@MelaninKingg Because there's a clear distinction between being able to deliver live, in the moment, combating nerves, and coordinating your breathing, whilst performing and singing within the seclusion and safety net of a studio where you can do retakes and have the best take chosen as the final recording. Furthermore this was clearly lip synced. It's apparent from the complete lack of impact her movements have on her vocals as well as the mismatch in the acoustics between the track and the environment she's in.

@@dawudjibreel6075 Which is what she did, LIVE. Grew up in an acapella church, sang on Broadway, her recent Colors was live and in color. So what exactly is your angle? You say that a lipped performance is basically inferior to a live one, yet mention that “it’s still her vocals to be fair” Well of course it’s fair. Whether she lipped this or not, IT IS INFACT STILL A BRANDY PERFORMANCE. She’s given so much vocally that she’s earned the right if so. No one needed to question the authenticity of this performance. You say it’s obvious, yet you felt the need to highlight what you thought was fact. You weren’t even there live to know if it was live or not. This video has been taken down and put back up several times over the years. It’s a video! Also her body shifting shouldn’t have that much of an effect on her voice if her diaphragm is upright and engaged. Do you know what she’s accomplished and capable of ? You need upright posture and an engaged core and breath capacity to sing as intense as she did here. She works out, hard, and practices all the time. She quite capable of singing this song live. There’s literally an 18 minute video of her singing raw acapella. You don’t think she practiced well or hard enough to be able to do this live? You don’t think she learned how to combat nerves from broadway? What authority do you have to challenge the ability or performance of an artist who is basically an expert in her field at this point in time? All of the love and support and reverence for this performance as noted by the comments and likes is enough to tell you that no one caressss. Like that’s the input you chose, not the beauty and emotion of the recording (as you claim), not the aesthetics, not Brandy’s acting.. no you just wanted to say she lipped this performance. Well what now? She’s still capable, she’s still beloved, and you’re still inconspicuous.

I think the live version is undoubtedly better than the original. Personally I think she should've released this version, promoted it and it might have done well!
