Do you think Vincent Price would've made a good Bond villain?

This movie was meant to be a musical. There was even a TV promo called "The Wild Weird World of Dr. Goldfoot", but since the popularity of musicals was declining at the time, the songs ended up being removed. Price later lamented years later during an interview, "It could have been fun, but they cut all the music out".

I really wish Vincent had the opportunity to do more comedy roles outside the horror/sci-fi genres, he always made his appearances in them a bright point. There's a neat little comedy from 1950 called Champagne For Caesar in which he steals the show with his performance.

I'm a huge fan of Vincent Price. I saw this a long time ago so barely remember it, but Vincent Price makes everything better. He's my all time favorite horror actor to this day.

Thanks a lot. Now I'm sad that Vincent Price is gone again. Seriously, we've lost a lot of "one of a kind" actors in the last 20 years. There sure as hell isn't any close to him around nowadays. The guy was a national treasure.

If Vincent Price could make a EGG-cellent Batman villain, then he would've been a great Bond Villian.

Horror was WAY far kinder to Vinnie than it was to Bela Lugosi - and the Priceman certainly returned the favor with his perfect timeless balance of class and camp!

Vincent Price was great. You could tell he really enjoyed every movie he did.

The closest we got to price as a Bond villain was him guest staring on Man from Uncle as one of the Thrush masterminds

Vincent Price was doing comedy right up to the end, like Edward Scissorhand. A little before that, he was the funniest thing in Dead Heat, and that had plenty of decent comedy. "God doesn't want us dead- and if he did, we can buy him off!"

Susan Hart, who plays Diane, is something of a super-villain in sci-fi and cult film circles. As the widow of AIP co-chair James Nicholson, she owns the rights to several of the studio's most beloved and highly sought-after films, and refuses to release them. They include I Was a Teenage Werewolf, It Conquered the World, Invasion of the Saucer Men and The Amazing Colossal Man. She's something of a one-woman Toho.

Vincent Price was a true Renaissance Man. Actor, Art Connoisseur, Artist, Chef... There was nothing he couldn't do.

Dr Goldfoot appears in one of Alan Moore’s ‘League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ spin-off comics and this just reminded me of it 😂

Vincent Price was in some truly terrible films, but he himself was always fantastic. The amount of dross I've sat through just to see him onscreen is ridiculous 😁

Vincent Price makes any movie watchable

When I was six this was on my TV during the day and I distinctly remember when my parents came home I started singing the theme song!

Am I right in saying this is one of, if not _the_ best riffview channel on RU-vid? Brandon's comedy is so good. Out of dozens, I like two or three more channels, but I still prefer this one. Re-watching any of Brandon's videos is a good time!

I've seen both of these and I really enjoyed them, I sometimes do a weekend where I watch both Dr Phibes movies (Which you really should do) and both Dr Goldfoot movies. While he is a horror Icon his comic timing and delivery is priceless.

Please do more Vincent Price movies. I love monster movies and exploitation films but I also grew up watching Vincent Price so please continue.

Honestly seeing Vincent Price in anything- whether it is a serious or hammy film-is always an entertaining pleasure for me.

I figured Brandon's favorite Vincent Price movie would be Dr. Phibes. After all, he was trying to resurrect his wife, Caroline Munro.

I love the enthusiasm with which he presents his deadly gadgets. Especially the poisoned theater glasses blades.

Vincent Price is one of the best actors of all time, especially in horror films! He is in all 3 of my favorite horror movies, Theater of Blood and both Phibes films!

Ah, good ol' Vincent Price. I remember my first exposure to him was during that Scooby Doo miniseries, the 13 Ghosts. Good times! :)

As a little kid I was naturally drawn to him by having the same name. I have never swayed since. I remember this movie and thinking how terrible it was, but you have some of your best jokes in any episode in this video so kudos to making lemonade from this lemon.

Vincent Price did comedy with the same flair as his horror movies. You need to do more. Example: The Bat, also starting a pre-Bewitched Agnes Morehead, The Raven with Boris Karloff,Peter Lorre, and a young Jack Nicholson and The Fly.

The mid to late 60s were a good time for Bond parodies. The Flint series (Our Man Flint and In Like Flint) ended early because James Coburn didn’t want to be typecast, but Bond was still going strong.

"Vincent Price still manages to be entertaining." Did that even need to be said. Like, has he ever NOT been?

All this does is remind me of how much I miss Vincent Price and Christopher Lee. They Don't make them like that anymore.

Vincent Price actually made several horror based comedies, The Raven, The Abominable Dr Phibes, and Dr Phibes Rises Again.

My main reference point to this movie has been Kevin in Rifftrax complaining there's not a lot of dialog in...either Halloween or Alien, I forget, and saying they had had the talkie since 'Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine'

As if there was any need to further prove how awesome Vincent Price was, he made THIS watchable.

A live action Wacky Races/ Flying Machines starting Vincent Price as Dick Dastardly? How the hell did that not happened?

Like most things in this world, my first introduction to Vincent Price was in "Sesame Street" where they had a parody Muppet by the name of Vincent Twice, Vincent Twice (no, I'm not repeating myself, he was), and hosted their "Mystery" parody series. I never got the joke, but I liked how he repeated himself because he was a Muppet and Muppets are goofy.

I remember this being on TV quite often when I was a kid...yup, I'm old.

Just watched a Columbo with not only Vincent Price. But Martin Sheen.

I really never heard of "Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" before until I saw this video you posted. To this day I never saw any DVDs or VHS Copies of this film, and I never heard anyone in my life talk about it at all, expect you reviewing this.

the 60's Casino Royale with David Niven as Bond is a good parody of Bond

If you have any taste for old time radio, I highly recommend looking for Vincent Price's run on The Saint. Which, because of the 40s being the 40s, sees master thief Simon Templar taking time in between crimes to solve other crimes. So it's a detective show, except with a chaotic-neutral antihero schmoozing and snarking his way through mysteries - and Price is loving it.

1. Vincent Price is truly the Eighth wonder of the world. 2. That's the second most un-Igor Igor that I've seen. Second to Igor the Malibu himbo from the Killer Tomato movie series. 3. A mad scientist with a lair full of skimpy women? Think this could have inspired Dr Tongue's 3D House of Stewardesses?

You Can never go Wrong with a Bikini Machine combined with Invasion of The Bee Women and that's B Movie Heaven

Your timing on this is INCREDIBLE. I just got my hands on THE VINCENT PRICE COLLECTION from Shout Factory, which has 4 Roger Corman POE films, plus "Witchfinder General" and "The Abominable Dr. Phibes"... and I've been planning to watch "THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER" tonight! (I want to upgrade all of my POE films to Blu-Ray this year, and I'm starting with the 8 "core" Corman films, before branching out to other ones.) I saw ...THE BIKINI MACHINE on RU-vid a few years ago... I'd rather watch your review again that the actual movie. For that matter, I'd rather watch Frankie Avalon in VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA (1961) than this thing. That film makes LESS sense every time I watch it, but, at least it's actually fun! If you want to see a really fun movie with Vincent Price, check out HIS KIND OF WOMAN (1951) with Robert Mitchum, Jane Russell, and Raymond Burr. The story structure is uncannily similar to THE FIFTH ELEMENT (only not quite as funny), and Vincent Price is playing (more or less) the Chris Tucker part. (I'm NOT kidding!)

OMG! I totally forgot about this gem. It was one of those films that my whole family would watch together every time it came on. We loved it when I was a kid.

Hopefully some one makes a box set of all Vincent price comedies and horror comedies.

I had the surprise pleasure of a brief E-mail correspondence with co-star Dwayne Hickman (RIP, Dobie) in the early, early days of the World Wide Web around 1995. Super nice and gracious dude. Now, can Theater of Blood, The Raven, Masque of the Red Death, or The Abominable Dr Phibes be far behind? How about Last Man on Earth? Richard Matheson story, and public domain to boot, if I'm not mistaken. No flagged footage!

I love how near the end this movie effectively turns into a buddy comedy. 😄

Sure it was coincidental and unintentional, but your review of this movie brings me so much joy. Brings back happy memories of the old independent TV channels before networks took them over. Remember seeing this on a Vincent Price Saturday on one of those channels. It was the first time I had seen Vincent Price do anything that wasn't adapted from Edgar Allan Poe, or other classic literary works.

If it was out in theaters around here in 1965 = My grandparents most likely saw it.

Fun fact Doctor Goldfoot is one of the main villains in the third volume of the League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen spin off about Captain Nemo.

OMG!! I saw this a couple of times when I was 7 or 8, my local Fox network(pre-cable in my area) would play these types of movies after their weekly showing of a Godzilla movie. It was either exploitation -style movies OR Kung-fu movies that my mother would often turn off if she happened to get an eyeful of how violent they were. The theme song from Dr Goldfoot has been in my head since then, so 40+ years. So glad you included it in your vid. My memory of it was pretty close, slightly different harmony. There was also a sequel to this, "Dr Goldfoot and the Girl Bomb" and I feel like they slightly recycled the theme song, just changed the words to fit the new title. Tell me I'm not just imagining that. Edit: I just got to the end of the video where you mentioned the sequel, my vote is for a vid on that one too!!
