It is ironic when Hank tells his (soon-to-be-former) boss that they couldn't get past the password protection on Fring's laptop, meaning that the whole magnet caper was for naught -- but if they hadn't wrecked the evidence room it is unlikely that anyone would have found Gus' Swiss Bank acc't numbers -- Kaylie's money would still be there and Lydia wouldn't have to worry about killing the 11 "loose end" guys in prison.

Couple of things. Madrigal was in business with Gus. Hank alluded to it a few times, but a lot of items were purchased for the lab through them. And Walt put that fake cigarette in the house so he could assure Jesse he didn’t accidentally poison Brock. Jesse never wants to hurt anyone in this show.
@a-train69420

Not exactly. Jesse already knows that he didn't poison Brock bc the doctors concluded it wasn't ricin. Walt had Saul steal the cigarette in order to frame Gus for Brock's poisoning, but then had to convince Jesse that he simply lost it on his own to cover his own ass.

Magnets can destroy memory on computers if hovered above them. Jesse actually said something smart.
@LilRedRasta
@LilRedRasta Год назад
@@crairdin That's not entirely true. They can still be wiped out. It depends on how strong the magnet is. Other components of an SSD, such as the controller and capacitors, can be affected by strong magnetic fields. If an SSD is exposed to a strong enough magnetic field, it can cause damage to the controller, which is responsible for managing the storage and retrieval of data. This can result in data corruption, loss of data, or even complete failure of the SSD. Sufficiently strong, changing magnetic fields can damage any electronic equipment, including flash memory devices. This is due to electromagnetic induction producing electrical currents inside the circuitry that are strong enough to damage the hardware. The industrial strength magnet they used is powerful enough to do that. However, they would have needed access to the room to pull their plan off.

@MLennholm

You're getting scenes mixed up. The only time Walt sees Andrea and Brock at Jesse's house in season 4 was when they were playing video games, Walt showed up unwelcome and got thrown out by Jesse and then kidnapped by Tyrus. This happened before he came up with the plan to poison Brock. The scene where he's left alone with Brock happens in S05E03, i.e. after the whole poisoning story, and Brock is playing a PSP. The scene where Brock is eating cereal while Walt visits happens late in season 5. It was also not Saul doing it because Jesse had started hanging out with Andrea again at this point so Saul was no longer delivering anything to them. The writers have stated that Walt snuck a poisoned juice box into Brock's lunchbox at school. This happened during the day where we don't get to see what Walt is up to from the morning he's sitting by his pool spinning the gun until the evening when he's confronted by Jesse.

41:13: It was Saul's henchman Huell Babano (big black dude), that pickpocketed Jesse's cigarettes while patting him down before allowing him to see Saul. Jesse was douped into a false-flag emergency that made him go see Saul in the first place, specifically so Huell could pick-pocket Jesse. Huell's expertise as a pick-pocket is "ret-conned" and highlighted in the prequel spinoff Better Call Saul.

@Asia & BJ: The woman w the tea - also the woman Mike threatened at the end of Ep2 - that is Lydia Rodarte-Quayle. She is a part of Madrigal, a parent company of Los Pollos, and has been a big part of Gus’ operation by supply chain (chemicals, methylamine in particular). Lydia is a co-conspirator and is fearful that one of those 11 names will give her to the feds/DEA. She was hoping Mike would handle it, but he wouldn’t. remember a long time ago they established that the big black guy working for Saul is a real slick pickpocket. so he changed out jesse's cigarette pack on that day that Walter poisoned Brock. then Walter denied doing that and like you said, put the cigarette back in the roomba, but he saved the real poison for later in case he needs it. as for how Brock was poisoned they never show it but Jesse makes that accusation on the day it happened, saying Walter was there that day and Brock was there and then Brock got sick. so you can just assume he did it just like Jesse first thought, and then Walter planned that out and pointed Jesse back at Gus.

FYI: While it's far to complicated to go into here (and more than a little over my head), data is stored magnetically on a computer's hard drive. A strong magnet will complete erase a computer's hard drive. Magnets are also used to erase audio and video tape which also use magnetic tape. If you manually erase files on a computer's hard drive, they can conceivable be recovered. However, with a strong magnet like in "Breaking Bad," there is simply nothing there to recover.

How Walt poisoned Brock (from ScreenRant): Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan provided more details regarding Walt's ploy at San Diego Comic-Con in 2013. The writers of Breaking Bad referred to the incident as Walt becoming the "Evil Juice Box Man," imagining him injecting the poison into Brock's juice box. Off-camera, Walt had somehow planted the juice box in Brock's lunch at school, making sure only he came in contact with it.

Lol so Skyler is terrified of Walt because up to this point she had not considered Walt to be a killer. His killing Gus is what opens her eyes to the fact her husband is a murderer and that terrifies her because that is not the man she knew even with how bad things might have gotten between them. She's likely wondering if he's capable of killing her if she becomes an obstacle as well.

Its funny because to the viewer we have known walt to be a killer since season 1, & that experience shook walt up as expected. We seen him let jane die, Kill 2 more drug dealers with his car, sacrifice Gayle....& Skyler knew about none of those things @ least in detail.
@Kamenari37
@Kamenari37 Год назад
@blunt Yes and we see it go through a transition as well. The first time it is reactionary to save himself in the moment, and then again when he realizes Jessie's former partner is plotting to stab him with the broken plate.Its self defense, but then with Jane it turns. He let's her die out of convenience, likely not even considering it to be his fault and giving himself plenty of plausible deniability about why he couldn't personally call it in for his own sake. With the dealers you could say it is a bright spot where he actually does it to protect Jesse as an act of sacrifice, and then with Gus being an act of self preservation yet again. The thing is though every additional situation has come about due to his pride outweighed his sense inevitably putting him in the situation. Skyler likely knows him the best, and knows full well what he may be capable of given the new stakes with how he thinks.

Walter and Saul had Huell pickpocket the Ricin cig from Jesse, that way he would freak out and blame himself when Brock came down with a sudden poisoning, and the cigarette was missing from his pack. If that's what you're implying then it couldn't have happened that time because Walter still hadn't planned back then to poison Brock. Walter came up with that idea in the following episode where you see him turning a gun around on a table for several times until the gun pointed in the direction of the Lilly Of The Valley plant. Then something clicked in Walter's head
@DreamyWoIf
@DreamyWoIf Год назад
You know the scene with the gun spin that pointed towards the plant? He gave the flower to Brock AFTER that moment and thus considerably later than you said. You fucked up, Hamill.

The deal with the ricin cig was that Walt had Saul lift it from him, to make it look like Gus or his men were the ones that stole it and poisoned Brock. By the time he found out it wasn’t ricin, Gus was already dead.

It reminds me of the first episode of the series when Walt was in his classroom, asking his students’What is chemistry?’ His response was that he thought of it as ‘the study of change.’ And so we see the biggest change of all - Walt’s transformation to Heisenberg over the course of time. From a straight-laced square to lying, manipulative, murdering sociopath. It was probably in there all along but it’s amazing to witness his transformation.

Guarding the Special Sauce?" ^ Did you guys maybe miss this, or did you just not find it funny, to me this had me laughing hard. Hank's sarcasm shines through in most scenes but it's so subtle because he moves on swiftly haha. BRILLIANT reaction as always, thank you. I have these on DVD and BluRay but not watched in a couple of years and have forgotten little gem moments so it's great re-watching with you guys. Please do continue the story after Season 5 because Season 5 was split into two parts, like 1 season made of 2 short seasons. And then after that (and a break) you can start to watch Better Call Saul and find out alllllll about the origins of the characters, the planning and making of places, and have just as much a wonderful funny and dramatic and artistic time!

Asia, you may already know by now but Saul had his bodyguard pick-pocket the risin from Jessie so Jessie would temporarily think that Walt poisoned the kid. That got Jessie to over react and almost shoot Walt and then Walt could say it was Gus to get Jessie back on his side. The stolen cigarette was a diversion. Walt the used Lily of the Valley on the kid because he knew Jessie might suggest risin to the doctors when the kid was in the hospital. When it turns out it wasn't risin and it was Lily of the Valley, it really makes it look like Gus poisoned the kid, and it gets Jessie off the hook with the police. I didn't get it the first time through either and I'll bet most people didn't catch that on their first time watching B B.

Walter took the cig to blame the whole thing on Gus so that Jesse would hate him and get back on board with Walter. Remember before that they had the massive falling out and Gus was showing Jesse luv by giving him more responsibility? It was a desperate and calculated way to get Jesse back on his side to take out Gus.

There's a scene when Jessie comes to Sauls and Huell (Sauls big bodyguard) frisks Jessie before entering. This is when he takes the ricin cigarette. Walter then poisons the boy with his plant and Jessie freaks out when he finds his cigarette missing and tells the doctors that it might be ricin. He blames Walter at first as he is the only other person who could have known about the cig but Walter convinces him that it was Gus because he reminds jessie about the kid drug dealer that died from Gus's men. This gets Jessie to agree to kill Gus which is what Walter needed to get his opportunity to take out Gus. Also Walt makes the fake ricin cig that he puts in Jessies roomba to further convince Jessie that he had nothing to do with Brock getting sick and make Jessie think he simply lost the cig at his house.
