It seems a lot of people think this song is about suicide or dead in general. This song is actually about being deadly sick. Lying in bed for days while your health gets slowly worse and death creeps on you while everyone pretends you are going to make it but they have no way of knowing. But really, you want to believe them even if you must eventually face the fact you are most likely going to die very soon. Meanwhile, you can only try to hold on while you are so close from death you can call it a dance.

I will say this this is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. I will admit I’ve sinned quite a bit and I still have a few more dances with the devil to go. But I guess that’s what happens when you pretty much make a deal with the devil to keep someone you love alive.
