Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews: KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE 

So is anyone here scared of clowns? Or klowns?

My father used to tell me a story about a night when him and his friends got drunk on some small mexican town and went to see a movie. He said that it was about murderer alien clowns and was the most bizarre movie he has ever saw. He wasn't even sure it had happend. He even tried looking for it to no success. I showed him this and, indeed, this is that movie.

Easily one of the most fun monster movies ever made.

Now i want "Dinossaur Tiddies From Japan" to be a real thing

Using the cop as a hand puppet is a surprisingly creepy and scary moment in an otherwise mostly goofball movie.

Biker: “ what are you gonna do? Knock my block off?” Shorty: “ what do you think I’m going to do? Give you a lollipop?” 😂😂😂

I remember actually being scared of this movie as a kid. The scene where the cop shows back up to the police station and finds his boss as a human puppet was super creative and disturbing

Fun fact: the post-hardcore band Chiodos took their name from the directors (they even went by The Chiodos Bros before shorting it to just Chiodos).

Creature features like this really need to make a comeback.

“Are you Debbies roommates?” Love this movie. Many disturbing scenes. The clown beckoning the little girl and the music playing... so creepy and disturbing.

Man...I miss when people put this much effort into a bizarre, low-budget insanity like this.

From the interwebs: Jojo the Klownzilla, the colossal klown who appears at the end of the film, was originally intended to be created using stop-motion animation, but was instead portrayed by Charles Chiodo in a rubber suit.

One year later... “Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?” One year after that... “Hiya, Georgie!” This movie really _did_ kick off the killer clown phenomenon, didn’t it?

You know if there were an 80s Spider-Man Movie, John Vernon would've made a great J. Jonah Jameson.

Is no one gonna talk about that this is one of the very few times that Brandon is actually reviewing an official Movie that isn't Godzilla and not having those videos striked or flagged.

Killer Klowns was the first movie I ever bought on DVD after having watched it relentlessly on VHS. It remains one of my top ten favorite movies

This movie is the most 80s thing ever. So happy to see Brandon do a review on it.

They stuck this baby on HBO back when I was a teenager. It would cycle between this, Used Cars and that Corman space flick where Erin Moran gets her head crushed. It was beautiful, man... Just beautiful.

I remember when me and my brothers stayed up late to watch this on the Syfy channel back in the day. We laughed so hard. Good times.

Oh, now I remember why I've avoided cotton candy since I was five: the thought that, underneath the first layer, there's a blood mummy inside it.

Fun fact: The clown costumes were repainted to look like trolls for Earnest scared stupid.

The killer clown march is such a great track from this movie.

This one of my favorite movies from back in the day. I'd just graduated high school, and this was one of the funniest movies I'd ever seen back then. "Bad Taste" is another excellent movie that I'm surprised Brandon hasn't covered yet.

I don't know if anyone commented this yet, but during the beginning sequence, when John Vernon's character is driving through town and sees the pedestrian with the grocery bags full of beer, well, that's stand-up comic Christopher Titus playing the character Bob McReed. :)

Christopher Titus's first movie and probably my favorite midnight monster movie.

Fun fact: Stand up comedian Christopher Titus had a small bit part as one of the teens who were parking. Like the Evil Dead shirt.

I am going to introduce my 6 and 8 year old's to the film later today. Maybe some fear will keep them from constantly fighting! edit: I didn't sleep much last nigh guys. Not a good idea...lol

Please do an episode on Jey Li's "Meltdown" Its basically asian Die Hard with a side order of Bruceploytation and is seriously funny as shit.

I just want to say, I've enjoyed watching your title card artist grow in their artistic potential. I don't know who does them, but they've definitely improved over the years.

This is one of my favorite movies. (I've got a lot of 'bad' cult favorites.) I think you failed to name Royal Dano. (Whose career started in the 50's, and included many tv roles, all the way to Twin Peaks, and included Spaced Invaders, and House II.) And I remember Soupy Sales (though I also remember the 60's, so...) who was not only known for pie fights, but "hey kids, go to your mom's purse, and send me some money." (He got in a lot of trouble for that one.) And I think the Dickie's "Killer Klown's" is right up there with 707's "Mega Force." And how did you over-look the "Snake Clowns", Lego Batman's one weakness. As always, but especially now, thank you so very much for your observations and the video.

From coroner to college dean to cop, John Vernon had quite the career, I think, and he was in "The Outlaw Josey Wales" with Clint Eastwood, too.

Just introduced this classic to my son today. Let's just say he didn't appreciate it's brilliance.

I have to explain to people how dangerous the clowns would actually be if they were real. They possess some pretty staggering abilities that would be very hard to overcome. They can manipulate matter, have super human strength and durability (apart from their nose), telepathic abilities.

Hell yeah! Killer Klowns is one of my favorite kult klassics.

I especially liked all the references to Fifties sci-fi in the movie. More subtle than Joe Dante but still fun to spot. It's Invasion of the Saucer Men taken to the Nth level.

John vernon can make anything better with just his presence. Seriously, he wouldn't even need to talk, just do menacing scowls. And it would be incredible.

Hell of a good flick! And no, mind you, I do not mean "so bad it's good" bull$h!t - I actually think it's JUST PLAIN AWESOME! It's really clever and imaginative, and I really admire it for that.

I remember seeing this movie on HBO when I was a kid. It stuck with me. It was actually really entertaining.

I saw parts of this movie playing on tv, at a friend's house, when I was six years old. It was a very large screen tv, my best friend's father was watching it while my friend and I were playing in the next room... Nightmares for YEARS! (I loved the circus, I even took little kid clowning classes, but anything CLOSE to this movie's imagery WRECKED my tiny psyche.)

Finally!!!! Lol this movie scared me shitless when I was a kid, but just loved the nose killing haha.

10:30 Hey, whoa-whoa! Is this a theatrical version, or was there a directors cut available. That scene with the little girl played out different, if my morbid head is in the right place. The version from iTunes had it, where the girl began to sneak out of the burger place, sneakily, while the camera shifted outside. The camera lingered on the clowns backside while he beckons the girl, and in his hand he holds a large mallet. And the scene ends, leaving the concluding events up to the audiences deduction. It was dark, but also kind of funny. Morbid funny

The Terenzi Brothers ( Ice Cream Truck Drivers) were not played by the Chiodos brothers but rather by Michael Siegel and Peter Licassi. The more ya know...

Killer Klowns is an immortal classic. So goddamn good.

I knew Brandon would cover this movie eventually.

Fun fact, that car chase was sped up because the Chiodos couldn’t get away with breaking speed limits in the little town where they shot this movie. Another fun fact, you know that scene where the clown in the invisible car runs that guy off the road? The car was supposed to fly off the bridge but the cable snapped so it just fell into the ditch. You can actually see the cable if you look at the scene close enough.

This movie is fun and the gags were used in very ingenious ways.

The Chiodo Brothers also did the Rat Taxidermy figures in the Dinner for Schmucks remake.
