Honestly, I like this version of the song just as much as the original. The female vocals, while most frown upon them, add a new depth to the song that previously wasn't present.
Bro it feels like there is a greater and escalating desire with both vocals. It hits me harder because to me the way they are singing its life or death. And that comes from a HoH person. I'm lucky I heard this at full blast b4 my hearing took a shit
This version is trash. Not because of Valora, but because her style doesn't flow well with the style of Breaking Benjamin. Plus the original was already iconic enough. This isn't a case like "Cruise" where the combo of Florida Georgia Line and Nelly made the song better. It's a case where the combo ultimately drags down the song. But that's my opinion
@@RabbitNose idk about any of that but benjamin was in the hospital when they released this version, he didnt sign off on this. Thats more or less what broke them up
It's sad they broke up, but at the same time, I like this re-do. The original is amazing, and I love it to pieces. But I really like this version too. Expanding out, and trying new things, doesn't ruin something. It only takes a different spin on it.
I realize this was lost in all the drama, but if you consider that this was made as Master for Halo 2, adding female vocals reminds the listener of Cortana's efforts in helping Master Chief survive. I believe that might have been the point.
i know this isnt the original, but listening to it made me realize how little weight music today has, when this song kicks in you fucking know its there, it kicks the door in then says hello, but if say, imagine dragons or twenty one pilots comes on youre like, "oh hey, its them" 2000s rock had some ass behind it man and i miss when you could really feel the music, it creates an atmoshpere almost in my opinion, and it makes me really miss music from this point in time
@@imperialproductions3060Apparently they made this song without the lead singer's consent, without his approval, and Valora's voice completely overshadows him. Or something like that. So they kinda broke apart.
@@jahdielt.9160 wmmr.com/2011/08/26/video-for-controversial-breaking-benjamin-song-released/ Ben hated it since they touched his music without his permission. He is always the one who composes everything, and that set him off. It was the reason why they went on hiatus and had to replace the guitarist and bassist. They made the compilation album without Ben's knowledge.
@@XixiSplash okay. Ben is a perfectionist. The band was always about him. The reason why he hated it was the vocals removed the raw energy that the song had, which was his own intention when he made it.
idc what ppl think or what really happened between the band members. i love this version! it's an awesome song & adding female vocals makes better. it's also easier for me to sing along ;-)
I love the instrumentals of the original song the best but on vocals this one its fucking better than the original, Syd's voice is just fucking amazing, beautiful and melodic.
This song upset me for the longest because it was the reason they broke up, but i feel comfortable listening to it again after they got back together. Besides, i saw them live last weekend and they performed this song, ill admit i prefer it with valora.
No this isn't the reason they stopped, the guitar player that put this song out without permission was fired and they stopped for a long time because Ben was sick with a serious illness
Goulden Mummy this is? O.o how come whenever I search this it sounds different? Without the female singer. I only heard her once but the video got deleted and now this
I like the feeling this gives me when I'm working out and the female starts it's like a euphoria where I can relate to the pain and use that emotion to push myself a little harder
4am Curiosity Halo Reach was the last good Halo. Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach were the only good ones. Bungie knew what they were doing. 343 just ruined it so badly.
I wouldn't go so far as to say I prefer this version, and I know that this song led to my favorite band's ruin, but it really is not that bad. She has a nice voice, similar to Amy Lee's, and sometimes it isn't where it belongs but most of the time it fits well.
I like this version of Blow Me Away, bc Valora has such awesome harmony with Ben. Ben shouldn't have fired 2 of his band members for making this song. However, I understand that Mark and Aaron (I think it was them? Don't remember for sure) should have asked Ben for his permission to make it. He's the frontman of the band for a reason.
+Aaron Presley I personally don't like this version better... I don't know if this version has overpowering drums, or the fact that I don't like Valora's voice... Maybe Amy Lee would have been a better sound? eh, I don't know... Why did they have to be shitty and make this without the correct permissions? Not worth the break up, IMO.
I miss Breaking Benjamin greatly but in a way i blame half on Ben and the other half on Aaron and Mark for the band "breaking up". First, technically Mark and Aaron shouldn't have given/asked Valora to do it because it wouldn't have been fair to Chad and Ben. Secondly, Ben could have been more mature about it and not have fired Mark and Aaron. But how's that fair? To me a band are a group of people who work together to make music. But why should one band member have higher authority amongst the rest of the band? They should all be equal and all have a say on whether they disagree or agree on something. So this way there won't be any "firings." So really half could be on Mark and Aaron for not asking Ben and Chad first, but on the other hand Ben could have been more mature and not freak out to where the point it would result in the "firing" of his band members.
He's immature for kicking out two people that went behind his and Chad's backs? He was in the right, imagine what else they may have done if he let them stay without consequences. A band needs to make all decisions together, so if members go behind other members backs them they should not be in the band anymore.
Typical Canadian you’re right. They was tryna do something and take credit for it. Chad just quit and the others where fired. The reason been filed a lawsuit was Bc after the firing began, they tried to take credit for other shit as well. Ben said in a interview about the new band that “it feels good to work with guys and share ideas, and I won’t have to worry about them taking credit Bc we all have great ideas” but nah I don’t blame him. He was in the right.
True. In fact, if you take the admittedly ear piercing female vocals out, I'd prefer this version over the original because the only reason I listen to this version is because of the badass drum improvement.
Well, because of this song our beloved band Breaking Benjamin has, "dismissed" our favorite bassist (Mark James) and guitarist (Aaron Fink). Let's wish the best for them and hope that Breaking Benjamin will tour again soon. ROCK ON!!
HALO( High Altitude Low Opening) and HAHO ( High Altitude High Opening) Military Free Fall Parachute Operations. NOT a video game played by immature Civilians, but, conducted by solid, Squared Away Special Operators.
ժεﻪէհ яð Well I agree with you, she does improve it. Not necessarily because of the female vocals or even the harmonies, but because the song seems emptier in a couple of parts toward the end without her filling the void lol. This version feels like the more complete one.
ժεﻪէհ яð No, not really. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, as well as producer and mixer, and I'd say that the remix, while is alright, doesn't live up to the original. It's entertaining, but it doesn't add anything to the song. This remix wasn't necessary, and that's very obvious in just how little the song was changed. Yes, a synth was added here and there, and the mixing/mastering may be slightly different, but the only thing that really is a drastic change is the female vocals, and they don't add any new depth to the song. It's not like this song is some epic, melodic piece in which a revision would give it a whole new perspective. It's just something to jam to. To summarize, I do disagree with you that the remix improved upon the song, and this is coming from one with musically-trained ears.
Edgar Vilhelm You also have biased ears, in that you care first and foremost about the instrumentals. Of course from that perspective, the song was not changed much. But as I mentioned above, the female vocals help fill some otherwise "empty" portions of the song toward the end that just kind of hang there in limbo waiting for it to pick back up again. Largely because it's just a simple lone riff, which would be more appropriate for an intro or a vocal-backed bridge (as this version kind of is) than the solo it tries to be in the original.
Adeon55 I understand some find the remix to be better, and that's okay. Really, this is all a matter of opinion, and it doesn't take any musical training to know what one prefers. I just thought I'd show that there can be an opinion opposing OP's, even with a musical training.
And I thought this song couldn't get any better... THIS IS THE BEST SONY EVER!!! It beats Linkin Park's Numb and In the end by far!!!😎 great job on the vid Bro *highfives *
All right everyone, let's get a few things straight. Breaking Benjamin is NOT done. Only two members of the band got fired. This happens in the music industry sometimes. Benjamin's attorney (Brian Caplan) states, "The relationship between Mr. Burnley and the two other members of the band has ended, Mr. Burnley intends on moving forward using the name Breaking Benjamin and the band will continue. It just won't continue in its prior configuration. He's not retiring." Check the description.
Its actually much better now they added a female vocal unless some of u are tone deaf considering they do have bands with females like i dont know a band called skillet.
I don't like this version any better. I really like it when they have both of them singing at the same time. Those parts are really good. And in the breakdown when she sings over top of his screams I liked that a lot, but the parts where they're a tandem and they switch back and forth? Those parts are so fucking disgusting it completely ruins the rest of the song for me.
Jacob Jackson honestly, i like the original better, but i will say im really happy they remastered it in this, cause Jeremy's snare sounds absolutely horrid XDD
