That part where he does that unusual throat sound has been mistakenly called yodeling by some. My mother was a yodeler and uses a different technique using throat and tongue much differently. Some have called it "trilling" and there are other terms used. Is a tribal sound used in singing in Mongolia, Western Kazakhstan and some other Muslim countries traditional songs.

He does these really pure, beautiful acoustic covers and originals on his channel. Great singer and guitarist. One of the famous cover songs might be worthwhile. Another really unusual performance/video, is Geoff Castellucci's cover of Blackbird (The Beatles). He is the leader of the popular acapella group Voice Play, but this is solo. Suggestion for another artist with ties to Dimash: Lara Fabian. She is one of Dimash's great inspirations and childhood idols. He adores her for her passionate and emotional singing and he is trying to achieve that level. So, if you want to know where the passion in his performances comes from, check her out. I would suggest her song Je Suis Malade (in French, but there are versions with English subtitles, the lyrics are meaningful). Dimash has performed one of Lara's songs at the Singer show, Adagio. When she got to listen to it, she was amazed and posted it on her Facebook page. Dimash é incrível mesmo. Acho que você também vai gostar de Hua Chenyu. Ele também participou do the Singer, mas não no mesmo ano que o Dimash. Depois que ouvi Dimash, achei que não fosse querer ouvir mais nenhum outro, mas Hua Chenyu surpreende tanto quanto Dimash. Talentoso, perfeccionista, super presença de palco, inovador.
