"And when my love for life is running dry, you come and pour yourself on me." How the beauty of this poetry touched your heart was the best part of this video.
THIS is ANOTHER rabbit-hole to go down! That whole era is great. Chicago, Three Dog Night, Carol King, Pink Floyd, Foghat, Todd Rundgren, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones. THANK YOU AGAIN! You two are wonderful and I enjoy watching you when I can take a break! Loved this one! 😊
Bread... So many beautiful love ballads, so little time. These guys had cornered the market on the genre in the early and mid-70s. Huge hits, one right after the other. Check out "I Want to Make it With You" and "Diary" by them.
I grew up listening to the soft rock music of Bread in the 70's & had their albums. Love David Gates voice. He has one of the most soothing & mellow voices. They had so many hits such as "Make It With You", "Everything I Own", "Baby I'm-a Want You", "Diary", "Lost Without Your Love", "It Don't Matter To Me", "The Guitar Man", "Sweet Surrender", "Aubrey" etc. In 1978, Gates enjoyed success as a solo artist with the hit singles "Goodbye Girl" (from the movie The Goodbye Girl) & "Took The Last Train".
Back in the 70s, my friends and I were all rock and roll fans, listening to Styx, Kansas, Foreigner and such but most of us also had, "The Best of Bread" as our secret soft rock fix. Every song on the album is amazing. "Everything I Own" sounds like a love song but is actually a tribute to David Gates' father. "Guitar Man", "Diary", "Aubrey", and "Baby, I'm A Want You" should all be on your cue list.
You need to hear their songs 'Guitar Man', 'Lost without your Love', 'Everything I Own' and 'It Don't Matter to Me'...all just as powerful as this song was. You'll both love them, trust me! 😊
Your almost tearful happy reaction to this 1971 song reminded me of your reactions to some of Simon and Garfunkel's songs. Like you mentioned, Bread had several hits back in the seventies. I think maybe the next one you should react to should be "Everything I Own" from 1972.
Bread had so many beautiful ballad type songs. I think I discovered them in 1973 or so when I was 16. Everything I own was my favorite song by them but the album "Best of Bread" didn't have a bad song in it. Memories galore.....
Bread’s David Gates was literally a song writing genius who eventually went from writing songs for others to writing them for himself. This song is a masterpiece, along with many other Bread songs.
"If a picture paints a thousand words then why can't I paint you?" Wonderful reaction. I've heard it many times and I still have the same reaction as you do. Harmonic, melodic, and lyrics that move you to tears.
An absolutely perfect song and group for you two. You were both draw into the feel and sentiment, individually and together. It's heartwarming to witness.
Yeah these guys have a bunch of great songs! All the ones mentioned in the comments already are perfect... I don't think you can go wrong... love you guys and your reactions!!! ❤❤❤
Well, I remember when this song was "new". I'm sitting here with tears watching your reactions. My best to you two! I hope you are well. Do listen to more Bread. You will love every song. Every one.
I've just got to tell you two. It just warms my heart watching these songs I grew up on and how I had the same exact feelings as a teenager. Bless you.
Growing up un the 70's I had two favorite bands with music that touches your heart and soul, Bread was one and the others the Carpenters. The Carpenters lead singer Karen had the voice of an angel and sang with heart felt emotion. I don't think you have reacted to any of their music but if you do your soul will be touched.
David Gates -- outstanding guitarist, beautiful vocalist, and great writer of love songs. He wrote and sang a string of hits for Bread, and every one was beautiful.
The theme of most of Bread's songs is about love lost, love won, and love unrequited. Some great Bread songs: "Diary", "Everything I Own" one of the saddest songs there is after "Vincent" by Don McLean In my opinion, "Aubrey", "Guitar Man", "It Don't Matter To Me", "Make It With You", and "Baby I'm a Want You".
Yea! Bread is awesome every song is great so keep going. You have the best reactions. I know every song ,born in 1962 I grew up with this beautiful music. Thanks ❤️ 😊
I grew up in such a great time for music, the 70s are special and Bread is just one band that put out such lovely songs. I'm enjoying the content you are reacting to. Great reaction!
They had a lot of beautiful songs. From a time when we valued beauty, and love. Today, everything seems pretty ugly, but there was a time when that was not so.
Bread is a band that can easily make you weep tears like rain. David Gates voice is the epitome of heartfelt emotion that can do that with ease. Love your reactions. You are like my friend who you don’t know but I’m here and I enjoy your company.
I’m 64 years old, grew up as more Buffay unsophisticated, American rock and roller. But when I was a kid, when my sister and my young aunt used to play records by bread my way, always stop and listen what I knew great music.
Thank you, thank you for listening to this song! Growing up in the '70s, I loved Bread. I didn't know much about music, really, but I knew beauty when I heard it.
You both are going to love this. A group that you could pull five or six wonderful wonderful songs from very talented, songwriters and acoustic guitar players. Of course, singers as well.
Another beautiful reaction from you two to another beautiful song so many of us had the honor to enjoy back in the day. Thank you. You two are so great to watch with your reactions.
I remember this from when I was in primary school In Australia, I still remember all of the lyrics. Such a beautiful song!! I love watching you two, you are such a lovely couple and your reactions so genuine. Have been subbed to you from the first time I watched you. 🙂
🎵🎵I saw Bread in concert back in 1977 while stationed in Hawaii with the U.S. Army. My favorite by them is called 'Everything I own". He wrote the song soon after his father died. To this day it still brings tears to my eyes. I recommend you give it a try. Love your channel! 🎵🎵
Bread is one of my favorites I grew up with in the early 70s. I was like 12 yrs. old and fell in love with their songs. Thanks for the reaction. Always on point ❤
Bread has some many songs that just touch your soul. I encourage you to listen to the songs, "Diary" and "Aubrey". They will move you to the core. I was lucky enough to see Bread when the reunited in the 90's.
Great reaction!!!! I am hoping that you will go down their rabbit hole because they have many more hits that will touch in the heart like this one:"Make It With You", "Everything I Own", "Baby I'm-a Want You", "Diary", "Lost Without Your Love", "It Don't Matter To Me", "The Guitar Man", "Sweet Surrender", "Aubrey" etc.
Beautiful song.... It's my dad and moms song from there teen years... I see Mom everyday pop ... She talks sometimes about being reunited with you one day in heaven...
They played this song on the MUPPETS SHOW and it was ASTOUNDING! Please watch it on your own if you don't want to do a public reaction! Love you guys!❤😊
David Gates is one of the all time great singer/songwriter/musicians of all time. I absolutely love this group. Their "Best Of Bread" album is awesome from beginning to the end. I hope you do more of this band. You won't be disappointed. Try "Diary"
