Seriously I’ve rewatched the whole show 15+ times and watched every big analysis channel but you’ve by far got the most unnoticed connections I’ve seen. I’m blown away
Funny thing about Skinny Pete and Badger talking about video games in this episode, they talk about Resident Evil 4 which means RE exists in the BB universe, but in Resident Evil Vendetta, they talk about Breaking Bad, which means BB exists in the RE universe. Safe to say, by association, Breaking Bad exists in Breaking Bad 🤯
@@davidci Oh, that’s a good detail! And not the only evidence of Breaking Bad in Breaking Bad. The Schraders own some Breaking Bad DVDs, which we see in Season 5!
A lot of people have horrible bosses but I can't imagine anyone having no concern for an employee who collapsed and was hauled off in an ambulance from a business that they own.
@@betterwatchtv how does the Dean Norris Cameo work? Do you need a business license? How much does it cost? Is it more expensive to be able to put the video on RU-vid video with ads?
@@pjaxy You just pay someone to say whatever. Celebrities, characters, RU-vidrs. I remember someone payed $300 just to ask "Elmo" (sesame Street) for advice once.
3:45 in the full dialogue, she says "If you're not willing to pull the trigger on this," which is a double entendre for Walt, waving a gun around, intending on pulling the trigger on Gus, rather than "call Goodman" (for the guy that can make them disappear)
Thanks!! I was going to explain the perks for the first time anyway since I got that question about older comments, and the perfect opportunity presented itself!
Ome thing to point out is this also a reverse influnce when skinny pete and badger are talked into it by jesse is reflective of how jesse doesnt wanna use in episode 2 and is talked into it by skinny pete and combo
I always really liked the arms dealer Walt buys the gun from. He has a very comforting, "southern grandpa" vibe if that makes sense, like I can picture him teaching his grandson to ride a bike, but not immediately helping him if he falls as sort of a "you have to go through the downs to experience the ups" method of teaching lessons. Not quite tough love, but just a very honest and motivating mentor figure that emphasizes hard work. I'm from Texas so I may be drawing a little bias here lol
the dB level at 1:36 is probably dBFS "Decibels relative to full scale", which shows how much quiter or louder the heard signal is in comparison to the signal coming from the source media. Normally you'd see something between -50dBFS and -10dBFS, but it being at plus 25dB means Jesse is cranking it past healthy levels of loudness
Yeah I was confused at first when my new Yamaha receiver measured volume in reference level, so -26dB would be plenty loud as it’s getting close to actual reference level which is what speakers are meant to be tested at
I love that Dean interpreted the question as “was that Hank Schrader undercover” and not “was that you (dean norris) playing another character” LOL! Amazing video as always!
Indeed, there are lots of those callbacks in Gliding Over All, and I’m ready, thanks! (It turns out I covered them in my “Season 5a title meanings” video! 😊)
Jim Beaver also appeared in Young Sheldon, a show that also has Rex Linn (Kevin Wachtell) and Ed Begley Jr (Clifford Main), and a one episode appearance from Barry Corbin (Everett Acker).
When i found this channel a few months ago at first glance i was expecting some content farm type content, but these videos have slowly became my way of rewatching the show, watch an episode a week then catch these videos afterwards, glad i gave this channel a chance
glad that you could get a cameo for hank! the quality of the show goes up each episode. cant wait for the next one ❤ also fun fact: the reason cod zombies exist is because element 115. prolonged exposure turns you into one of them. they want to eat you because the person controlling them hates you. thought id drop some knowledge of my own since its mentioned in the video :)
This video really brightened up my day. Thank you 😊 you. I got an uncut pizza 🍕 recently and thought of this episode. This is the beginning of Walt Trying to exert power over Gus and his workers but fails.
That's my grandpa in the thumbnail! He was an extra for a few scenes in the show. It's so crazy and surreal to randomly see his face while going through youtube.
@betterwatchtv 100% serious. His name was Robert Ingram. He was an extra in one of the montages in season 2 (i think) where Jesse is dealing before getting robbed.
I just watched the episode today and I think in the scene where a car is going through a car wash right before Skyler goes in to try to buy it from Bogdan, the scene it is sped up by the way the car and people move in the background. Just another cool detail I found. Also, by the way, I just recently found your channel and I've watched all of your Hidden Details videos on Breaking Bad I think they're great! Keep up the great work! 👍❤❤
Just wow. The keep getting better the farther we get into the series! Love seeing Dean saying Better Watch TV, and finding out how they were able to get Walter an extra pounding! Haha, great video as always.
Bro, there is no way I missed a channel shoutout from Hank himself by one video. But, I got one from mr. Better Watch TV himself, so I'm even more honored!
🙏 I know, there's no good way to do this! 😢 I wish I could have him read all ~160 names! (I was also terrified of someone new joining in the ~24 hours before sending him the script and publishing the video!) Thanks for your continued support!
I've watched every one of your Breaking Bad videos so far (I look forward to them every week!) and I just wanted to comment say how well done they are! You put a lot of effort into these and I would love to see you cover Better Call Saul as well!
2:05 Don't know if it's even relevant to mention, but did you notice how he said "booyah" just like Tuco did when he was first introduced to their meth?
The loudness rating of 26 dB could also mean 26 dB quieter than maximum loudness without distortion. In that case, it would certainly be audible outside
Sometimes I forgot Mike was made just to be a one time character because bob couldn’t play as Saul.funny how a one time characters became maybe one of the best characters in breaking bad and better call Saul. Bravo Vince 🎉
It’s always a mystery how many there will end up being! I could always point out tons of minor continuity errors, but I don’t think that ends up being very interesting!
when skinny pete snorts the drugs he says the same thing as tuco when he snorted the meth for the first time. tuco said buia and skinny pete says the same
Apparently they were cell mates, right? That was how Jesse was introduced to Tuco, so it would make sense if Skinny Pete has some resembling characteristics of Tuco
6:03 something you dont really talk on in these videos is Hank and Marie's relationship. I think this scene is a great showcase for how they're feeling currently. Hank having a broken ego and a broken body he feels ashamed when his wife looks at him cause he's not the man she married. He distances himself from her and is so happy and joyous and kinda mean to her like a high school clique when the therapist is around because dudes helping him walk and around him he doesn't feel as broken because when he's around him he's walking and standing. Marie trying her best to be supportive is struggling and ends up having her own mental breakdown in the form of relapsing on stealing things. She's trying to be supportive of him because she does still see the man she married and a hero even more but she's having to endure his shunning while also dealing with the bills of everything and the stress of that. Leading her to eventually snap and start making up lives where she can finally get some form of escape from feeling so alone in the made up families and stories she tells. While also giving her an in she wouldn't be making such detailed stories unless she was living in them to escape.
@@betterwatchtv you should do a side video where you go back over the details and their relationship like ya have with Skylar's and Walt's. I feel Hank and Marie get looked over quite a bit. but they're a great parallel to Walt and sky
1:33 that's not how decibels on amplifiers work at all. It's not decibels of sound (the amplifier can't know that, since different speakers will produce different amounts of sound for a given signal) but rather decibels of signal amplification. It's using the same logarithmic scale as the audio decibel one, but instead of the baseline being the lower limit of human hearing, it is rather the input signal. Every twenty decibels is a tenfold increase of voltage and every ten decibels is a tenfold increase in power. Thus 26 dB on an amplifier means that the output signal is over 10 times the voltage of the input signal, and over 100 times the power.
(I've decided I'm also gonna give my opinions on the credit themes in these episodes) At least strictly within the bounds of season 4 credit themes, and as far the episodes you've covered so far, I'd personally rank this episode's credits theme under Box Cutter's. Like I said at the video for that episode, Box Cutter's theme really grew on me. Thirty-Eight Snub's is pretty cool, but I like Box Cutter's better.
3:39 im not sure which episode but im sure this is the one, in season 1 breakfast demon ask skyler for a cereal and she buys it but walt jr wanted a crispy one and in this episode they actually used the crispy version of the cereal
I don’t think so! A commenter has claimed it’s their grandpa, and he does match an extra we get a better look at in S2! I’ve been meaning to make a short that gives this new info!
