Music composed by James Horner. Rightholders of the movie sequences are Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox. In this video we show you the Braveheart film locations in Glen Nevis and the famouse mountain scene - and how to get there!
Braveheart was a great movie,....and the scenery around Scotland is beautiful and breathtaking....you almost feel the the battles of years ago haunting the landscapes , but the glorious views remain the same to this day
Excellent! Very well laid out and not confusing. I watched a 40 minute one that was more of a content video. This shows the locations and how to get there. We went once , 2 days ago, but will head back out after watching this.
I'm going in June and just rewatched Braveheart and decided I had to find that spot on the mountain. As you said there are no references to it anywhere but you found it and I'm grateful for it. Awesome video!

@@mattmurdock57 I have some old videos on my profile. Bective abbey, location where you can see the princess walking with her french assistant in the movie. Some ruins where the royal wedding was filmed. And also, if you ever visit Trim castle, they have an album with pictures from the film. When I visited Scotland I went to Falkirk and Stirling following William Wallace steps but next time I will check your video before !!
Thankyou so much for the effort and research you guys have put in to making this. What an eye opener, I have walked the Aonach Eagach ridge a few times and could never have imagined that I was walking in there footsteps. Truely incredible. I have also walked, camped and enjoyed Glen Nevis but next time will be far me exciting for me. Again thankyou so so much, one of the biggest surprises I have found on RU-vid. Awesome. Calum McNab.........x
+Calum Mcnab We thank you very much for your encouraging words! It's cool to see that others share this "Braveheart-phenomenon". But ensuing from your name you kind of grew up with the highlands :)

Thank you for making this video and your others! We were able to climb the mountain today and hope to do the Glen tomorrow. Good work! I wish we could send you a picture of our trip up the mountain!
Thank you for your appreciation and that you share your joy with us! We'd be glad to see some of your photos. If you like you can contact me via facebook: Nils Weremchuk. Have a safe trip tomorrow!
We are in Glen Nevis at the moment and have been to the Braveheart car park. Hoping to try and find the filming spots over the next couple of days. Love your video. This movie has been my favourite since inwas 16 and I can't wait to check out the locations.
Wie geil! Das gleiche hab ich auch schon seit langem vor.. Ich hoffe Ende Oktober wird das Wetter für ein paar Tage gnädig sein und wir können auch da hoch! Schottland is einfach geil!
You did a masterpiece! You did an unbelievable work! You are great men and you are heroes. Your English is flawless even if you are Germans! Congratulations! FREEDOMMMMMMMMM
@@MagnoliaMagnifico Thank you for the appreciation! I just said the same a few days ago: they don't do such movies anymore. It's always good to see that there are still other people out there who are not "superficial". :)

Very informative. You said it took you 3-4 hours to make the ascent up to Aonach Eagach. It does not appear you have any technical climbing gear. Was the trail dangerous or was it relatively safe and easy? What supplies would you recommend to bring?
+brandon polkowski Sorry for the late response! We're happy that our video is still being watched so thank you for your comment! The route is not so difficult to walk and you don't need any gear (we're no professional mountaineers and made it at our first try :) ). Good boots and enthusiasm should be enough! If you're afraid of hights the last section could be a bit challenging though. And don't go there if it's rainy or foggy. :)
Im making a trip out to Scotland next week and hoping to be able to climb to the summit like yall did. Where can i find info and navigational coordinates to the spot mel gibson stood in the movie?
Enjoy your trip! 😀 Recently another youtuber put out an in-depth video concerning the locations - including the mountain scene. You'll find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LYtpcCqeG1c.html

@@mattmurdock57 i will send some photos to you and maybe you can see if i was close. I used your video as inspiration to find this spot 👏🏻 fantastic work. Its possible to email you?
Hello there, unfortunately we can't tell the exact coordinates but the mountain scene is somewhere around this spot: MXJW+7Q Caolasnacon, Kinlochleven, Vereinigtes Königreich
this is where the noblemen rode down at the start of the movie and also where McAndrews home was errected: 56°47'28.5"N 5°03'31.3"W 56.791237, -5.058685
I went there on 12/10/18 and couldnt for the life of me find that tree at the 5.10min mark.Spent ages walking everywhere.Found the burial spot easy enough.
