After a string of brazen retail thefts in San Francisco Kenny Choi tells us store owners are fed up and the District Attorney is vowing to crack down on the culprits.
Same with Los Angeles who voted for George Gascon, the former D.A. of San Francisco. They're recalling that clown as well. SF traded one clown for another. Both are best friends of criminals.
@@LoanwordEggcorn Old George is said to own the St.Louis DA ,and look at the mess they have there,he knows the right amount of money ,in the right place ,at the right time will carry a DA race.
@@deanmason5900 George Soros is very active in electing District Attorneys that are soft on crime and protect criminals in the name of "social justice". This is documented fact that anyone can look up in the political financial records. It is not a conspiracy theory. The net result is more crime, more criminals, more victims, more murder, more theft, and less justice, social or otherwise. In fact most of the victims are in poorer, more minority communities. That is the exact opposite result from social justice. The generous might say this is an unintended consequence of a well-intended but misguided policy. The less generous might say this is a way to control people, increase the power of government, and increase the power, wealth and influence of elite multi-billionaires like Soros, at the expense of most people, their freedom, their safety and their quality of life.
@@peppereater3028 Well, it wouldn't be to work in. I worked for along time in a chroming factory, the company had to supply me with new boots once a month because the acid would dissolve them. I'm partially deaf now from working in factories for years. That's how I made my money. Not by stealing.
@DaquariusIsDaScariest My buddy works in a Aluminum extrusion plant and he said it so damn hot in the summer that its hard to think sometimes! He said people just up and quit and walk out the door during the hot summer months ..
can you imagine working at a CVS or Target making $15/hr for your 6 hour shift, and then some thief comes in and steals 5 shifts worth of what you make in 5 minutes unprosecuted
@nasty piglousy Some criminals are made examples of, the rest are released to be the informants for the secret police, one of the successful methods of spreading the police state through the soviet block.
The Governor, upon being interviewed, had the nerve to claim that crime was down! My heart goes out to the store owners who are victims of not only rampant shoplifting but also a government who flatly refuses to enforce the law and protect them. It's pure insanity
now you understand the nature of the beast. Cool trivia stuff: The reason they have a 99.9% conviction rate for all crimes in Japan is they won't file it as a crime unless it's solvable.
yup...they all should be fire !!!! and bring some one else in if they can get the job done ! Mayor of SF needs to step up and DO the right thing ! protect the local !
felony is too harsh in my opinion. My proposal is that if you shoplift your get mandatory community service at least 10 hours That will Fix them up real quick

Hold the judges and DA's office accountable. The Mayor and Governor too. This wouldn't happen if they did their jobs objectively and not follow the 'Party" line of BS !
Chesa buodin is not the only one, everyone forgot Kamala Harris was San Francisco D.A and she was a criminals defender as well, she created the proposition 47 lead to more crime to nowadays
For every shop lifting conviction, the perpetrator should have one finger removed. They shoplift enough times, and they will have no fingers left, then it moves on to their hands. They should be made ineligible for welfare benefits.
I think in some cultures they do something like that. If that was the case there would be a lot less theft. But the welfare benefits denial is an excellent suggestion!
@@gooser__43 No. WRONG! They're two wings of the same bird. They're all extremists, and they're all destructive. If, as you claim, ANTIFA/BLM are communist and currently allied to the "establishment", Proud boys are Fascists, and currently allied to the American Nazi Party, the KKK, the American Freedom Party, the Aryan Brotherhood, the National Socialist Movement, the White Aryan Resistance, as well as other white supremacy organizations. The Proud Boys weren't simple or benign flag wavers on January 6, 2021.
Gosh, who could have predicted this? All they did was declare that shoplifting was just a noble act of providing for one's family and refuse to prosecute, and this happened.
After 17 walgreens closings, numerous other stores due to shoplifting, we get: One shoplifter,.ONE, who as otherwise indicated, will probably get more harshly treated for the plastic bag than the stealing. I wonder what it will take to get them to prosecute shoplifter number 2 ?
Except that’s a lie & isn’t at all what happened. They changed the law to make any theft under $950, a misdemeanor. Which they should have & was voted in. This is almost entirely where this is spun from. People(like yourself) also keep claiming the DA said he wouldn’t charge anyone for shoplifting because it’s a ‚nobel act‘, when in reality all he said was he wasn’t going to charge quality of life crimes such as being homeless(sleeping on the street, public urinating(so homeless people going pee), soliciting the nasty, or blocking a sidewalk. Basically crimes generally attributed to the homeless. Right After, he said he does & would continue to charge every person, with enough evidence to charge, who had committed theft to any extent, including misdemeanors. He never said he wouldn’t prosecute them, or stopped prosecuting them. Just because you watch far right news that wants to constantly blame democrats for everything & are too lazy to look up charges brought by the DA, does not mean he isn’t charging them. The problem is mostly related to an increase in organized crime, not the general public stealing more for fun.
I used to work at Sears and the door alarms would go off all the time and no one would address them- they'd just write the thefts off. This is what happens when you ignore a problem. People know they can easily get away with it.
If people get desperate enough they will find a way to get through those gates. They only difference is that the police will rush out there to protect them.
Ilike batsoup proper bend over in the shower hugs 😁 Ridiculous how you can bring in a policy or law where you can take hundreds of dollars of goods with zero consequences.
Wältér-Ràul Chínchíllä in England we had an ex PM say 'hug a hoodie' - to say kids in hoodies need a hug, not a firm hand or being dealt with!! Needless to say, it wasn't a great success.
I wish every criminal in San Francisco would simply do all their "shopping" at the politician's houses. How long do you think it would take for them to drop the hammer on the criminals if they were the ones getting robbed, assaulted and murdered? It's sickening that they let this happen and protect the criminals doing it, until it begins to infest their community.
It's not even your typical ''criminals'' though. This would incentivize anybody to not pay for their items if they know they won't be prosecuted for it. It's like they're encouraging bad behavior even with citizens who would normally pay for their items.
@@mikesch7672 No, not when it comes to theft. There is a difference between an individual who goes out with a gun and robs a pharmacy, the people in stores stuffing bags filled with items, and then those people who might be tempted to snag a candy bar or an extra makeup item. I could very well picture your ordinary college student taking advantage of this and scoring a few modest items. You are severely overestimating a person's ability to be moral when you remove law and order. I mean just look at these CEO and White-collar guys.
Exactly, they're just posturing. They don't care about the public anymore, they just want to get their cut of the money envelopes being passed around among the crime families of politics. Just ask Hunter Rembrandt Biden.
California is a HUGE state. The distance from border to border is the same as the distance from Miami to New York. Do you really think that San Francisco is representative of all California? The ignorance of your comment is frightening.
Punish them by taking away any government assistance and stimulus checks. Next offense then cut off a finger. Third strike cut off a hand. That will end the crime wave.
They can literally rob up to $950 and absolutely nothing can be done to them, and if you dare protect yourself and your property YOU will be punished. Everything is upside down in this insane state.
California is huge! I’m amazed at the ignorance of comments such as yours. This is happening in PARTS of San Francisco and PARTS of Los Angeles. It is NOT happening in the rest of the state. If you live in those parts, you should consider moving.
@@ErikaLaGrande I am. I live in L.A and some bum broke into my car even though I had nothing inside it. The glass window was a rare part and cost me $900 to replace. I had everything recorded on camera, cops came by and said nothing they can do. The bum was still on the street when they arrived. They said if he did more than $950 in damage they could maybe arrest him but it wouldn't even be worth the trouble since he won't be prosecuted. And yes, I've been trying to move for the past couple years but that takes money and I have almost none so I'm trapped in this hell on earth.
There will soon be a number of Afghan translators coming into the country who are probably trained in firearms and used to riot conditions. Maybe they could help protect the stores, but they would probably feel safer in Afghanistan
@Major Probelms AOC on the looting: "They feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-Queens) said last week on a virtual town hall for constituents....
I have been a liberal all my life but I can see how fringe ideas are getting broad traction. "Defund the police" is one of the stupidest things ever and the idea that nobody can have an opinion about things they haven't personally experienced is the antithesis of logic. There's no way I'd go to the other side though. They're living in their own horrific fantasy land and are currently an existential risk to the continued existence of this republic. I blame the internet for illuminating and exploiting the fact that most of us are just idiots. The normal people are becoming an endangered species.

“We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes," the DA, Chesa Boudin Boudin. “…lack of prosecution has effectively spawned a criminal tourism industry.”. and we all suffer in many ways.
"We will not prosecute cases involving quality of life crimes," WTH is he talking about? Since when did stealing from the stores become an extension of quality of life CRIMES?! Stealing is stealing period!
@@susankiki9710 I think they were referring to crimes like a single mother stealing diapers for her children and stuff like that. Unfortunately, while they have managed to protect those types of people they have also openly incentivized stealing and thefts.
I live California. I never voted for that disaster proposition. I knew it would lead to this chaos. What idiots who vote for that garbage do not seem to realize is that stores have to raise their prices in order to absorb these losses or close their businesses.
@nasty piglousy right lol. SF residents tell their friends "I voted for this super liberal person who does nothing" then stick their head up their ass and take a deep whiff mmmmmmmm im so liberal

That's whats funny about this whole "DA getting involved" story. People walking out of drug stores in front of police with garbage bags filled with loot? This news story would have been a late night comedy skit 25 or so years ago.
In Kansas Looters were warned that they would be shot on site during the aftermath of a tornado in the 1960’s. If I owned a shop, I would post a sign and carry a sidearm.
S.F. doesnt care about the average person or business. They do care about getting tax dollars though. If enough business' move out, there goes the tax base. Then they'll care.
Yeah they wont hurt one second of a single day. I pay $1,500 for my truck each year for registration. REGISTRATION!!!! Everyone i know pays over $300 a year in registration through the DMV. Not to mention the gas tax, or every god damn check i have paid for self employment.

So thoughtful of CBS to protect the professional serial shoplifter's identity by not showing his face - that's a big help for store owners - thanks, CBS, Dims and SJWs!
Give this shoplifting a little more time and there won't be any businesses in SF. I just read target is closing their stores at 6 PM, next you will hear them closing their stores permanently.
I am a black female, and that is Not reparations.. That is theft... You can't get revenge from something that someone else did ... By attacking someone that had nothing to do with the wrong committed against you.. If that is the case why do any investigation after crimes.. I will just choose another member of your family to sue, if I can't find you.. or you die before I get justice. But I'm gonna get mine.. It is time to hold all people responsible for their action... Adults are responsible for their actions... And parents are financially responsible for their minors actions.. This madness would end instantly.
Or, here’s a crazy idea: allow people to defend their own property. Someone walking out with stuff they didn’t pay for can be brought down, whether it’s a taser, pepper spray, or…*gasp* the firearms that are allowed in something like 2/3 of the states that don’t have this trouble (not a coincidence).
@@dizzywow ok, try this: leave your door open. Make sure the fact that thefts will not be prosecuted is well-known. When people come into your space, ask them nicely not to take anything. What if they take stuff anyway? What if they keep doing it? Are you ethically obliged to let them take all your property? Over and over? Sure, you try to talk, sure you try pepper spray first. Are you saying a person should just submit to having their place of business raided, as SF seems to believe? If you allow that a person does not have ro submit to this, at some point, it will come down to decisive force, shooting. (I even mentioned a spectrum of force in my original answer). If you think the businesses should be left wide open like this, have the courage to back your convictions by posting your address (don't forget to unlock your door)... Didn't think so.

I work in a store and loss prevention rarely does anything. The corporation that I work for says "let the manager know" and they just watch them walk put because it is policy. I work my ass to the bone 5 days a week to watch someone steal. Not only are theives increasing the prices of goods but it is such a slap to morale.
Time to hire some new LP folks. You have to be proactive when working LP. I worked closely with the local PD theft detectives and had them on speed dial.
If you want to go to a brick and mortar location to buy something, stores like CVS and Walgreens will install plexiglass barriers, like the banks and gas stations did many years ago, and you'll need to place your order which will be brought to the counter, once paid for you can take your merchandise. Online ordering, with delivery service, will be 90% of consumer activity in the cities governed by the Democrats.
This is why Amazon and other on-line retailers are succeeding. They have almost no shoplifting, only a few bad employees, now it is the porch pirates you have to shoot.
Why does it feel like San Francisco is being taken over by homeless and criminals? I assume there are still good parts left. We can blame anything and everything, but if nothing is going to be done, it will eventually turn into a horrible place to live. Tourism that it thrives on and the overpriced real estate will diminish and SF will be like the bad part of detroit. (sorry, detroit)
Here is a thought: because it is being taken over by homeless and criminals. CA released 70k inmates, some of which committed crimes that should have landed them for life in prison. The bleeding heart liberals says respect homeless rights while simultaneously saying they can not make decisions for themselves so they need government handouts. They can not be any more duplicitous!
Already? The sad part is San Francisco is all that and has been so for more than a decade. The liberals that live there have been high sniffing their own farts for so long it's normalized. There are vast chunks of the US where homelessness as a life style, hard drugs, and crime are not tolerated.
This has been going on for over 10 years. My buddy worked at Costco in San Francisco and the police wouldn’t prosecute shoplifters. You reap what you sow…
Yeah, by arresting them and letting them go. They won’t do anything anyway though. $900 is the limit for a misdemeanor and you can’t touch them to stop them.
Hold the California State legislature accountable for passing Penal Code 459.5 PC. This statute that makes shoplifting a misdemeanor offense in California. This section defines shoplifting as entering an open business with the intent to steal merchandise worth $950 or less. The crime is punishable by probation, fines, restitution, and up to 6 months in jail Once a criminal walks out of a store there is little a business can do.
Good luck. People like mayor Lori Lightfoot think AR-15 rifles are responsible for her city's handgun violence. Their solution is to ban scary assault rifles.
That's when the district attorney will prosecute the store owners on the grounds "he was just stealing $900 worth of stuff it's not worth a human life" crap and you will go to jail for 20 years. But went Home Depot sits down with the city council and says we will leave along with it 350 jobs unless this prime spree stops the city pays an off-duty police officer $100 an hour for security at home Depot. Our sense of justice is warped but once corporations get involved city council starts listing and sit up in the chair. A Mom and Pop doesn't have a chance.
@@oscarnn7278 I guess you didn’t see that they’re targeting smaller family owned stores too huh…smh. And you don’t understand that when they decide to close the stores, guess who it hurts the most.
Oh they can do it just like they did "drug dealers", organized crime charges added on. So the entire group is charged with the crimes of the entire group. It can go from local to federal theft really quickly.
Park a "dummy cruiser" on the lot, and have a patrol cruiser pop in there about once an hour. Have the officer/officers go into the store everytime they do a visit. Big deterrent.
So the District Attorney vows to crack down on crime. Whew! I'm so relieved. We all know that this DA never lies, and he will wipe out crime in his City. Yesiree Bob!!!
