Different things can cause it. In my case it turned out to be oxalate toxicity. Oxalates are in plants and they’re normally broken down by a helpful bacteria in the gut. Unfortunately I had taken so many antibiotics that it got rid of that bacteria, which allowed the oxalates to form crystals that caused urinary pain. Some people didn’t take antibiotics but are unknowingly ingesting way too many foods high in oxalates. It is worth looking into.

The cause is actually well known now. It’s not the cause for everybody but the cause is pelvic floor dysfunction for the vast majority. Look up Nicole Cozean, pelvic sanity.

That doesn't make sense to be true for me and I have suffered with this for 34 years. So it's definitely not well known for a cause. I don't care what Doctor you're talkin about said what just like this doctor is lying about things to do to help it. Bunch of BS

I don't know if I have this I had my prostate checked by my doctor clear and multiple urine tests nothing showed, however sometimes I have pain during urination and it lingers sometimes after urination drinking lots of water and filling my bladder seems to help but I don't know what's causing my issue?

I suffer with this condition and the past 2 years I was able to control it with diet, no citrus. Also de Aminoacid l-ARGININE help me a lot.

I can help. I found something that helps. Since nobody could help me i tok it upon myself to find something, and i researched and came across nac( n- acetyl cysteine) . Thay use this in hospitsl to treat paracetamol poisoning and many other things. I read some studies on nac on bladder, i just bought it cous i had nothing to loose trying, this pain is unbearable and i could not leave my house. It went from unbearable to bearabe in couple weeks, and then it went all the way . But it came back a month ago and i had no more nac left so i ordered 1 kg from bulksupplements in amerika( im norwegian). Its now been one month where i have talken one capluse( i fill them myself) in the morning, first days was more pain but then it got better and better and now i have no pain. Sp im shure this is it. Im really happy to share this and i want to spread the word all over internet.❤ 😊

You should have just stopped with "I am sorry to hear that." Those of us suffering with refractory IC live in a hell that no one could ever understand. @@DrAndreaFurlan
