I like Sixpence, but I agree, the execution doesn’t feel entirely integrated and consistent. Swee is clever, a brand that brand designers would drink. It was smart for Insurely to avoid industry cliches, but I’m not sure how meaningful the collages will be to the audience. The font Ica uses is distinctive, but the overall look is not my favorite. Circa is more of an ad campaign than a brand.
As much as I like this series, please do a little more research upfront. For example: 'OKTO' may look weird for a native English speaker, but the pronounciation 'octo' never even occurs. For ICA, the horizontal symmetry is clearly there. And it's an important feature for the design. With taking a step back and just 10 mins extra in research, you can add another level of greatness to these videos. Nevertheless enjoyed it, though
I kinda disagree. Pronunciation (or mispronuncation) of a brand name is a real part of the customer experience. Ahrefs and Klaviyo both have this problem.
@@ethanrogers9627 Fair enough. And I see your point. Yet it comes off as either a little ignorant or a lack of respect towards the creators. But that may be just me
Hi Roy, I was trying to keep it casual but that may have come across as disrespectful so apologies to you and to OKTO who do great work. Similarly with ICA. I wasn’t questioning the symmetry, more thinking, off the cuff, can the offer be communicated through a simple wordmark. I wouldn’t put this commentary in a book. When you press record on a video one forgets to say certain things and adds others that are not intended. Appreciate you being here. ✌️
@@MattBruntonUK Lovely response from a lovely guy. Please don't see my comments as a way to scoff you or put you down. Again, I love the work you guys do. And maybe I'm just petty. But it didn't seem to conduct the love for the community the way you usually do. At least, to me
@@royvandermarel3953 Personally, I love that I feel like I'm just getting Matt's thoughts off-the-cuff. Sometimes that can seem negative but that's the price of honesty. Makes it all the sweeter when he does really love something. Hey, kinda like what you're doing now, Roy ;) Good chat, fellas, great to keep our standards high
