Now this is how it should be demonstrated in order to get the real sense of the powerful new Yamaha Genos 2 has to offer! As always, brilliantly played and presented by Leigh Wilbraham. Mine is on it's way and can't wait until I get it. When you come to think of it, it's brilliant that Yamaha has kept lots of similarity to the original Genos as that way one knows that unlike Korg, you don't have to dive into so many menus. Well, super done Yamaha and yes, it sounds incredible and almost more alive! Just to point out Leigh, it appears that there is a short delay between your initial playing and your hands on the video, apologies for my English whilst hope it makes sense ...
From what I'm hearing this is a different beast from the YG1. Better dynamic sound rich in tone with quieter instruments cutting through the sound that has plenty of punch when required. I think Yamaha has modified much inside this keyboard that's not been advertised. It definitely has a new feel to the sound. You can hear the change but you can also feel it. YG2 will grow to become a great keyboard.
Absolutely. I’d they had explained the difference in sound better I think people would have understood what Yamaha have been working on instead of trying to imitate an Apple presentation. 🍎
And I'm really happy with my Tyros 5 😊😊 Tyros line production had the best quality of the built quality, best keybed, keys, easy use of UI, and not so much different from Genos 1.... Though Genos 1 was really a big upgrade after Tyros 5... I don't deny it at all.... I can get Genos 1 but there something very nice and.... I don't know how to explain it that I don't want to change my Tyros 5 and I'm sure you have the same feeling about your Tyros 1....😊👍 And I'm not happy with Genos 2 at all.... After nearly 7 long years... in my humble opinion it's a disappointment because the upgrades are very minuscule.... No semi-weighted keys like Korg (PA3X, PA3X, Pa5x), Kronos and etc.... and styles are not that beautiful that it was in Genos 1.... I don't know why... 😕😕😕
Hi Leigh great demo and looking forward to you showing more around this fabulous instrument, I have ordered my Genos 2 today hopefully will get it in 2 weeks :) so I will be back learning more tips from yourself. - Del
Hi Leigh, the sound from the Genos 2 is great. In the future, you might hear some of Genos 2 sounds in move sound tracks. Some movies had Roland Fantom sounds on previous movie sound tracks. You might hear the Genoes 2 sounds on exercise videos or yoga videos also. This is coming from Canada. 😊
Hi Leigh, thanks for your video, I think I'll swap my Tyros4 for Genos2. The difference between Tyros4 and Tyros5 wasn't so big. Genos1also didn't convince me. I think it was worth my wait because now the Genos2 offers much more than a Tyros4 and more than Genos1 and sounds much better than previous Yamaha keyboards, especially when playing live. But I will wait after Christmas, I hoppe the price will be chiper then now. Note: I wouldn't swap a Genos1 for a Genos2, the offer is not enough for this money! Quastion: Is it posible to conect the Tyros4 Speakers with Genos2? Greetings Stefan
These Phil Collins drums are beyond doubt. I get more and more the feeling Yamaha has made a farewell arranger - throwing all songs in that you wanna always play, stuffing the Genos with all possible because in the future there will be no arranger anymore. They haven't develop any new technology because the realize that the future will be plug in arranger software ... look at the Montage plug in thats coming .... what do you think, Leigh?
Hi Leigh, I don't know if it is my sore head playing games with me, but audio and video seem a slightly bit off sync. Wasn't there in the previous videos, so just what I saw. However a lovely demo, as I tend to close my eyes on much of the music you play :-) Well done.
Hi Leigh. When you switch styles, if you've ended on Variation 4 before, and you switch to a new style, it doesn't go back to Variation 1 for the new style? It stays with the last Variation you have selected? Did it do that on the original Genos? Does it also do that on like the SX-900? You've also answered my question about the Leslie emulation speed-up and slow-down speed. It still is unrealistic, and I really surprised with Yamaha to let that go. Maybe they'll fix it in an upcoming release.
Correct, it doesn't go back to variation 1 after switching styles. Every arranger keyboard is the same. The best way to fix this is through registration memory. [One bank One song] is the best option, in my opinion.

Great demos Leigh as usual! Simple question for you now. You made a similar great demo with the opponent, PA5x. What do you think which one is the best? Which aspects make them better or worse? Thanks for your answer and looking into your deep dive evaluation of the Genos 2😊
PA5X is just a horrid interface. It’s complicated to use and the user experience is marred by the fact that to add a simple thing such as reverb takes too many button pushes. The sounds are nice and I can’t fault that - it’s just the interface and way it works. It’s so much nicer with the Genos and for me the Genos sounds a more complete sound. It just sounds real now. The sound of G2 is incredible. You have to go and play one.
The Ketron interface is much more a nightmare, than Korg ever was, but I didn't let scare me, also when the manual was confusing. My combination Tyros 3, Ketron SD90 and Roland Jupiter 50, is great. About my Tyros 3 I can complain only about drum sounds, but I use the Ketron for this with a user kit.
Excelente trabajo de demostración. Tengo Genos 1. Me convenciste de venderlo y comprarme Genos 2. Gracias a ti y gracias Yamaha! Como el mejor del mundo!
Thank you for your effort. ❤ABBA ❤Is accompanying guitars better than Genos 1 maybe??? I've been waiting for years that yamaha installed optional more Track for Drums. More than two Tracks. And more synchronicity and easy making for Audio Tracks in Styles. And maybe 6x Multi pad. None of this happened. Am I wrong? I've discovered somehing good On Style Creator. In Same Style can you make now Variation A 4/4 and Variation B 2/4 or 5/4 or Fill in 2/4. Is That correct? If really, is good. Very good for me. In Balkan or Anatolische music many time a half tact fill in or change of rhythm or charakter in the middle of the song.
Dear Leigh impatiently waited your verdict. I’m a Korg 4x one man band vocalists , covers all decades n swing. Not into ots or big intro just want a live feeling instrument live band to accompany vocals. 500 songs in my korg repertoire . Wants great piano , guitars strum , strings , drums n bass backing. Does this now blow a new 5x away ? Is it worth starting all over again with yamaha with all that work? Or is it just a personal difference .. to start again yamaha would have to be streets ahead! IS IT???
As in ive just started to look at the instrument not literally scratched it - Really... Do I have to explain everything like someone in Kindergarten @@christiansanden8005
Where can I find all the styles on the go for yamaha Genos 2 they all say that there are over 800 styles so how do I find them As I am currently having a great deal of problems with the way to search for Them so I will probably need to contact yamaha and ask them ik thanks.
Most arranger manufacturers don't have a true understanding of dance/edm music and to be honest there's so many genres and styles. From ibiza chill to hardcore - there's so much choice. Yamaha have gone for a "their version" of dance music. Nothing at all like people like basement Jaxx but it's an arranger and not a dance machine. It's ok as such and I wish there were more companies producing better dance styles overall.
the Genos is made only for hobiste at home and not on stage ! Ketron event is the best for that ! Genos 2 looks like is brother the one and for me less than the T5 ! the price is too high for an upgrade with some gadgets !
@@tcrosslinho5565Cause the soundcompression was not so high in the older models, even the drums sounds more natural on the Tyros, sorry but thats my impression, so i will keep the Tyros and saving money too
Yamaha ranks highest when it comes to the quality of the styles compared to the competitors. You almost don't have to play yourself anymore 🙂 That means adjusting my sheet to relate all the styles to the songs again. My Genos2 is on its way and will be delivered today
I would like to have that instrument, but here in Venezuela it will never arrive and I could never buy it either. Is there anyone who loves music and has the money to give me one? Thanks in advance.
