Agreed. Laptops do have a place in the space, but if you're not planning to game while on the move and you do all your gaming in your house then a laptop probably offers more cons than pros. However, I can definitely see Mr. "The only free time I have is while on hotels and riding to my classes" benefiting from being able to game on the go. Maybe that's what Ben meant?

Yeah, PCs both offer better price/quality and maximum quality overal. Because of size constrains on cooling mostly the highest end of graphics cards just isn't available on laptops, or only quite underclocked. And gaming laptops are way more expensive than similarly speced PCs. But for everyone who's not playing relatively demanding games or other demanding tasks (think video editing or training neural networks), a laptop is a non starter. You get quite a lot of convenience for basically 0 cost.

I just started Intentionally Blank on episode 12. Then I warped to episode 119. Apparently in that time, the one beard moved from Dan's face to Brandon's face. That's weird. It's weird to move a beard between two people. Not saying it's wrong. But... it's weird.

My friend’s home in Tahoe was just broken into caught on security camera - the bear- a long with her cubs… ate food from the pantry- hauled out and checked through the garbages & then brought snacks to the bedroom- ate through he chosen snacks on the bed, wiped her feet on the wall- and proceeded out the bedroom window… on to the next house… Beargler’s progeny is still hard at work.

Hey, tower PCs are definitely still a thing for gaming! While the space has cooled a bit due to Nvidia going for increased margins over the best performance they could create, it's still an interesting space with a ton of competition, and a stream of you building a custom PC would be really fun (even if it's probably a poor use of your time.) Gaming laptops certainly have improved, but they're still hampered due to power and cooling potential. They also tend to be more expensive in terms of gaming experience relative to a tower.

I'm only 4 minutes in but, they actually argued tower PCs aren't a thing for gaming anymore? That's.. a rather out of touch take. The DIY PC building community is still very much alive and well, in spite of Nvidia's best efforts the last few years (prebuilt tower PCs don't exist, that market is a horrifying mess of incompetence and awfully built PCs).

Ok, as an editor, I NEED to know how Ben got rid of Dan's mic smack at 16:28. I always have so much trouble getting rid of loud noises without compromising the dialogue on top of it! It's just the tiniest click now, and it doesn't seem to affect Dan's voice at all.

I can really sympathize with Dan not having a good gaming PC. I only upgraded recently on that front and let me tell you, it was a *treat* to play _God of War (2018)_ on high-definition. I have a whole back-catalogue of games on Steam which are just games that required higher-level settings, and I'm excited to try them out.

I don't know where Ben is getting his information, but gaming PCs are alive and well. There are entire RU-vid channels that are nothing but comparisons of in-game performance fir different desktop GPUs. There are definitely some good laptops out there though.

Note : Hades II probably won't be out by next July (if you're talking about official release), they just announced beta release by June 2024, so it'll probably be months after that until the game releases officially (Also Ben is wrong, gaming PCs are still very much a thing, not going anywhere, and especially not replaced by gaming laptops)

I know this is a big ask, but I’d love to hear both of your thoughts on Netflix’s One Piece. It’s the pirate story with superpowers that feels plucked from a child’s imagination. It is full of adventure and wonder, but also incredible depth, worldbuilding, and character work.

So, I started listening to this on my podcast app when I was getting ready for the day and then wanted to switchover to RU-vid once I was at my desk. I skipped to the timestamp where I was on the phone (25 minutes) and I've got more time left on this video than the podcast has total playing time. Do I have to watch this whole video to see what they cut out for the podcast version? Hmm....or do they spend 1/2 the session with dead air that is easily trimmed by currint dead air?
