The loaf baked in the oven is longer where the bread machine one is taller. Try letting your bread for the oven do it's last rise in the oven with the light on and you might get more rise. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thanks for the tip! My oven has no light, isn’t that strange? It’s the only oven I’ve ever had without a light! I could still let it rise in the warm oven. I was pleased with both loaves. Thanks so much for watching!

I enjoyed this video...thanks for doing a comparison. I'm just waiting for my bread machine to arrive - I'm no longer making homemade bread in the oven (too time and energy demanding for me at the moment) and I'm hoping to get as good results as you from just throwing my ingredients into a machine 😁

I just took my loaf of bread out of the oven. I am 74 years old and I got a used bread maker for Christmas. I have tried three other recipes and they did not turn out. My loafer bread looks beautiful just like yours and I sure hope it taste delicious just like you say yours does dinner is almost ready and the loaf of bread is almost cool, so I’m really hopeful. Thank you for your recipe.

Robyn, thanks so much for the recipe. I made this today and it is fantastic! I used 2 tsp of dry yeast because I use a yeast that comes in little envelopes and that was what was in it. The loaf came out almost like a cartoon like loaf. It is beautiful and delicious! Thanks for sharing 😀

The both look beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to making them both with your recipe in my cast iron loaf pan and in my Breville bread machine. THANKA AGAIN! 👌🏼. I wonder if the amount of yeast will make the difference in making a less risen bread in the bread machine. Hmmm…

Hello from Australia, I have tried this recipe with success. Have tried others and they did not work. Can you tell me I noticed you have a Bosch mixer and I would love to purchase one but cannot buy in Australia, but can buy online from the states, but my concern is that it will have a different power plug to Australian ? Do you know that is the case ?
@RobynOnTheFarm
@RobynOnTheFarm 2 месяца назад
Hi Denise all the way from Australia! Thanks so much for watching! It’s amazing to have someone like you watching from the other side of the globe! I am so happy you had success with my recipe! It really is a good one. I highly, highly recommend the Bosch mixer, but i do believe it would have a different plug. I have seen plug converters, and believe something like that would work for you, but I have no experience, and that is just a guess. Sorry to not be of more help. Thanks again for watching and commenting! I wish you luck with your mixer! It really does make bread making easier.

@@RobynOnTheFarm also I wanted to ask can that same recipes be used for individual bread rolls or do you have another recipe that will work? The bread I made I used in leaches plain flour even though it looked great and tasted ok so I have taken your advice from other videos and purchased bread flour today, so I’m hoping it will improve it in my next loaf

time for making properly good bread is 48 hours handmade version and temperature below 35 c above this temperature dough will be like a stone. its take 12 hours for handmade bread to grow then need be "proofed" mean need be mixed again gently and lukewarm water need be added ...bread machine replace all this traditional knowledge with moisture keeping, kneading and turning as well keeping yeast in perfect and moist temperature for tall and evenly mixed and moist bread. after backing put bread in cotton or brushed cotton, best is 90%linnen, clothe and wrap them loosely. i put mine in backing trays but cold ones and this wrap in big fluffy super-size towel. if your bread looks very crusty and you do not like too dry surface just sprinkle a bit of mist water and wrap them up for 2-3 hours, after this place them in wooden or aluminium container with small went, if you use wooden container remember to do not bleach them - yeast do not like them, BUT YOU MUST CLEAN WOODEN STORAGES OFTEN AND DRY THEM WELL. if you do not keep them in tip top condition your bread will be mouldy fast and you will have serious poisoning, DO NOT EAT FRESH AND WARM BREAD OUT OF OVEN OR BREADMAKER!!! YEAST ARE CULTURES OF FUNUS WHAT IN WARM BREAD WITH ACIDES IN TYOUR STOMACH CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILNESSES. TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS TO UK FROM ANY OTHER PART OF THE WORLD ...AVOIDE TOAST BREAD OR WHITE BREAT AND BE VERY PICKY ON BROWN BREAD TOO IN SHOPS...UK BREAD CONTAINE LOT OF ADDITIVE INCLUDING HORMONS DISRUPTORS AS WELL EMULGATORS SO YOU WILL LAND IN EMERGENCY ROOM WITH TORTIONS AND LOOK LIKE POISSONING BUT BLOODWORK WILL LOOK FINE SO THEY WILL LEAVE YOU NOT ATTENDED PROPERLY FOR MANY HOURS. IF YOU EVER IN ON LINE RECEIPIES FIND WORD"MILK"AS ADD ON TO BREAD - THAT MEAN NOT A MILK MILK BUT A LUCKWARM WATTER WITH STARTER OF YEAST- IF YOU MAKE YOUR OWN YEAST FROM SCRATCH THIS WILL BE YOUR 7 DAYS YEAST WITH LUCKWARM WATER. YOU DO NOT ADD MILK TO BREAD MAKING AS ITS SLOWING DOWN GROTH OF YEAST AND WATER CANNOT BE HOTTER THAN 32-25 C FOR DOUGHT TO GROW TALL . HOPE THIS HELP FOR SOME TO BE MORE EFICIENT IN PROCESS AND STOP DESAPIONTMENT IN SIZE AND STOP COMPAIRING WITHOUT RESPONCE WHY. START MAKING DOUGHT AROUND 12/00 BCS IF YOU NEED KNEED IT 2 TIMES LAST KNEED WILL BE 24.00 THEN LAST PROOFING BEFORE 5AM -6AM AND TEMPERATURE IN ROM THEN RAISING . YEST ALSO LIKE UV LIGHT AKA SUN SO BACKING BETTER WHEN TAKEN OUT OF OVEN COOLING ACCORDING TO ROOMS TEMPERATURE SO NO NEED EXTRA TOOLS TO KEEP IT FRESH. IN UK ROOMS GETTING VERY COLD IN WINTER SO ITS HARD DURING NIGHTS TO KEEP THEM RAISING WELL ..THIS IS WHY BREAD MAKERS ARE VERY POPULAR HERE.

You say to use hot water… I thought hot water killed yeast.🤔 if it is supposed to be hot, what temperature? What is too hot?
@RobynOnTheFarm
@RobynOnTheFarm 4 месяца назад
Thanks for the question Robin! You want your water to be about 105-115 degrees. Hot water does kill yeast, but I’ve heard that temperature is around 140 degrees. You definitely want it warm enough to help activate your yeast. Warm/hot bathtub water type temperature seems perfect to me. I usually just turn my tap all the way to hot and let it run a minute and it works great! Thanks again for watching and for the question to help with any confusion!
