Y'all are going too lean on the low speed. That's going to be the main cause of your cutouts when opening the throttle. Fun video as always, hope to see more nitro stuff I'm getting back into it as well.

Landomoto I recently got a jato, started up perfectly out of the box and was extremely easy to tune he should have got a Traxxas Revo the ez start would have saved them the trouble.

Yes nitros can be a pain but once tuned and you know what you are doing it's the best. Cant beat the noise or smell of NITRO.

Yup, you can hear it running lean at idle and during part throttle. If idle is out of control, try richening the low speed needle.

I love nitros I still have my 2017 traxxas jato 3.3 TSM I got my old 2007 jato 3.3 back I got 2 jato 3.3s now

I've found the TSM on Traxxas nitros to be a pain. My brother has the T-Maxx 2.5 and I've got the Revo 3.3 and we both had nothing but problems with the TSM. Not sure if it's just the vibrations from the engine or the heat that is the culprit but I purchased a Spektrum radio and receiver that I'm going to try in it. I've had the Spektrum for about 5 months now and have been busy with my other RCs and my new boat to install it. I have read reviews that Futaba is better but I like the feel of the Spektrum.

You low needle is to rich and your throttle doesn’t close enough for idle. With all this you may be over tuning the high needle

Yeah your low speed was pig rich. I have mine tuned to where it’s a light smoke at idle if that and steady smoke at WOT. The little sh-18 in my volcano will do wheelies. I also mess with small gas stuff all the time so tuning is a bit easier.

Why do people buy this shit Electric is so much better reliable and low maintainance. If you want nitro sound just install a loud speaker and a smoke kit in electric one lol

That poor little engine. I put an ofna hyper .21 in my 1999 tmaxx back in 2000. So frustrating... I just about idled through 5 tanks. Many glow plugs i fouled out. No more than 1/4 throttle 1st 1/2 gallon, no more than 1/2 throttle for the next 1/2 gallon. Overkill ?? After opening the 2nd gallon a few weeks later, i finally opened the throttle. I've lost track of how many gallons this engine has powered through. Still runs great... 20 years later. I have an associated mgt primer bulb on tmaxx. I can usually start it 1st pull on a hot dry day.

I have a Traxxas nitro slash, it’s completely stock, and I haven’t needed to do any upgrades. It’s amazing as it is. It took me a few month to figure out hot to tune it, but once I figured it out it was super easy, and super fun to drive!

Love the vids kevin, ran nitro for years, switched in 2009 to electro, biggest tip for nitro: grab a torch and heat the cilinderhead for 10sec, then wait 1min and it will start first pull.. cilinder and piston are conical, they dont have pistonrings, preheating wil make the perfect gap between piston and cilinder.

HS 3.5 out from closed LS 2.5 out from closed, worth a try dude.. tell stemp to leave the glow ignitor on for a few seconds after start as the nitro will just cool the plug to fast and cause it to stall, you want thay plug to warm up nice, thats why they cut out at first when you apply throttle, Im probably telling you how to suck eggs lol..

Hey Kevin or people in the comments. I need help finding a suitable ESC and motor for an electric conversion of a losi XXL 2 gas. I'm looking for something that can handle at least 6s lipo and can run a full battery without overheating. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
