when I purchased the 3rd gen fire cube, it had 12GB (out of the 16GB it comes with).

As the file system remains FAT32, file sizes are still limited to 4GB. Out of the box, you should have 12-13 GB of useable storage space.

Does anyone know if Kodi works correctly on the new Fire TV Max Gen2, because on Fire TV Max Gen1 it is rubbish to play h264 (mp4) on Kodi, nor does VLC work correctly with H264.

Hi, would you be so kind to do a video on the new firestick 2nd gen on how to add external storage, I am using the ugreen adaptor with otg cable, however when in about - storage - external space, it tells me no usb storage connected. I didnt add my sandisk 128gb memory stick until after my firestick was booted up. But still didnt get the pop up message. My sandisk is fat32. Please help

I just done a conversion rate from dollar to pound and here in the UK the $59.99 costs about £48.70 but the price shown is £69.99 so in the UK we end up paying over £21 more for the same stick

The 2nd-gen has 16 GB of storage. However, the 1st-gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max only has 8 GB. I would assume you have the 1st-gen and not the new 2nd-gen.

If not, that kind of kills the deal. Amazon can not include everything which means some development and "next great idea" will not be field tested. Open systems are built upon. This extends their user base and how they get used. The extra use sells more products. Even if people do not side load, knowing they can expand the firestick in the future is good.

Some individuals may argue that having 4GB of RAM on a streaming device is unnecessary. Additional RAM is typically required for multi-tasking, however, when using a Firestick, you will likely only be performing one task at a time, making 2GB RAM sufficient for its intended purpose.

Looking at the specs, it says Micro USB port. Why not a USB C like everything else? The esthetics of the curved design are lost on me as the device is hidden in the dust behind the TV 😉
