Bro, I am sooo glad you have locks. This is my issue and as my locks have grown out, I have gone from a 3x to a 5x helmet. Yes my head is huge. Thanks for the video.
I've been doing this for years and recently purchased Arai Signet-X helmet. I used a #3 soccer ball for the cheek pads and a #4 soccer ball for the main part of the helmet. Make sure that you do a little at a time as to not over do the breaking in period. You can't undo what you did if you take it too far. This is a great way to break in a new helmet. Both soccer balls were bought from Target for about $16 and saved me hours and hours of pain and suffering. Great video!
oh this is PERFECT!!! Thanks so much for the tip. I'm in my first season of riding and only just started doing longer rides and at highway speeds and my helmet (also and LS2) has been giving me some grief after the 45min mark or so. Will definitely be giving this a shot. Thanks again :)
i pray for the day we get fully custom helmets where they 3d scan your head and the helmet pops out.. until then i guess we have to find out own way? I'm on my way to get a pump now, lol
This is my 46th year of riding and wearing helmets. Just be careful with that, you don't want to pre-crush the protective Styrofoam liner. When choosing helmets, go with the fit first, no matter the brand, then choose the graphics. Early on, helmet fit used to really suck. Bell Helmets were round, but most human skulls aren't shaped like Charlie Brown skulls. It would fit too tight on the front and back, and too loose on the sides. Now the helmet companies are much more in tune to the ergonomics. I had an LS2 for several years, it was one of those "convertible" helmets, fit was ok, but noisy. This time I went the Shoei Neotec II. It seemed a little snug at first, so I worried about it, but it has turned out just fine, even though I'll ride alllllll day, and sometimes into the night. Ride safe, my friend.
Ha ha , this actually works, I bought a shoei gt air, a little to snug but shoved a size 4 football in and gradually inflated it bit by bit, left it for a couple of hours, tried it on and there was clearly a marked improvement, did the same again and left it overnight,been great since then, thanks 👍
