I love when you let us know that “I used too much” and tell us that you are dialing it back. So many creators use 3-4 times as much product as I would ever use and it often causes me to over apply and then have to dial it back. You always give us an idea on how much is needed. I love that attention to detail.❤️

Many youtubers recommend cream products for over 40. But they also often mix a powder in. I find the cream products for blush do not last. I also do not care for cream eyeshadows. They crease.

A drugstore option for lower lashes that literally won’t go anywhere is the No7 stay perfect long lasting volume tubing mascara … it’s the only thing I ever use on my lower lashes . I love you Emily 🥰 Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family 💜

No7 has some beautiful eye shadow as well. I didn’t know they have a tubing mascara as well. I still think I want the Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions, as I’ve tried that one and it FREAKING WORKS.

Yes, they’re tubing mascara works very well. I was spending $30 for Trish McEvoy’s Tubing mascara and is awesome, thought I would never find another as good. But you are so right No7 has a tubing mascara just a good and costs only $7!!

I just wished to mention that I appreciate the struggle with manicures. Instead of aiming for the coloured perfect painted nails, I opt for nail care. My handcare consists of oil massages with focus on the nails . When my cuticles stay permanently smooth and perfect, and my hands are hydrated, I'm happy with my manicure. A coat or two of clear or blushed clear are all the polish I need.

As a fellow lover of lip color, I'd love to see you try the Kaleidos Cloud Lab Lip Clays. I've hardly heard anyone talk about this brand, but these are the perfect liquid lip colors for me. They set to the point of not transferring but stay really comfortable and not drying at all. And they have some gorgeous colors!

I liked the look you created with the Nabla palette. For a suggestion the Nabla highlighters are really beautiful. The Tower 28 lip and cream blushes are great to use and blendable too.

NABLA is another brand I am soo into. I oove their eyeshadows - I have 2 cutie palettes and the quality is SO GOOD! But I am interested to try their new cheek duos they came out with. I also have a few of their thicker eyeliner / eyeshadow sticks. And those are lovely too! They are definitely a brand I want to see more content on.

Yes, totally agree, those liners/shadow sticks are fantastic! I love the burgundy one and will get the dark blue now, it has been in my wishlist for long. And the cutie palettes are indeed beautiful. I also love the foundation, the Close-up, which seemed to be more of a soft natural matte finish but having a pretty dry skin, I absolutely love, it really surprised me and it is great for traveling because of the small compact squeeze bottle :-) Also their square bronzers and blushes are so gorgeous! So many products, hard to point which ones to try first..

Omg...I laughed too hard when you said you're hearing "phantom cries" lol. I remember those days....my kids are now 9 and 11 and I hear phantom coughs at night every cold and flu season🤣😐😢 Ps-- I need ALL the Maybelline stay matte crayons--thanks Emily! 😂

I am the SAME WAY! Lol. My girls are 8&10 and I hear Phantom knocks on my bedroom door, sometimes in the middle of the night that wakes me up out of a deep sleep. I'll ask them the next morning, "Did either of you need me last night?" Bc I'll call out (it seems like I call out in my sleep) "come in..." and nothing happens. So then I worry that I missed them and I have to get up and go check. And they'll tell me in the morning- "no we didn't get up till just now." That's when I realized that us moms get the phantoms. Whether it's coughing, like you get, crying, like Emily gets, I think it's just a mom thing bc my husband NEVER ever hears the Phantom knocks. Although he does sleep deeper than me. But bottom line, there's never anyone there. Kinda freaky!

Definitely some brands I've never tried. I still want to give a shout out to Bravon Beauty. Bravon was former bareMinerals president Leslie Blodgett's personal makeup artist. When she left the company, Bravon launched his own brand. There isn't anything I've tried that I haven't liked, and the company is very generous with samples. They just ask that you try them and leave a review on the website.

There’s one brand that came to mind during this - Lawless Beauty, specifically the lip products (lip liners, lipsticks & “forget the filler” gloss). She’s got some amazing lip products. ❤️

i’m so glad that you made this video. LYS is one of my favorite brands and the price point is amazing for the quality of the products that you get. their translucent powder, bronzer, cream blushes, highlighter, face serum and brushes are my favorites, and i have basically loved everything that they’ve released. as for westman, i was very intrigued by them but they’re so expensive. i’ve heard that the eye pods because they are too difficult to work with. i much rather try the em cosmetics stick blushes and contour sticks. i LOVEEEE NABLA!!! the side by side palette is one of my favorite palettes ever. i love the mix of cool and warm tones. they have INCREDIBLE bronzers, highlighters, blushes, eyeliners, lip liners, lipsticks and glosses. so basically, you can’t go wrong with any nabla products. from what my friends have told me, the milk primer is not good at all. tower 28 glosses and cream blushes are awesome. you should reallllly try the item beauty mascara. it’s a reasonable price and the mascara is so amazing for your lower lashes!!! you look absolutely beautiful.

My youngest is only a couple months younger than your son - have you tried using a time to rise device? Yay Nabla 😍 Italian brand 🇮🇹❤️ I love their pressed powder, it’s super lightweight and sets makeup beautifully. The glitter palettes are stunning, I have Miami Lights. I wanna try more from them, like the new mascara and actually the Side by Side palette has been on my wishlist for a long time. I need to try tubing mascara, they sound amazing!

I love using cream products and find they last longer on the eyes than powders. So I’d love to see more of that. For years I struggled with eye irritation. As soon as I applied eye makeup my eyes would run. After a looooooong process of trying different things (eye drops, antihistamines, different foundations, eye primers [such a bad experience] foundation, application methods, mascaras, no eyeliner, different brands, non-waterproof). It wasn’t until I tried cream shadows that I solved my problem. I have ditched my powder shadows and have begun playing with other cream/liquid products as I gain confidence.

I use no powder and I've replaced it with setting spray! I just make sure to either use it on a brush for precise application or gently press it in with a sponge to set it in place 🙂

I use the rose inc concealer as foundation, and in my experience you could use a quarter the amount you put on and get a flawless application. It is *full* coverage. I’ve really enjoyed all the products I’ve tried from them.

The tower28 blushes are great! I’m impressed with the Caliray mascara on your lashes bc I’ve tried other tubing mascaras and they don’t thicken/volumize the lashes so I just use them in the lower lashes to avoid smudging. Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️

I wear all cream products a lot. I love the covergirl bb cream, it has great staying power. The product for me, that can make or break a cream look is the concealer. My favorites are the benefit cakeless boing concealer and the loreal infallible full wear concealer.

I'm full-blown cheapo mode this year, being in a mask when I go outside killed all my make-up needs outside of eyeliner, a splat of concealer for my circles and a dab of lipbalm. That said a blast from the past of some formerly popular brands that are not talked that much anymore is interesting. Cargo cosmetics, Three Custom Color, Prescriptives, Origins, Girlactick and DuWop come to mind. Among the indie brands Necromancy Cosmetica and Portland Black Lipstick Company comes to mind as brands to try.

Same here, I'm in a mask 8hrs a day so NOT wasting my money on blush, highlight, lip liners, lipstick, or gloss. It's like a forced no buy 😂 If I'm just staying home some days I'll trot the gloss bomb out, just because.

I purchased the same Rose inc.Trio and I really enjoyed it! I will say as someone who has combo- leaning oily- i can only wear the blush in winter bc it is really dewy/emollient but it is still somehow less dewy than Tower28 blushes. I like locking in the blush with a coordinating powder blush. As for the brow and lip crayon products- I love them! The brow "gel" is actually a waxy pomade which works well for my thinner brow hairs and the lip crayon has a bit more moisture or a better balance of silicone and oil. which lends to a great lip crayon for a smudged/blotted lip effect that i like more than the maybelline crayons for moisture. But if I need something to stay then I'm looking for my maybelline crayons.

The flower beauty day glow highlighting glaze is my everything for a dewy look that doesn't seem to lift foundation. Plus it gives you the wet look but isn't tacky. I have stunner as a shade. And lys cream blushes are great. Tower 28 cream blushes are amazing too.

Fantastic to see you discovering Nabla - they have some wonderful products. Their eyeshadows are bomb and you get several different formulas in their palettes and some gorgeous shades. You could do a full face easily, their skin glazing highlights and blushes are sublime and the skin realist tinted balm is a lovely light foundation or they have a Close Up futurist foundation which is also lovely. I don't think you'd be disappointed no matter what you purchased, I've never had a bad product from them:)

I have that Nabla palette and if there’s one shade you have to try it’s love ritual. It is so beautiful! Love ritual and cedar wood are my two favorite colors in the palette. Like with most palettes, I do have to look elsewhere for my inner corner light shimmer shade, because all of the light shades in this palette are just too warm for my light skin tone (yes, even ray of light). So I use my L’Oréal oil eyeshadow in Queen for my inner corner. But that love ritual shade on the middle of my lid just gets me every time, it’s so so good and it keeps the look from going too warm for me. The nabla skin glazings are so good, they have shades that work as highlights and blushes. Also love their skin Bronzings and lip products as a whole.

Hey Em, regarding Nabla- I actually think they really shine when it comes to the formula in their Cutie palettes. They also make great mascara and eye stylos.

LYS has just arrived here in the UK in the last month so i picked up the cream blush and the bronzer, they are brilliant for the price, the bronzer is my favourite, I'd definitely try more from this brand, Tower 28 you definitely need to try the cream blushes again amazing for the price

Yesterday I tested not setting any of my makeup and I was shocked at how nice it looked all day. I have very oily skin but I was able to freshen the look by tapping my sponge over it whenever I needed a touch up. That being said I still love setting powders haha.

The Nabla cutie palettes are fantastic, as are their blushes and bronzer and contour and highlights. Another good brand along the lines of Nabla is Kiko Milano.

LYS is one of my favorite foundations. It is absolutely perfect for online meetings as you look fresh without looking made up. It is also a clean brand and the value cannot be beat. I would encourage people to try it. I hear her primer is great so that's next on my list Try the bronzer. I adore it. So soft and pigmented.

I love the Side by Side palette! They have several textures in that palette. I have had it since it launched and it is one of my most used.

I wore the LYS to my daughter's wedding in October and it wore well! That's my shade too😃 Emily before you use Lisa Eldridge foundation- it is finicky- apply one section at a time, and for me it was too drying. Just my opinion, but I have LOTS of foundations. 🤷😂 I love this video Emily!❤

I agree. I have to work hard to make the Lisa Eldridge foundation work. It’s beautiful when you get it right, but for $61 I don’t want to work that hard 😂

It wasn’t finicky for me and wore nicely on my very dry skin. The right primer was important for me with this one.

@@ginnyburley9552 what primer did you use with it? I am dry too. I am afraid to even try this foundation because of all the awful reviews. Allie Glines drives me nuts because she lives everything she tries and doesn’t pick things apart like other creators. This is why I trust Emily because she is honest and when she has to work hard to make something usable, she tells us. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows when she reviews a product.
